Just One Step More

Just One Step More…….

Just  one step more to take then,

I will be cradled in the arms

                  Of the deceiving world

Will taste of its honey that stings

                Once again.

Just one step more to take then,

I will be away from the Loving arms

Of the One whose Beauty bathed me

To become a child of light

Away from the Loving Comfort

That calms me down

Settles my strife deep within.

Should trials make me turn away from the Lord?

To the world ?

Are heartaches enough to leave the cross

Where he died?

Can the pain release me from His grasp ?

No…….  No……

Let me take one step more

Back to God.

This poetry was composed on the summer of 1985. During my second year in Christianity. I happened to compose this poem after experiencing  sort of brokenhearts and several trials in the faith.

We certainly all have the choice of where to receive solace; however, the only true and lasting solace will be found in His arms.

My wife and I are leaving on Monday for a medical mission in the Philippines, please pray for us.
