Sample Study on Prayer

Father forgive them for they know not what they doing” (Luke 23:24, NIV). Jesus close to death knew that this prayer asking for the forgiveness for the soldiers doing their duty, would reach His Fathers ears. Why? Because Jesus above everyone else knows that a prayer is a direct line to God.
The definition of prayer (American Heritage Dictionary) is; A reverent petition made to a deity.
God wants to communicate to those He loves and according to scripture He loves the world, “ For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16,NIV). It is Jesus threw his ministry that teaches us how to pray to God in Matthew 6:5-14. With the “Our Father” prayer we are given the tools needed to reach God directly if done with humility.
Like any parent God wishes a relationship with His children. He asks that you not only pray to him but be humble in the process this shows Him that your heart is in the right place, “ If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14,NIV).
Prayer is an act of humility before God, which He acknowledges with an open heart. Prayer also shows God your willingness to follow His ways and in doing so He knows your love for Him is great. Think as going to prayer as having god on speed dial, you leave a message and He will return your call.
In Matthew 7:7 Jesus says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (NIV). In what manner do you accomplish this feat, by being humble and pray to the Lord. Prayer is communication between the believer and God. A direct line of communication that offers no interference from no one.
There’s a saying that has been around for many years, “From your lips to God’s ears.” (origin unknown) No matter the turmoil or distractions that life gives us a simple act of prayer gives us a sense of peace and satisfaction that we know that God hears our words in our prayers. We also know that eventually in his time He will give us an answer, but in order to get an answer we must first humble ourselves before Him. Are you ready to have an open communication with God?

I really like your statement, "EVERYONE IS ON THEIR OWN BIBLICAL JOURNEY SO BIBLE STUDY CAN BE AS DIFFERENT AS A SNOWFLAKE" that is a great way to look at it. Just as God uses everyone of us, in the place and time he put us. Cheers.
