Let It Loose

One of the greatest modern day revivals took place in the Hebrides Islands of Scotland in the mid 1900's. Duncan Campbell was the instrument God used for this great purpose. How Mr. Campbell even got to the Hebrides is a story for another hub, but right now I want to share with you about a meeting that took place on the small island of Bernera.

From the very beginning God had been moving powerfully and a young teen-age boy by the name of Donald had been wonderfully saved. God moved greatly in Donald's life and in a short time, Donald became a prayer warrior on the frontlines of revival. He learned how to get God's attention and retreat into the very presence of God ver quickly.

One evening the meeting seemed to be dry and the Spirit of God seemed to be nowhere to be found. Mr. Campbell sent to the village of Barvas for some praying men. Still, through the evening, a spirit of oppression persisted and Mr. Campbell continued to preach.

It was not long until Mr. Campbell noticed that Donald was visibly moved by the Spirit. He called on Donald to pray, and this is what he said--"O God, I seem to be gazing through an open door. I see the Lamb in the midst of the Throne, with the keys of death and hell at His girdle." He then began to sob and lifting his eyes toward Heaven cried, "O God, there is power there. LET IT LOOSE!"

Instantly the Spirit of God swept through the building like a hurricane. The floodgates of Heaven were opened. The oppression had been broken and the movement of God continued. "LET IT LOOSE!" There is power there. Why do we not seek it? Why do we not care? What will it take for God to get our attention?

The power is the same. God is the same. The basic makeup of the human race is the same (sinful). We can and must have a movement of God again. It makes no difference whether it is Scotland, South Africa, the United Kingdom, or oh yes, America. We simply have to have a movement of God again. For one reason--God's glory!

I plead with you with everything that is in me, beg God to LET IT LOOSE. Turn it all over to Him.You will not be giving up anything. You will be gaining a life far beyond anything you can imagine. But please do not miss the point. It is not about you. It is about God being given His rightful place in your life, in your family, in your church, in your country. Make a piece of history. Fulfill your destiny by giving your all to Christ. He deserves it. Plead with Him to LET IT LOOSE!

Thanks again Lifegate for yet another challenge. May God give us the conviction to utter those words: "Let it loose!"

Can you imagine what would happen if God's church would desire for His power to be let loose? I, for one, certainly can't. But I do long to see it this side of Heaven. Thanks for stopping by, Brother.

Great hub and great exhortation. We should not settle for anything less than the glory of God. We do need another fresh visitation from God to empower us again to do the great commission Christ has entrusted us. Thank you for bringing out this into the light here at Hubpages. May you be blessed today and always. Best regards.

Inspiring hub! We so need to be revived and refreshed. The atmosphere described in the service where it was dry and arid spiritually is much like the church in our times. We really do need God to let it loose and He needs us to seek Him for it.

Yes, I do believe the 21st century American church is as you put it, "dry and arid". We desperately need the wind of the Holy Spirit to blow again. We need God to let it loose for sure!

What a great testimony of God power!

Whatsoever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatsoever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven in Jesus name!

"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"Luke 11:13

Your last paragraph says it so distinctly, including 'not about you' (me). Thank you for sharing a beautiful truth.

An awe inspiring work my friend. We need revival badly in this country. I just about broke into tears two weeks after preaching the Joshua Stone message. The entire church came forward to pray! Keep it up Pastor for we are called for such a time as this.
