“Let food be thy medicine, and let medicine be thy food.”

Genesis 1:29 - And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

Genesis 9:3 - Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

Genesis 1:11 - And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, [and] the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

"Let food be thy medicine, and let medicine be thy food."

~ Hippocrates, ca. 400 BC

The quotes are from the bible and Hippocrates simply because I believe they go hand in hand. Hippocrates said to heal with food. How can we really use food to heal ourselves? What did Hippocrates really mean when he said, "Let food be thy medicine."? And the bible says: Corinthians 3:17 - If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are.

Let's start with cutting out foods that we know are bad for us. Stop eating bad foods and really start to care about your body. Christians are always the first to point out the verse about the temple of God when they meet a Christian that smokes. Meanwhile, they eat fast food every other day and drink tons of soda pops.

In the last couple of years I have been becoming more aware and familiar of the dangers of our health and what we put in our mouth. As of late I have been looking up scriptures concering healing, health and wellness. All from the Lord.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for healing for those who are sick, that they will embrace the Word of God and be aware of Your healing promises. I pray that you could touch them with your healing power today. I pray for wisdom concerning our health. I pray for your Holy Spirit to guide us today. In Jesus Name Amen.

Good points Sky. Truly we need to honor our body as the temple and that includes all aspects. Thanks for the post.
