Living Faith in our Imperfect World

Changing Our Focus in an Imperfect World

Living in our own skin

Living faith in our own skin complicates when distractions attempt to impede the journey. Many live a life of faith aware of the disdain for their position. The brokenness of an imperfect world wants to pull our focus to the negative. While I too can be part of that negativity, I try to lead with a strong hope to limit my self-absorbed reactions.

Stop lying to yourself, and admit most people want to be seen in a favorable light, yet, deny the light that makes them shine. I suppose this "limelight" attraction accounts for the grave misinterpretation of "being the change."

While I of course struggle, I pray my change comes from within and pours from a faith-driven heart ready to serve and defend with a Christlike love. Foul morning breath remnant of the previous day's choices is distasteful, but, becomes fresh when I realize no matter how crazy good or bad this day is, You God, want to use me in it!

Say, “Thank you, Jesus!” Thank you for trusting me with one chance to serve you better than I have. Don't just use His name in vain, for real try God!

Where we don’t understand every scary world view, God shows us the truth, at least when we're open to it. This isn't our home I can assure you. We can end up there together if we help one another with less involvement in the self-deprivation of this world. So, we should be grateful for those seconds of morning breath and the chance for a new purpose each day.

Love yourself so you can love others

Waking up desiring God

I admit to the occasional self-indulgence of chocolate or the use of uncontrolled passion when reacting to an offense. Especially when amongst the stupidity of humans, including myself in that human category. Truth is, my skin crawls when I don’t understand the why’s of the world.

As a work in progress, I despise much of our reality but realize the need to stay on track with Christ! Knowing that while we fall short of His likeness, we can wake up desiring God. Meeting life’s trials with Him gives every hurdle a purpose. Lifting one another up is more of a feel good than pulling them down. Still, it's hard to find the uplifting spirit in the social climate we live in.

You may find this position pathetic, but, if I am nothing else I am honest in my reflection of self. I live by faith and believe in an awesome God, who has power beyond anything we can get ahold of in this world.

If you woke up breathing, ask, "How do you want me to use my breath?" Okay, some days we may need to go back to sleep a few times to get it right, but things will become clear if we keep our focus on Him.

SELF = FLESH When adding the Human

Take a quick look at that word SELF. Now reverse it. If we add an H, which is the first letter of the word human. What do you see? FLESH!

There we have it, adding our humanness and getting things turned around gets us our imperfect flesh.

  • Superficial confidence is a mask for our imperfections as we react to an imperfect world. The good news is we aren’t in control of our chaos. God is in control!
  • Where we understand we don’t have to add to the mob of chaotic upheaval we must recognise our imperfections. We need to let go and go at the same time.

I will try and explain.

  • To let go is to release your formed judgments, your hurts, and anger. Releasing your lack of understanding and remembering to breathe.
  • Trying to live without the immediacy of reaction is tough. We can lose it, and probably will, but allow others to love you because none of us deserves it. Unworthy, we are loved by God and through others.

We could list the multitudes of ways that we harm, act righteous, or fake it as opposed to humble surrender and denial of self. As people, we're trying to move from the discombobulating agendas. Denying truth and following blindly without discernment sets us on the path of working for separation. No need to share in the hidden agenda of sin which is to cause separation from God. I wish for our world to move from sin, die to self, and give joy more airtime.

No one wants to separate from perfection where two or three are gathered

Fighting the flesh is useless rather work to come together

Fighting the flesh is useless. We don't fight the flesh and blood but rather the forces of evil formed against us. Crimson is our color, it flows beneath the covering of our skin. We all bleed whether alone or with unified reaction to sudden impalement of harsh words or physical assault.

Jesus bore the pain of sin as nails thrust into His hands. How horrid the reality when evil spews from our own mouth's with the immediate remembrance that we are part of destructive piercing.

A desiring heart seeks surrender at His feet. He sets our path in discipleship for His purpose. Where we understand His blood covers and recognize the flesh impedes we know His Grace is sufficient.

We seek to deny self in this imperfect world while living for the next, aware that while we remain in the flesh we are victim and victimizer of its limitations.

Looking at the world through the depictions of man is disheartening at times frightening in the least, however, we can't lose sight of the miracles among the brokenness. His miracles are present in each day and worth everything.

Look for the light in the darkness it's there, keep looking up and not down!

Help us to see the light in the darkness

One person doing something good

One person on a team can create a change in the outcome. One could take the knee for or against. They could shine a light on themselves and their understanding as opposed to the truth. React in pain to a personal attack. Spew words or act a fool in the heat of a moment. All humans tend to do a version of these things that separate. What if we protect from the fire, love in the battles, heal in the mess? Leave your comfort zone and enter the constructive zone. Step from your box and get busy!

Pick the right team!

Because I love Jesus

If you want to call me a wimp, you would be wrong I have been broken, and strengthened by a living faith in a broken world. I step out whenever I can sharing His message because I love Jesus!

I find the world view complex and don't like it much of the time. However, life is fabulous I enjoy it. I love my family, friends and people in general. My humor meter is good and I'm adventurous to a point, but I love God first, in Him, I trust.

Perfection isn’t my skill set, but in His eyes, I am doing okay. “Thank you, Jesus, I praise you as your perfectly flawed servant from an imperfect world.”

Love the way He loves

Promises in His Word trusting in faith

1Peter 4:7-11(NIV)

“The end of things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very work of God. If anyone serves they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen”

John 3:16 (NIV) For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

This is later in John 16:33 (NIV) I tell you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

We all struggle in this imperfect world

Oh Sweet Blossom

It means the absolute world to me to see your comment.

I have not been up to writing as my health battle ebbs and flows. However, I am thoroughly blessed as my sweet daughter was married in June and just passed her nursing boards and is now working in her field. (God uses everything even growing up with a mommy in and out of the hospital, and now God is using her as a nurse.) She is married to a sweet young man and they are serving the Lord together, and our son is studying at Theology and Pastoral Ministry at Houghton College, this mama's heart is full.

While writing is not my true gift or talent, it is my heart to share my faith walk in any possible way. I pray He improves my writing to reach one more for HIM. If one thought of His projects from my attempt, I feel great joy.

I live spirit-filled and always seeking His Spirit, therefore, I know the enemy wants to keep that spirit from spreading, but that's laughable as I know the ending and God wins.

So, thank you, sweet Blossom, as I felt few want to hear what I was trying to share. I always pray for God to use my every action and word, Thank you for the encouragement. :)
