MORTALITY MOMENTS

DEFINITION

My purpose here is to define what I mean by mortality moments. I never had a near death experience so that is not what I am referring to in this exposition. I have a more profound experience to which I am referring when I talk about Mortality Moments. I am referring to that time of life when we all realize we have more days behind us that we have in the future. This can be a devastating revelation to every human who ever lived and we can’t escape its effect on all of us!!!!!!!!

OH WOE, WHAT TO DO?

The feeling of “Oh woe what to do”, is a common reaction to mortality moments, and that feeling can be a paralyzing, fear inspiring, deterrent to living out our lives. Each and every one of us must come to terms with our own mortality. I don’t claim it’s an easy chore, and it’s uncomfortable to even think about, but think about it we must, because there’s no alternative. It’s just a fact of being alive the life on this mortal plane is finite and will come to an end some day. If we throw up our hands and mourn our mortality we are already as good as dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY SUGGESTIONS

  1. Be thankful every day for what God has given us. We may have new limitations, but remember what we still have.
  2. Keep our thoughts positive, because nobody likes a gloomy Gus.
  3. Do something constructive every day then we can relish our abilities and not be sad about what we can no longer do.
  4. Pray to the Lord for wisdom and ask for forgiveness of our sins in Jesus name and we have life everlasting to look forward to with God the Father through Jesus sacrifice on the cross.
  5. Treat every moment we have here on earth as a blessing and gift from God. Make our Heavenly Father proud to have us as his children.
  6. Be kind to others. We are all brothers and sisters in God eyes.

Folks we can’t come off this mortal plane alive so do what you can to enjoy what you can while there is still time because time is wasting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Lord for today and I pray for another day, but Thy will be done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tom,

Good ideas for a happier life. Everyone has hardships now and then, but you must look for the positive and not always dwell on the negative. Thanks

Sheri,

You have it right. We don't have to look for trouble it will find us in due time. We must stay positive and make the most of what we have!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for this hub, Tom. We have to just set our mind that we are immortal, living forever. Then our heart will not be troubled.

Pop,

That's sage advice. We have no promises on this earth.

Tom, This is a great list and if I can do most of it most of the time then I would consider that a success. God Bless.

Pamela,

Thank you for the compliment. It's a chore to perform, but the reward is well worth the effort!!!!!!!!!!

I have never had a near death experience, and I don't care if I do, but as I get older, and being overweight, I am starting to worry.

Keep on hubbing!

eovery,

A mortality moment is not tied to a near death experience. It means as we get older we understand we have limited time left on the mortal plane.

I understand that. I am glad I have knowledge that my spirit will live on, and that in the future I will be united with my body, family and friends. I am starting to feel a little of waiting for the next step and move on to my responsibilities in the life after, but right now I am not done raising my family, and have a lot of things to do here on earth yet.

I just wish and hope other can have the assurance and peace.

Keep on hubbing!
