Manifesting Abundance - The Secret To Creating Wealth

The Secret To Wealth Creation?

So just what are the tricks to the law of attraction and creating wealth?
Well since I have been studying this matter since 2000, (long before the book "The Secret" came out) I thought I'd share a few basics that I have run across in my journey.
Now bear in mind that I am NOT saying any of these will work for you.
If they all did, I'd be rich right now.
Of course I'd still share my info for free even if I was.
There are many techniques for manifesting abundance, so give these a try if you wish and see what happens.

Napoleon Hill

Napoleon Hill - Think and Grow Rich

Although Napoleon Hill (October 26, 1883 – November 8, 1970) was considered a member of the "New Thought" movement by some, he achieved a level of respectability that many other teachers didn't, actually becoming an adviser to President Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1933 to 1936.
Of course Hill's greatest work was Think and Grow Rich, published in 1937.
Today, 75 years after it was published, the book is ranked 990 at Barnes and Noble and 71 in Self Help>Success at Amazon.
Not too shabby huh?
Napoleon believed that using desire, faith, focus and persistence and eliminating all negative energy and thoughts would allow to you reach your goals.

His technique involved 13 steps....
1. Desire
2. Faith
3. Autosuggestion
4. Specialized Knowledge
5. Imagination
6. Organized Planning
7. Decision
8. Persistence
9. Power of the Master Mind
10. The Mystery of Sex Transmutation
11. The Subconscious Mind
12. The Brain
13. The Sixth Sense

Wallace Wattles

Wallace Wattles - The Science of Getting Rich

Allegedly, Wallace Wattles got the idea for The Science of Getting Rich from Phineas Quimby's "mental healing movement".
Wallace thought that if your state of mind has a positive influence over how you feel physically, then could it lead to prosperity, happiness and love?
So Wattles began to apply Quimby's "mental healing" techniques to financial and physiological situations.
By the way, The Science of Getting Rich came out before The Master Key System and Think and Grow Rich, so if you want some source material, this may well be it.

Joseph Murphy

Joseph Murphy - The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

Joseph Murphy (The Power of Your Subconscious Mind) was taught by the same man that taught Neville Goddard.
But if you read his books, he took the ideas in a slightly different way.
He also advocated everyone's own belief system, as long as you did just that...believe.
Dr.Murphy said...
“You were born to be rich. You grow rich by the use of your God-given faculties, by tuning in with the Infinite, and as your mind becomes productive and full of good ideas, your labor will become more productive and will bring you all kinds of material riches."

Rhonda Byrne

Rhonda Byrne - The Secret

Rhonda Byrne - The Secret

Of course the book that kicked off the law of attraction craze was The Secret.
Written by Rhonda Byrne, The Secret says that feelings and thoughts can attract events.
Yeah it's pretty much that simple.
Simply put, it's Ask, Believe, Receive.
The book and film both draw heavily on the old teachers of the laws of attraction.
Questions....
Ever notice that the people in the movie are all rich?
How may people do you know that read it became rich?
Just my opinion, but if I'm already a millionaire, it would be easy for me to attract more money.
Back when Steve Martin was doing just stand up, he used to have a routine in his act where he said...
"I am going to give you the secret to becoming a millionaire. It's simple, fool-proof and anyone can do it. First step...get a million dollars. Second step...."
The Secret got to the top of the New York Times bestseller list and the film reached number 1 on the sales charts on Amazon.com.
Now, out of those millions and millions of readers...how many became rich?
Did a global consciousness shift suddenly sweep the world?
Now I'm not saying the ideas in the book and movie weren't valid, but you can't take Wallace Wattles, William Walker Atkinson and Charles F. Haanel's deep thoughts, throw them in a blender and say "Look! This is perfect now!"

Neville Goddard - The Promise and The Law
Neville Goddard - The Promise and The Law

Neville Goddard

Now Neville's approach to manifesting abundance was a little different.
He called it The Law, the technique of creating physical reality through imagining.
Neville believed (this is a very simple version) that God is inside you, he knows what you want/need, so you believe (imagine) what you want is already here.
Then you give thanks for it.
Neville was also very big on using this technique to help others.
When you see a homeless person, imagine him as gainfully employed and in good health.
Basically want for him what you want for you.
The Golden Rule so to speak.
Neville has a lot of other ideas that you may, or may not, be able to accept, but he bears reading.

Charles F. Haanel - The Master Key System
Charles F. Haanel - The Master Key System

Charles F. Haanel - The Master Key System

The Master Key System was originally published as a correspondence course in 1912.
The man that wrote the book was Charles F. Haanel, an author, millionaire, entrepreneur, and businessman.
Haanel practiced what he preached and was a self made success who owned several major companies.
You can buy the book, or you can find it in full on many websites of the net.
As far as credentials for this book go, in 1919, Napoleon Hill (Think and Grow Rich) wrote a letter to Haanel thanking him for the book.
That's pretty big praise considering Think and Grow Rich has sold well over 30 million copies.

James Allen - As a Man Thinketh

Almost everyone includes As a Man Thinketh on their lists, but I have a problem with it.
I'm sure the book is very good, but Allen himself never achieved great fame or wealth.
I know that sounds bad, but if he knew these techniques and they worked, why didn't they help him?
He barely made enough money from his writings to cover expenses...kinda strange for a guy that wrote From Poverty To Power isn't it?
Of course maybe he didn't want fame or wealth for himself, just others.
I can't pretend to know his mind.
So the book itself may be worth a look.

Creating Wealth With Sigils

I got into Sigils via comic book writer Grant Morrison, who to put it mildly is a trip, who got it from Austin Osman Spare.
The idea with Sigils is that you form a statement of what you want, then the words of the statement of intent are reduced into an abstract design.
Then you charge the sigil with your intent.
Grant came up with (or popularized) the hypersigil, which is an extended work, not just one symbol.
I tried sigils with no results.
BUT, I taught someone else how to do it, and what they wanted manifested in about 24 hours.
"Those that can't do teach" huh?
Anyway, the technique is fairly complicated so here is a very detailed explanation....

Creating Wealth - Summary

So there you have it, all the "secrets" to creating wealth.
Why didn't I just give you one technique?
Because like I said in the Sigils part, what works for one will not always work for another.
Trust me, if I find a 100% foolproof manifesting technique that will work for everyone, I will write a Hub about it and let EVERYONE know.

Manifesting Abundance - The Secret To Creating Wealth

Have you ever tried any of these techniques?

  • Yes...and they worked wonders!
  • No...magical thinking is ridiculous!

Interesting take on wealth, there's a lot of positive meditation involved here. I've done a some research on wealth too, I'm a believer in the "ger rich slowly" technique. It's not very romantic, but it's easy to understand. Mainly it's about getting rid of your liabilities and gain/feeding assets in your life. Thanks for the article, always good to hear a new angle!

Well done Sabreblade! I had forgotten how enthralled with Austin Spare, coyotes and sigils etal I had become back in the early 90's. Never had much success with it either. Goddard, being my latest discovery, seems to simplify it all for me. All of the above guys and their systems all essentially boil down to the use of one's imagination do they not? I like the idea of God being my imagination...it makes me feel tough ;o)

The information was very good.I will keep trying many techniques like everyone else until I find one or all that work.I did a little research and The Secret was based on the life teachings of Abraham Hicks.I have gone to see them and I have read some of their books.I think you would like them.Tell me what you think when you get a chance. We are all searching for the same goal to be happy and help others to be the same.

I'm sorry, I totally overlooked Abraham Hicks. A lot of The Secret is based on that.

They had a falling out of sorts before the book was published I think.

I have read both The Science of Getting Rich, and Think and Grow Rich. Both books are worth reading at least one time every year.

Thanks Sabreblade for this hub.

Very informative.

Do you know of T.Harv Eker?.

So far i have found him to be helpful and is someone i keep going back to.He talks of knowing our "money blue-print".

That shapes our lives.

And what is wrong with bloody filthy rich? Do you have any idea how many many people, animals I could help? If you use wealth to help, I see nothing wrong in desiring it.

Great hub, the master key system is really a great book for learning how to apply the law of attraction effectively in our lives!

thanks for your help on this great info

I believe in order to manifest abundance you have to eliminate some limiting beliefs about yourself. The secret just barely skimmed the surface with it's information. Like anything of value, it takes some work to achieve something.

has it worked for u??

Thanks for this article. I was looking for something and I think sigils was it. BTW I was also struck by your language, as I think was dattakafka, above. I think some of the books you mention (I have read many of them!) say that using language like 'filthy rich' will keep wealth away from you, due to some subconscious function... Well, I am on my way to read more of your great stuff, thanks again !!

t's a good thing to remember that attachment is the number one cause of suffering in this world. Whenever we are suffering about anything (on a mental, emotional or physical level) it is certain that we are attached to some thought inside ourselves about something. Attachment in the most raw definition means we cannot surrender to trust and let go. We are clinging out of fear and losing the outcome we desire. We can be afraid of losing anything in life, all based on our wounding and karma from the past. When we discover how to trust in the state of detachment, we find the spiritual state of connection, and our manifesting abilities ascend to an entirely new level.

Attachment is a form of poverty consciousness which stems out of feeling disconnected to our spiritual Source. Out of desperation we attach ourselves to certain thoughts, beliefs, people, and habits in hope that a certain positive "Source-like" feeling will manifest, and bring in all the happiness and satisfaction we were missing. This approach is obviously coming from ego; that fearful needy place which deep down is neglecting and ignoring its innate connection to Source. The ego is always desperate and always trying to make you feel secure, because it's too busy to relax into the unconditional loving Source that is here now. The great cosmic joke of course is that the Source is always right here, right now, and always available to tap into. When you become free from the mind's attachment to anything, you start feeling the infinite love and energy within this Source, and know exactly how easy it is to manifest any life you desire.

When you are non-attached to the mind and are feeling connected to your soul, your core identity remains centered with the infinite Source instead of your ego. You realize that YOU are the Source of love, peace, and empowerment. It is not found outside you, yet from within in. From this enlightened space, your ego takes a step down and simply feels grateful for life just as it is. Then, the Universe seems to hand over every wish, want and desire you have. It does this for mere joy of feeling your heart soften more and see the smile on your face become bigger.

I agree there is nothing wrong with being wealthy, and a lot of good can be done with it.

Those who think it is wrong to be wealthy have a poverty mentality.

Why sorry?

I think you should do a Hub with the info you posted here.

There is nothing to be sorry about!

If I may explain why some teachers are not rich themselves, they just do not care. They are students of the Spirit and see the truth of the teaching in the Scriptures, and that satisfies them. "Wealth? What would I want that for? I am just teaching what the Scriptures actually say." It is a value choice. In my opinion, if a person learns good and bad, and then chooses wealth and luxury, they have gone the wrong way. Seeking to know God more intimately would be the better choice.
