Morning Coffee with Jesus - February 3, 2010
Greetings loved ones!
Today’s “Morning Coffee with Jesus” comes from James 3:2 “We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.”
Have you ever met someone who presented himself/herself as though they were perfect? If you have, you know that dealing with someone like that has its challenges. That seemingly perfect person thinks he/she is always right, irrespective of the fact that he/she is not. When I meet people like that, I get frustrated and want to say things that I know would not be positive.
Let’s face it, sometimes it is so hard to be nice!! Other times it's really easy. But the person who is consistently showing the fruits of the Spirit has mastered himself. I know I'm not there yet but I sure do try! We need to remember that despite all that life throws at us, our final resting place is not here and one day we're going to go home to be with the Lord and spend Eternity with Him! If that doesn't make you smile and get you rejoicing, nothing will!!
In the meantime, however, this is boot camp. We go through the trials of existence with the hope of giving it all over to the Lord and worshipping and praising Him for all that He gives us; good and bad. When we begin to see that even the "bad" (at least from our perspective) things which happen have a purpose yet we can praise God during the bad, we are becoming more like Christ and this is what God desires for us. Is something truly bad if it is making us more like Christ?
We see from our perspective. We need to have our Father's eyes for a moment and see how this situation will shape us to be more like Him. Ultimately, that is the goal. And when the bad happens, and when we meet people who want to make us scream, and we can stand in the midst of it all and praise and worship God and thank Him for taking us through it, we conform more and more to the image of Christ, and those trials make it all worth it.
Today, try to see your trials, (including others who are the trials!) through our Father’s eyes. You will find positive in it and perhaps your perspective might shift just a bit!
Have an awesome day in Jesus. Go MAD in someone’s life today.
