Morning Coffee with Jesus - January 19, 2010
Greetings loved ones!
Today’s “Morning Coffee with Jesus” comes from Isaiah 58:10-11 "..and if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail."
As you are well aware, the number of dead as a result of the earthquake in Haiti has risen to near 200,000. Medical aid is badly needed and simple things such as water and blankets are basic essentials unavailable right now.
The gruesome details of disposing of the bodies of the dead is like a scene from a science fiction movie. Each day more US service men and women arrive to assist at keeping order yet so much more is needed.
When we give of ourselves in some small way – whether it is for the people of Haiti or the people in our own community, we actually give to God. I think of the times when my children do things for me without my asking, just because they want to bless me. How wonderful that feels to be the recipient of such a blessing! Imagine how good God feels when we do something nice for someone else without expecting anything in return – we do it just because! It’s actions like this that truly bless God’s heart.
Today commit a random act of kindness for someone. It’s not the action that God loves, it is the heart behind the act that truly blesses Him!
Have an awesome day in Jesus. Go MAD in someone’s life today.
Stay sweet,
stay broken,
stay HIS!
Blessings,
E.
