Morning Coffee with Jesus - November 20, 2009
Hello loved ones.
Welcome to Friday!
Today’s “Morning Coffee with Jesus” comes from Psalm 69:30 "I will praise the name of God with a song, And will magnify Him with thanksgiving." (NKJV)
I have to admit, I love watching HGTV. I especially love the shows where the host interior designer who chooses a room or two in the person’s house or apartment for an entire makeover surprises a person who has selflessly given of himself or herself to bless others. At the end of every episode, the person is awed by the beautiful “finished product” and gushes with thanks and praise for choosing them for the makeover.
What if, before you go out your door today, you choose to become a more thankful person? What if, no matter what, you choose to live out the words “Don’t worry, instead pray about everything with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
What if you begin your day with five minutes of worship, and I do not mean singing in the shower or in your car- but in a quiet place - just you and Jesus. How would that make you feel? What if the Holy Spirit showed up in your worship BIG TIME? How would that make you feel?
Life is a journey full of adventure, love, success, and hope. However, life is also full of trouble, worry, pain and failure. It is easy to allow these things of life to swallow up all the things of God. But what if we chose to give thanks in all circumstances irrespective of what “common sense” tell us? Life would be greater, our perspective healthier, and our relationships stronger. Yes, life would be fuller.
Worshipping and giving thanks to God is a vital part of Christian living. The Holy Spirit inhabits our praise because true praise comes from the depths of our soul.
Today or tomorrow, carve out five minutes to spend in praise and worship. It is surprising how it sets the “tone” for your day. You will see life with a more thankful attitude and from that thankful attitude, your praises and worship will flow!
Have a fantastic weekend in Jesus. Go MAD in someone’s life this weekend.
Stay sweet,
stay broken,
stay His!
Blessings,
E
