Must those who are called Christian Witnesses of Jehovah pay for the past ?

Spirit and Truth; John 4:23, 24.

Muslim relatives tried to convert me to Islam, claiming that the Bible has been contaminated by man and cannot be trusted.

After years of research, three noted errors have been ascertained. These were traced to a handful of late manuscripts. These errors are 1 John 5:7 [Comma Johanneum],

Revelation 1:11, and 1 Timothy 3:16.

Translations that contain these errors include King James, and Gideon. They have been traced to the 3rd edition of the Textus Receptus.

Based on my understanding of the Bible, the righteous one is that one who progressively improves in his understanding

and conduct, in accordance to God. Proverbs 4:18.

Jesus the Christ, is The Prophet [Deuteronomy 18:15 to 19, Acts 3:22, 23], Priest to the order of Melchizedek [Psalm 110:4, Hebrews 6:20, Hebrews 8:1, 2], He is the Son of Yahweh/ Jehovah [1 Peter 1:3, John 3:16], He is the Messiah or Anointed One, the Lamb of God [John 1:29].

In my search to find the TRUTH [John 17:17, Psalm 119:160; John 14:6, Matthew 7:7; Proverbs 2:1- 6], it was discerned that most persons on earth are deceived. [1 John 5:19, Revelation 12:9, Revelation 13:4, 8].

The Jehovah's Witnesses based on their beliefs seem to be the ones who follow the Bible, as the early followers of Christ, then known as The Way.

Most internet sites had negative things to say about them, much of which are untrue. Acts 28:22.

In 2006, after careful research, the Witnesses are the ones

who are refining themselves [Daniel 12:4, 9, 10]. They

have one of the most accurate Bible translations, they have

love amongst themselves. Although they are not perfect, most strive to please the Christ [1 Corinthians 11:3] and the King of the Universe, JEHOVAH [Revelation 4:10, 11, Matthew 4:10].

Yes in 2006, my wife and I were baptized as Christians, witnesses of Christ, and witnesses of Jehovah.

Questions.

1. How can we be sure that the Bible as we have it today has NOT BEEN contaminated by man?

2. Can one accurately explain why there are discrepancies between translations, e.g. KJV vs NIT,

NEV, NAV, viz. a viz. 1 John 5:7, 1 Timothy 3:16, Revelation 1:11, ETC.?

3. To what extent has Greek philosophy, Platonism, Neo-Platonism etc. Babylonish teachings etc. influenced the teachings of Christendom? [Trinity, immortal soul, hell-fire, etc.]

4. How has Augustine, and others influenced doctrines today?

5. How has Constantine influenced or affected religious thought, and who were Arius, and Lucian of Antioch?

6. Why was the Divine Name omitted from MOST of todays Bible translations? [Replaced with GOD, or LORD, both titles.]

7. Who was/ is Jesus Christ?

8. What is identified by Babylon the Great [Revelation 18:4]?

9. What is/ are REQUIRED to worship God in a way that He approves?

10. What is the lake of fire [Revelation 21:8]?

11. Who is the God and Father of Jesus [Romans 15:6, 1 Peter 1:3, 2 Corinthians 1:3, John 20:17,

Ephesians 1:3, Revelation 3:12]?

12. What is the holy spirit [Acts 19:2]?

I thank you for your answers USING ONLY God's Words [1John 4:1].  ,[John 8:44].  John 17:17, Psalm 119:160, John 4:23, 24, 2 Timothy 3:16.

At John 18:37b Jesus says: "...For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice." NKJV.

That the Hebrew Scriptures or Old Testament is relevant and indispensible is shown at

2 Timothy 3:16. Indeed, Jesus Christ quoted extensively from these Bible books, from Genesis to Malachi. Since there are NO CONTRADICTIONS within the Bible, it stands to reason, then, that any discrepancies in doctrine are from man, or demons. This is supported by 1 Timothy 4:1, 2 Peter 2:1- 3 and 2 Timothy 4:1- 4 etc.

That man has introduced errors in the Bible is evident, by a comparison of KJV vs. NIV or English Standard translations etc, Revelation 1:11, 1 John 5:7 [Comma Johanneum], and 1 Timothy 3:16 for example. The Bible has as its main theme the Kingdom of God, an administration or Government, with an appointed King to rule over an earth submissive to God's will. [Daniel 2:44, Luke 1:31- 33, Daniel 7:13, 14 etc.] This Kingdom will vindicate the name of Almighty God which is traditionally rendered as JEHOVAH in English from the original Hebrew. A careful research will show that this Divine and personal name of God Almighty occurs nearly 7,000 times in the Hebrew texts but has been consistently rendered as LORD or God in most translations.

John 4: 23 reads: Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the TRUE WORSHIPERS will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for SUCHLIKE ones to worship him.

The Scripture above suggests that at the time of Jesus’ ministry, the established religion back then [Pharisees and Sadducees] were REALLY NOT worshiping God Almighty with SPIRIT and TRUTH. Indeed, both sects tried in vain to trap Jesus Christ with questions; on responding Jesus not only EXPOSED their FAULTY way of thinking but CONDEMNED them as hypocrites. Matthew 15: 4 – 9; John 8: 42 – 45.

Daniel 12: 9, 10 read: And he went on to say: “Go, Daniel, because the words are made secret and sealed up until the TIME of the END. Many will

CLEANSE themselves and will WHITEN themselves and will be REFINED. And the wicked ones will certainly act wickedly, and NO wicked one at all will UNDERSTAND; but the ones having insight will understand.

From the above Scriptures, the fact that a CLEANSING and WHITENING is mentioned suggests that there was an APOSTASY, or CONTAMINATION of true worship. This is supported by many Scriptures example; 1 Timothy 4: 1; 2 Timothy 4: 1-4; 2 Peter 2: 1- 3; 2 John 7 – 11;

2 Thessalonians 2: 1- 12.

1 Timothy 4: 1 reads: However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and TEACHINGS of DEMONS.

2 Peter 2: 1 – 3 read: However, there also came to be FALSE PROPHETS among the people, as there will also be FALSE TEACHERS among you. These very ones will QUIETLY bring in DESTRUCTIVE SECTS and will disown even the OWNER that bought them, bringing speedy destruction among themselves. Furthermore, MANY will FOLLOW their acts of LOOSE CONDUCT, and account of these the way of the truth will be spoken of abusively. Also, with covetousness they will EXPLOIT you with COUNTERFEIT WORDS. But as for them, the judgment from of old is not moving slowly, and the destruction of them is not slumbering.

So, then, there can be NO DOUBT that a FALL-AWAY from TRUE worship was PREDICTED and IS evident TODAY.

True Christians

Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers, will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him. John 4:23

If you ask anything in my name, I will do it, "If you love me, you will observe my commandments; and I will request the Father and he will give you another helper to be with you forever, the spirit of the TRUTH, which the world cannot receive, because it neither beholds it nor knows it..... John 14:14-17.

He that has my commandments and observes them, that one is he who loves me. In turn he that loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and plainly show myself to him." John 14: 21.

Most truly I say to you. He that exercises faith in me, that one also will do the works that I do; ...... John 14:12.

They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world.

Sanctify them by means of the truth; your word is truth. Just as you sent me forth into the world, I also sent them forth into the world. And I am sanctifying myself in their behalf, that they also may be sanctified by means of truth. "I make request, not these only, but also concerning those putting faith in me through their word; in order that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in union with me, and I am in union with you, that they also may be in union with us, in order that the world may believe that you sent me forth. John 17:16-21.

Righteous Father, the world has, indeed not come to know you, but I have come to know you, and these have come to know that you sent me forth. And I have made your NAME known to them and will make it known in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in union with them." John 17:25-26.

As for the believers from among the nations, we have sent out, rendering our decision that they should keep themselves from what is sacrificed to idols as well as from blood and what is strangled and from fornication. Acts 21:25.

see also Acts 15: 28, 29.

.......... the fruitageof the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23.

But we think it proper to hear from you what your thoughts are, for truly as regards this sect it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against. Acts 28:22

If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you. John 15:19. see also 1 Peter 4:4.

Subject yourselves, therefore to God, but oppose the Devil, and he will flee from you. Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you indecisive ones. James 4:7-8.

God told Adam and Eve, (two living souls) that they would “surely die” if they disobeyed Him. (Gen. 2:17) It is the soul, the sentient being, the will or mind of a man which is responsible for sin, and it is the soul, therefore, which is to bear the penalty of sin. That penalty is distinctly stated to be death. “The wages of sin is death.” (Rom. 6:28) “The soul that sinneth it shall die.” Ezek. 18:4

From this standpoint we can see that Adam was created mortal—in a condition in which death was a possibility. Had Adam remained obedient he would have continued living forever, everlastingly—and yet all the while he would have been mortal, liable to death if he became disobedient.

Because he was not immortal God’s threat that if he disobeyed he should die, meant something. It meant the loss of the spark or “breath of life,” without which the body would return to dust and the living soul or sentient being would cease. Had Adam been immortal, God’s sentence would have been an empty threat. But because Adam was mortal, liable to death, he died because of his disobedience.

What is the Death State?

King David said of death: “His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth, in that very day his thoughts perish.” (Psa. 14:6) If immortal, the thoughts of a man would not perish, but would go on to another state of being. Solomon said: “There is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom in the grave whither thou goest.” The dead are not conscious, for both the body and the mind of a man cease to exist at death. “For the living know that they will die; but the dead know nothing ...” Eccl. 9:5, 10

The Apostle Paul describes death as “sleep.” “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep [dead], that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope… For the Lord himself shall descend [at his second coming] from heaven with a shout... and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” (1 Thes. 4:13, 16) If the dead were conscious, then they would have no need to be raised.

Hope Beyond the Grave

Although the Scriptures do not support the thought that the soul is immortal, they do abound with the hope of a resurrection from death in due time. “God will redeem my soul [that sentient being which had been alive] from the grave [sheol—the condition of death].” Psa. 49:15

When Jesus “poured out his soul [being] unto death” “he made his soul an offering for sin” and became our ransom-price. (Isa. 53:10,12) This was necessary, because it was Adam’s soul that was sentenced to death, and the promise to mankind is a redemption of soul or being from the power of death. Therefore, Jesus’ soul, life, was poured out in death. The penalty of Adam’s sin was death (everlasting,) and when Jesus took his place he became subject to that penalty—eternal death. Jesus, as a man, then, in order to redeem man had to give up forever his human existence.

The Bible declares that as all of Adam’s race share by heredity in his death penalty, so they all shall be permitted to share in recovery from the power of the grave as they learn of and accept Christ. As Paul expressed: “As by a man comes death, by a man also comes the resurrection of the dead; for as all in Adam die, even so shall all in Christ be made alive.” ICor. 15:21-23

Immortality Brought to Light

The Apostle Paul explains that the term immortality had no application before the resurrection of Jesus. Our Lord received immortality at his resurrection as a reward for his faithful obedience “unto death, even the death of the cross.” “Wherefore, God hath highly exalted him [to the promised divine nature, at his resurrection], and given him a name that is above every name [Jehovah’s name excepted].” 1 Cor. 15:27; Heb. 12:3,2; 2 Cor. 8:9; Phil. 2:8,9

Paul declares that Jesus “abolished death [broke its hold on man] and brought (1) life and (2) immortality to light through the gospel.” (2 Tim. 1:10) This shows that: (1) life in perfection, lasting life, is separate and distinct from (2) immortality, indestructibility. In addition, it shows that neither of these great blessings had been disclosed or made accessible previous to the gospel.

The Offer of Everlasting Life: Perfect Humanity

During God’s Kingdom on earth, His plan of salvation for the general race of Adam is to extend to each member of it the offer of everlasting life through the precious blood of the Lamb. Adam’s race will be offered “restitution” (Acts 3:19-21) to perfect human life—the same that Adam possessed before his fall from grace. Restitution in its ultimate sense will bring the restored ones not only out of the grave, but also out of their sick and dying condition.

By the close of God’s thousand year Kingdom, all the obedient of mankind shall have attained all that was lost in Adam and redeemed by Christ. Then, armed with complete knowledge and experience, all will be fully able, as individuals, to stand the test of obedience. They will not be rewarded with immortal life, but will be granted everlasting life here upon the earth as long as they remain obedient.

The Offer of Immortality: A New Creation

God purposes not only to give the world of mankind life everlasting, but to give the faithful followers of Jesus a higher kind of life—immortality, the divine nature. Immortality is “brought to light” for this special class only, the Church, which, by God’s wonderful favor, is now being called, tested, and selected to be joint-heirs with Christ. This inherent life is referred to by our Lord: “As the Father hath life in himself [immortality] so hath he given unto the Son that he should have life in himself [immortality]” and that he should give it unto whomsoever he would—his bride, his Church. (John 5:26; Eph. 3:6) Paul tells Christians to “seek” this gift from Christ and to “put on” immortality, implying that they did not already have it inherently. Rom. 2:5-7; 1 Cor. 15:51-55

The hope of the Church, Christ’s bride, is that she will share in his glory, honor and immortality if faithful. It is written respecting “the resurrection” of the Church: “It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption [immortality]: it is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: it is sown a natural [animal] body; it is raised a spiritual body.” 1 Cor. 15:42-44,49; Rev. 2:10

What a glorious prospect! Then, “the Spirit [Christ] and the Bride say, Come... And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” Rev. 22:17

As 1 Corinthians 11:3 shows, the head of man is Christ, this agrees with Deuteronomy 18:18 to 19, John 12:49, and confirmed by

Acts 3:22 to 23.

Jesus the anointed One [Christ or Messiah], was led by Jehovah' s holy spirit [Isaiah 11:2, John 3:34], so then, only when we do our utmost to be followers of Christ, walking by spirit rather than by flesh [Galatians 5:16, 17; Jeremiah 17:5, 6], will we be able to prevent the vain, selfish attributes of sinful flesh from dominating us [Proverbs 30:4 to 5; Proverbs 16:5 to 6].

Having said all that, this is the reality, of all religious groups TODAY, those who call themselves Christian Witnesses of Jehovah, are the ones who seem to be constantly being refined in beliefs, conduct, and 'brotherly' love.

With all the debates, claims and counter-claims, the Bible holds TRUE, it does NOT support fallacies such as, Trinity, Immortality of the Soul, Eternal Torment, and Rapture.

The Witnesses of all the religious groups, most fittingly apply the following two Biblical texts:

John 4:24 (American Standard Version)

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth.

AND,

Proverbs 4:18 (Darby Translation)

18But the path of the righteous is as the shining light, going on and brightening until the day be fully come.

It is an established fact, that of all groups, the Witnesses refer to the Personal Name, of God, JEHOVAH, whilst, most other groups use the title LORD interchangeably to refer to both the Son, and the Father. Also, Witnesses do not claim to perform miracles and cast out demons. Therefore, of all groups, the following text, is least applicable to the Christian Witnesses of Jehovah:

Matthew 7:21-23 (GOD’S WORD Translation)

21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the person who does what my Father in heaven wants. 22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name? Didn’t we force out demons and do many miracles by the power and authority of your name?’ 23Then I will tell them publicly, ‘I’ve never known you. Get away from me, you evil people.’

So, please, it is not the PAST, that matters, but, the PRESENT and the FUTURE.

Listen...

Isaiah 1:18 (American Standard Version)

18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith Jehovah: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
