Joy in the cross
We are here created on earth for a purpose: to know love and serve God and be with Him in eternity. Not everyone wants it. Sadly. But those who are willing, are the ones who feel it in their heart, there is no mistaking the pain and sadness of the cross that leads to victory.
I know that God will not let anything horrible happen to me, or that I should worry, for I am doing his work and I trust in his protection. I can focus on the task at hand. Those who follow Jesus Christ, are like vessels in a sense to spread God's light for others...We are here for a short time , compared to eternity our whole life is but a 1/000,000,000th of a second. We are called to do God's work and then to go home to God in Heaven. This is how the Holy Spirit made me feel when I accepted Christ as my savior.
Whether one believes or doesn't-we all have crosses or "difficulties". Well..--- Isn't it better to get joy and consolation from God? We all have that pull in us from time to time, something that is not easy to describe but which comes from our conscience (if we still have one.)
It is a punsishment of the Holy Spirit to allow some to let go of thier conscience, and once it's gone, it's very hard to get back.
Some are lucky, as I was, to have a good foundation in my faith. A mother untiring in prayer, daily praying rosary after rosary, and I must say I always made it home safe, even if I felt like I was going to crash the car from drinking or panicking, I made it home and was told she had prayed for me.
We all know the power of prayer, if we are blessed.
