Nicolaitan Deception

There is an error that is within the Church system that should be glaringly obvious, but no one recognizes it for what it is. It is like having an elephant in the room, but one one recognizes it’s an elephant. In fact, it is something that the God hates, but is commonly practiced and considered mandatory.

Many will not like this message as it essentially destroys the foundations that man-made religious systems are built upon.

Yet this you have: you HATE THE WORKS OF THE NICOLAITANS, which I ALSO HATE. – Revelation 2:6

So also you have some who HOLD THE TEACHING OF THE NICOLAITANS. THEREFORE REPENT. If not, I will come to you soon and war against them with the sword of my mouth. – Revelation 2:15-16

What is a Nicolaitan?

This may come as a shock to some, but the common forms of "government" practiced within Church buildings are something God hates.

The meaning behind the term Nicolaitan exposes the error of the Church system.

Nicolaitan can be divided into two Greek words:

Nike - to dominate, manipulate, intimidate and to conquer.

Laos – people, or laity.

  • We must ask ourselves, who are the people who put themselves in positions of power and control as lords over the people?

The answer should be obvious. They are what are know as: Pastor, Bishop, Prophet, Apostle, etc… that are special titles placed before their first names for distinction. They are guides of the people leading them in the error of having respect of persons.

You may say that these “titles” are Scriptural, but that is the illusion of religious deception where men have taken authority by means of their title in elevated position as “lords” over the people. In simpler terms this can also be defined as idolatry. These are the practices of the clergy-laity system where people “follow” their "leadership" instead of Jesus Christ. The Church minions become "disciples" of the salaried-to-clergy conforming to religious men with rather than Jesus Christ.

And from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to DRAW AWAY THE DISCIPLES AFTER THEM. – Acts 20:30

These Nicolaitan men make "disciples" after themselves conforming them to their carnal image of those who part of an apostate denominational church system built upon a hierarchical structure where elevated men abuse their "authority" that God has NOT given.

God has already given His Ekklesia warning concerning this system called “Churchianity.” May we have “eyes” to see and “ears” to hear to avoid the trappings of harlot church system.

He who has an ear, LET HIM HEAR what the Spirit says to the ekklesias. To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.’ – Revelation 2:7

"Do not question, and I do the talking."
"Do not question, and I do the talking."

Control

The moment you set foot within a Church building you are allowing ecclesiastical men to exercise their dominion over you. Their people will surround you and subjugate you to conform to their denominational templates.

By conceding to their “way,” you come under their control allowing their “head” to exercise dominion over you.

But I want you to understand that THE HEAD OF EVERY MAN IS CHRIST – 1 Corinthians 11:3

For some reason those within the Church system are simply blind to this verse and allow the "ministry" of self-titled officials becoming the “head” of every man and woman.

  • Are we not live and practice what Jesus taught?

Living the faith is becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ, not a minion of your “Senior Pastor.”

  • Do you really believe that “worshipping” in a Church building with their orchestrated programs and salaried officials has any resemblance to the Ekklesia in the New Testament who were admonished to preach the same Gospel and practiced the same faith without Nicolaitan corruption?

Those of you may contend that that there needs to be "government" among the Ekklesia. I can agree, but I guarantee what the Church attender defines “government” will be Nicolaitan to the core.

Paul actually made a list of rank, but you may be surprised that "government" is found in rank near the bottom.

And God hath set some in the ekklesia, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, GOVERNMENTS, diversities of tongues. – 1 Corinthian 12:28

Level of Importance

If the “Pastor” is the primary director of his Church "government," then according to this verse his “government” position ranks down at the bottom of the list in importance.

Huh???

Yes, look at the list and read all the things that have precedence over “governments.”

  • What does this say about the self-promoting title called, “Pastor?”

They fail to understand that the greatest in the Kingdom of God will be the “no-name” servants who labor among the Ekklesia without lording any carnal authority over others trying to make a name for themselves.

Unfortunately, the antichrist system of Church has bought into Nicolaitan directive of Satan.

The preeminence of the pulpit “peacocks” has become an epidemic as they impose their errors on the flock.

Those within the Church system do not heed the call of Jesus Christ to come out of the harlot apostate churches that are ruled by "Nicolaitans." Unfortunately, this pattern of the spirit of antichrist that has been ramping up and has been playing out in greater force as the return of Jesus Christ draws closer.

The true fruit of repentance would mean walking out of the harlot church's doors and humbly asking God to take away the baggage of the many errors and deeds of partaking in spiritual Babylon. Their false doctrines have deceived many into false comforts and assurances of following a “way” that is not on the narrow path.

The indoctrinated are really good at making rationalizations to justify their religious practices that are clearly contrary to the principles of the Kingdom of God. These are the pompous attitudes of those who try to attain "God" based on their own human reasoning.

I have applied all these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brothers, that you may learn by us NOT TO GO BEYOND WHAT IS WRITTEN, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another. – 1 Corinthians 4:6

Believing in Scripture is doing what it says, not just giving lip service to it. Blind ignorance is the way of man’s traditions.

We must read Scripture for ourselves rather than being spoon fed man-made creeds from church hirelings.

Whether we look at the Old Testament to the New Testament there is a parallel of apostasy that is happening right in front of our eyes. When the blind are leading the blind, the obvious is incomprehensible to them.

And SEVEN WOMEN shall TAKE HOLD OF ONE MAN in that day, saying, “We will EAT OUR OWN BREAD and WEAR OUR OWN CLOTHES, only let us be CALLED BY YOUR NAME; TAKE AWAY OUR REPROACH.” – Isaiah 4:1

It is no different today; the people give lip service to Jesus Christ, but follow after their own version of "faith" with their man-made traditions, giving themselves their own names under a façade of outward righteousness. They call themselves “Christians” believing their sins are forgiven, but are in outright disobedience.

Just as the people of Israel did not heed the warnings of the Father through His prophets, the denial has become even greater among those who have conformed to what is called “Church.” They refuse to change their ways wanting to continue buying into the “one-more-offerings” that their “lords” require of them.

I could end this article here, as those among the Ekklesia already understand the counterfeit, but for further clarification the following text will attempt to drive home some more points to refute any eisegesis that designated Church officials have “cherry-picked” for themselves to maintain their elevated platforms professionally living off of the “Gospel.”

"DO NOT BE CALLED LEADERS; for One is your Leader, that is, Christ. – Matthew 23:10

The word “leaders” in Greek is kathegetes (2519) and can be split into two different roots:

Kata (2596) – down from, down over and down upon

Hegetes (2233) – to lead, go first, to lead the way and to go before

We can see right here that Jesus was condemning being under the authority of any man who is in their fellowship. To deny his words means that you have left God’s Kingdom for man’s kingdom.

The Church hirelings love to have their pet verses such as the following:

OBEY YOUR LEADERS AND SUBMIT TO THEM, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. – Hebrews 13:17

The Common Clergy Pet Verse Refuted

  • Does the author of Hebrews contradict and overrule Jesus’ very own words?

The Church hireling sure thinks so and will push verses like these into your face.

What I have come to learn in my reading of Scripture is that Jesus’ words always take precedence over a follower of Christ. What I mean is that Scripture must be reconciled through the teaching of Jesus. Secondly, the supposed contradiction of the words of any follower of Christ in Scripture must be reconciled with Jesus’ words, which requires deeper study. Third, it must be a given that anything that comes from the teachings of the Church system will ALWAYS be an attempt to corrupt true faith at the expense of Christ’s teaching as they will twist other Scripture verses to further the agenda of their religious traditions.

Fallen human authority will abuse God's Word to justify their own brand of “Christianity.” They clearly ignore Jesus words; “It shall not be so among you.”

Honouring men through man-made religious systems disobeys the spirit of the Lord. That is why the masses in their blindness surrender themselves to another “mediators.”

  • How many sheep have been captured, sheered, fleeced and butchered because of the twisting of Hebrews 13:17?

Let’s take a deeper look at this verse.

The word for leader in Greek is hegeomai, which means to lead, go first, to go before and lead the way. The term rendered is void of meaning “ruling over;” therefore, it should be no surprise that the verse does not contradict Jesus’ own words.

Even the word “obey” (3982) does not mean surrendering to someone who has more authority, but means to give the benefit of the doubt to, or be persuaded by.

  • Can you see that there is a huge difference and big deception if one believes that “obey” means submission to an official authority?

This is a pandemic in the Church system today.

For those among the Ekklesia, Hebrews 13:17 should be understood as follows,

“Allow yourselves to be persuaded by those who go before you because they lead by example. They care about your souls and look out for your best interests as ones who will give account. May we benefit from each others joy.”

Where there is a community of believers, it is only natural that the more mature look after the immature through discretion of Jesus Christ.

This is by far much different than the man-made engineering of authoritative hierarchical structures imposed on the flock where the sheep are scattered all over the place seeking after human “mediators.”

Immature lambs have no idea that they are being served up as rack-of-lamb to the ravenous wolves that want to consume them.

Do not be enslaved in the religious systems of men, but be free. Don’t let religious men deceive you into dependence upon cookie-cutter religious practices that create a perpetual dependence upon salaried church officials to guide you.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is our Teacher, Pastor, Overseer and Shepherd. We are all brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ who are all of equal value relating to one another on the basis of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us and the gifts the Father has given us.

  • Is Jesus Christ your Shepherd?

Think about it.

Many say yes, but are under an antichrist overlord that Jesus Christ despises.

If Jesus Christ is truly your Shepherd, then you will have the discernment to deny the mammon of the Nicolaitan Church system.

Little children, KEEP YOURSELVES FROM IDOLS. – 1 John 5:21

  • Do you want to stand before the judgment of Jesus Christ because you have willfully chosen to partake of a system that is steeped in deadly deception and error?

Come out of the harlot system, repent and seek after the Good Shepherd who will guide you into His Kingdom. It is a narrow path of brokenness and repentance, but the Spirit of Christ will give you the strength to endure and persevere to become an overcomer.

Are you apart of the the Nicolaitan system?

"no one recognizes it for what it is"

I have enjoyed reading the consolidation of much of the deception that is the heart beat of the religious system in America today. I grew up in the system. I watched the system spread itself everywhere the laity could be convinced to finance the perpetuation of their denomination. I watched those sent out come home with actual scriptural beliefs that got them fired. If you don't believe the weaved story then you cannot play on the team. Wikipedia says there are over 41,000 different stories and teams out there. (so much for Paul's idea of working out our differences)

It all starts in the one little building down the road. It all starts with man wanting to spread their control and domination to others. I've been told it is not about the money, power, control. If it isn't then remove the money and watch the hirelings scatter. Man teaches in order to correct a problem you have to address the "Root" problem. One of the root problems if not the actual taproot is the idea that what God is building requires a vocationally trained person. An actual movement of God doesn't stand a chance with the hierarchy that man has established.

graceinus 18 months ago from those of the Ekklesia

PandN- There is not a church in existance today that can not continue without money. In order to obtain money the clergies of these churches must get the money support from their pew warmers. The control that clergies maintain over them requires the clergy to act in a position of leadership. The pew warmers count on this and believe that the clergy is and always should be treaded with the utmost respect due to the position they believe clergy hold. It is as much fault of the pew warmer as it is the clergy for the blindness they embrace. Every pew warmer has the ability and the means to come out of the harlot system if they wanted to. It's as easy as reading and studying the bible for themselve which can and will open their eyes and seeing the church system for what it really is. For those clergies of the anti-christ churches system it's all about gaining power, control and money.

Anyone can seek the Kingdom of God without man lording over them . It's as easy as reading and studying the word of God. Many fall for the trappings of churches and what they think church have to offer. But you never find or hear of a clergy in a church seeking the Kingdom of God for you. Each individual, if he/she is a true disciple of Christ, must seek for themselves. There are a few individuals out there who do spread the message of the gospel of the Kingdom. Hear what they say and then study it and seek the Kingdom of God for yourselves. It is a command from Jesus Christ to spread the gospel of the Kingdom, but you will never hear of it coming from clergies of churches. Because they have no idea what it is, nor do they understand.

Great article PandN. And God bless.

Today’s churches are nothing more than self-serving “religious” institutions, which by nature are divisions among those who call themselves Christians. These divisions are more on the order of competing “franchises” than a unified body. These franchises bear their own name brand of “Christianity” and ceaselessly compete with each other for the same target customer – those who call themselves Christians. They market their particular brand of Christianity as the truth, yet condescendingly endorse competing brands as legitimate while encouraging their members never to stray from their brand. The ultimate goal for their franchise is no different than any secular provider of consumer goods or services – to increase their market share and profits and to put their competition out of business.

In this case, churches are similar to restaurants in that they both compete for the same target market – hungry people looking for a particular type of food. Restaurants compete for those hungry for organic food and churches compete for those hungry for religious food. Restaurants offer many different kinds of organic foods like Chinese, Mexican, Italian, etc.; likewise, churches offer many different kinds of religious foods like Catholic, Baptist, Pentecostal, etc. However, the big difference between the two kinds of foods is that most restaurant food recipes come from different ethnic regions and cultures, whereas somewhat strangely, church food recipes all come from the same book – the bible.

When someone invites you to go to a restaurant you will probably ask, what “kind” of restaurant? You ask this question to determine what kind of food to expect. And that’s understandable because everyone has different food preferences and tastes. Likewise, when someone invites you to go to church you will probably ask, what “kind” of church? You ask this question to determine what kind of religion to expect. And that’s also understandable because everyone has different religious preferences and tastes.

There is however one common element between restaurants and churches - the “words” restaurant and church. A Chinese restaurant and a Mexican restaurant are both restaurants that serve food, but the two serve totally different cuisines. A Catholic church and a Baptist Church are both churches that serve religious food, but the two serve totally different religions.

This church-restaurant analogy serves to confirm that as there are many different kinds of restaurants serving many different kinds of food, so too there many different kinds of churches serving many different kinds of religion; with both restaurants and churches trying to beat-out or eliminate their competition.

People may call themselves “Christian” and say that being a Christian is the common bond and that it doesn’t matter what “church” you belong to. So if that is the case, why don’t they stop serving and supporting divisions created by church “brands” and come together to resolve their differences as instructed by the Apostle Paul to unite as one body and be led by the one who said no one should call themselves leaders and that there is but one who leads – Jesus Christ?

The answer is simple. The “leaders of the brands” know that their stature, power and livelihood depend on the divisions that they lead among Christians.

Continue with Neil's analogy

There are a lot of us that have become concerned with our health and what we put in our mouths. It doesn't take long to figure out that by staying away from the fast food franchises we begin to slowly get better. Then we realize it just isn't the fast food joints but also the supermarkets that need to be shopped with caution. In time we figure out that if man has messed with something God made it will more than likely not accomplish what God intended it to do.

The only difference between a church and a fast food restaurant, is churches lack the drive up window. But hey, give em time.

Graceinus,

It is deplorable and should be obvious if anyone studied the words of Jesus that the Church system defies in practice the principles of the Kingdom of God.

I was talking with a lady who volunteered at the local food bank in my city that gives out food hampers to those who are in need. She had a client come into her office from one of the local churches wanting bread for their church luncheon. She said their church did not have enough money to purchase bread to make sandwiches.

What is sad is the fact that the clergy of this church are making a salary off the backs of the people, but they cannot afford to purchase their own bread. They must resort to going to the community food bank that provides free food to the poor and take it from them.

But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind - Luke 14:13

I guess this church believes that before they give a feast they must first take the food meant for the poor, crippled, the lame and the blind and take it for themselves at no cost. Then they can commence in having their special luncheons for their esteemed members. I'm sure he pastor gobbled down a few sandwiches happily knowing that his salary still remained intact.

Rich,

I too grew up in the hierarchal denominational Church system for most of my life.

I was recently invited to partake in a church barbecue to honor a pastor who had stepped down from ministry. The elder of that Church told me that it was to honor the legacy of that particular man who founded that Church.

Of course I could not partake in that activity. I will only honor the ONE who founded, and is building the ekklesia.

The "tap root" of every denomination can be traced back to their special esteemed men. They love to talk about their "founding fathers" as their many names rolls off their tongues.

Somehow they must have missed Jesus' words along the way,

And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my ekklesia, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. - Matthew 16:18

Anneliese 18 months ago

I used to tell the Lord that He looked more like the Mafia then they did, I was a babe in Christ and hurting badly, guts hanging out and Pastors accusing me of being REBEILIOUS. I did not even know what rebellion meant, what I knew was that I did not have money to feed myself and could not give all the money that was demanded from me.

In the meantime I learned that it was not my Lord that demanded that nonsense from me it was my "SHEPARD"

I had to learn that the Lord does not require us to go with out while the Pastors are living in the large houses and driving fancy cars and the little old ladies go without food to be in God's good graces. The last Pastor I had I cleaned their house while she was fussing all the time talking about how demonic the ladies in church were.

We left BABYLON! We have learned that God is good and He has ways of doing things and way not to do them. Our Prayer has been for years "Father reveal the lies in our hearts and give us the courage to walk in your Truth"

Anneliese,

Thank-you so much for sharing your experience.

To seek first the Kingdom of God one must leave the corruption of Babylon. I am encouraged that you had the courage to leave and seek truth instead.

Since I left Bablyon, God has revealed so much of the lies that I bought into for most of my life within the Church system. I am no longer a Church minion, but a disciple of Jesus Christ and learning his ways instead of elite religious men.

God Bless.
