It was astronomer Parke Kunkle of Minnesota, USA, who announced that the Earth is currently at different spot in relation to the sun, and its equatorial alignment has changed about 3,000 years ago coinciding the study of stars and constellations or Astrology.

Star doctor Kunkle explains that " the Earth wobbles on it's axis and has created a one-month bump in the alignment of the stars. Because of the change on Earth's tilt, the sun, in effect, will also change its angle and so the positions of different constellations or group of stars representing the 12 Zodiac signs or twelve months of the year.

This magnetic shift or tilt will affect the gravitational pull of the moon, as it is happening now. Floods are everywhere; in Australia, Brazil, Pakistan and of course, Philippines. Since the Earth is a semi-solid planet, the bump on its axis causes the extreme weather conditions happening all over the world.

It was like watching the JIm Carrey's movie, "Bruce Almighty" when he changed the moon's distance just to please his fiancée; causing disasters everywhere.

As astrologers reveal, the Age of Ophiuchus has come. It is located between the constellation of Scorpio and Sagittarius which we can see with our naked eyes at night. In Greek word, it means serpent holder. It crosses at the celestial equator of our galaxy, the Milky Way. It is even associated with the Dark Rift or the Black Hole that is depicted to absorb all things that passes through it. Greek mythology featured such character that will interest you on your readings.

Astrologers during the Babylonian era didn't include Ophiuchus because of its controversial connnotation. Being the 13th Zodiac sign is unowrthy because it's an unlucky number. It is the secreat sign that has the critical clues about the last days.

Even Nostradamus, the greatest seer of the future, was fascinated of the sign's rule in the universe.End of the world prophecy is often associated with the sign, so, astrologers decided to exclude it from the regular twelve signs.

Astrology and Zodiac Signs

Defining Astrology can result to three things: systems, traditions and beliefs. It is connected with the formation of the Sun, Earth, moon and other celestial bodies (planets and stars) that can provide information about personality, human affairs and other earthly matters.

The media incorporates the readings or predictions on Astrology everyday that it became the past time of many people around the world. I'm skeptic about those astrologers predicting what will happen next years or what will become with known personalities in the society.

In 2006, the US National Science Board published a statement concluding astrology as pseudoscientific or just superstitions based from results of 10 survey items.

Now that the 13th sign is added this year 2011, many speculations surfaced. Identity crisis, confusion and the big change.

I was born under the Zodiac sign of Aries, the Ram on March 25th. Now I belong to Pisces.

It's okay to be confused these days, but here's the new dates on zodiac signs. Don't blame me. Blame it to the 'snake bearer', Ophiuchus.

Capricorn: Jan. 20 - Feb. 16
Aquarius: Feb. 16 - March 11
Pisces: March 11- April 18
Aries: April 18- May 13
Taurus: May 13- June 21
Gemini: June 21- July 20
Cancer: July 20- Aug. 10
Leo: Aug. 10- Sept. 16
Virgo: Sept. 16- Oct. 30
Libra: Oct. 30- Nov. 23
Scorpio: Nov. 23- Nov. 29
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29- Dec. 17
Sagittarius: Dec. 17- Jan. 20

Horoscopic astrology is believed to develop from Hellenistic Egypt, greatly influenced by Alexander the Great of Greece around late 2nd or 1st century BC. It is the most influential form of astrology around the world.

Meanwhile, defining the human traits of those who are born under the Zodiac sign of Ophiuchus will mean "bearer of peace", as astrologers observed.

In Japanese horoscope, its symbol is like the one used in medicine, meaning the healer.

Famous Hollywood entertainers who belong to the zodiac sign of Ophiuchus are Taylor Swift and Britney Spears.

Interesting information about the Zodiac and your sign. Though I am not sure where you have gotten your dates. I am a Capricorn and disappointed that I am a goat. The Capricorns date is Dec. 22 to Jan. 20th. I believe all your dates are a month off. But I did enjoy this hub.

I got it Mr. Parke Kunkle's data himself. It's a month off because of Ophiuchus. Blame it on him. LOL! (laughing out loud!) I just have to wait and see if it tallies to your information on newspaper or magazine. The're a daily set of horoscope readings on it. Thanks, Sandy.

I often mispronounced the name. Sometimes I blurted it as Octopus or Ochiupus, but the right name is O-P-H-I-U-C-H-U-S. It's a sort of tongue-twister. Maybe we should have a contest on it. (LOL!)

I heard some people are very sad when they know their signs are changed.

@psychic power network: Yes. But me, being an Aries, I'm not bothered with the change of zodiac sign. I am now a Pisces but I don't rely my life much on my daily readings. It's still up to me to decide what's best for my future.

Hi Travel man-thanks for the interesting hub. I'm so glad that you wrote this hub. I've been curious about it ever since I read my daughter, Cara's hub about the changes. (see hubber: cardelean) I am also an Aries, have been all my life, LOL So, I intend on hanging onto my old zodiac sign. Nice job. :) How are you?

@Denise H: Hi, Ms. D! I'm just fine, although there is always difficulty completing my hubs these days because of poor signal in our place. Ophiuchus is the neglected sign of the Zodiac, although its constellation is visible to our naked eyes. Yes, I'm gonna follow your daughter, Cara, too!

Ophiuchus is not included, travel man. Zodiac astrologers didn't want to disturb the 'peace' of the 12 original signs.

As for me, I don't mind the additional sign that made 13 zodiac signs in all. 13 is a lucky number for Mama Sez and me. Cheers!

Wow I actually didn't know about this 13th sign. This really shifts the signs. I have bunch of books on astrology but none of them really mention it anywhere, that's strange actually.

As far as I'm concerned, this is somebody's way of making money or obtaining their 15 minutes of fame. I was born a Leo and will always be a Leo.

Astrology is a vast subject but the short answer is western astrology, what most follow in America, is not changing because American's use a tropical zodiac that is fixed to the seasons and equinoxes and not to the constellations them selves. so the sign you have always been is what you will always be.

Here's one of the many links I looked at

@Eternal Evolution: Yes, I was also told by other astrologers and enthusiasts about it. So I must set aside the notion that Ophiuchus will be included on the usual readings in Astrology.

Thanks for visiting.

Hey, for anyone who says this is fake, the other zodaic calender we had for about 3K years that was fake and a mistake (Ryhme LOL!) but still if you find that you are fitting in with your new zodiac, i hope u r happy (Oh, and I remain a pisces so it dosent effect me:). And for anyone who notices Scorpius only has 6 days that is correct for anyone out there who has an iPad, you should get this app called GoSkyWatchPlanetarium, look for the elliptical(Path the sun follows which is the yellow line) and look for Scorpius you can see that there is only a tiny piece of Scorpius touches the elliptical (and how Zodiac Signs are formed is when the sun is in the front of the constellation) Hope this helped you understand better:)

@robbrt: Thanks for the explanation.

Although, my mind centers on the Creator and fades away with my former fascination and fixation on Zodiac signs before, still I still look up at the sky during a starry night to locate Ophiuchus.
