Oppression, Possession, and Depression Part 1

I scream, You scream, We all scream for Ice Cream
Praise the Lord Saints.
I want to just share with you all the difference between being oppressed, possessed and depressed. Go with me for one moment and imagine this....
Take a bowl of vanilla ice cream. Now pour chocolate syrup on it. That ice cream is still vanilla just smothered in chocolate. This is what we call oppression. See we must understand something. We must understand that once we came into the knowledge of Christ we became new creatures. Old things are passed away and behold all things became new.
I will briefly speak on Gody and sinful oppression because there is a lot of ground to cover.
As with that same vanilla ice cream that has become oppressed with the chocolate, there was a covering. Life situations can oppress us but we are still children of God. It is only by resisting the devil and being steadfast and unmoveable always dwelling in the word of the Lord that we don't allow the chocolate the mix.
Psalms 91:1 says, " HE THAT DWELLETH IN THE SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH GOD SHALL ABIDE UNDER THE SHADDOW OF THE ALMIGHTY." With that being said, We can become oppressed with God's love. That chocolate syrup covered us in the secret place. When making a sundae with nuts, the nuts stick to the chocolate syrup not the vanilla ice cream. When we are dwelling in that secret place no matter what comes our way it will stick to the chocolate and not to us.
That is why it is very important to put on the whole armor of God so we can withstand the attacks of the enemy.
Now...Some of us love to mix the chocolate syrup in our ice cream.
Note this Saints...If you are a child of God you can not be possessed. You can be opressed.
When you mix the syrup in this case (sin) with God's anointing (vanilla ice cream) it changes shape, color, texture, and consistancy. This is called a POSSESSION. The chocolate syrup has possessed the vanilla by taking it over.
I don't see too many of us will be mixing our syrup in our ice cream anymore after this.
But once a possession has taken place it is very hard for it to return back to its natural state. You can add whatever ingredient you wish to make it vanilla again but it will never happen.
The only way to become free from a possession is to add more vanilla. If only one spoonful was contaminated it will take 10 to purify it. Even then there will still be traces left behind. With this said, we must remember that Jesus blood and righteousness is the only thing that can wash away our sins and make us pure as snow.
Now we have covered Oppression and Possession. Lets talk about Depression.
Depression is a psycological term for sadness. When vanilla ice cream is put into a sandwich it is depressed between the cookies. We all get cookies thrown into our way but just like oppression will we allow them to stick? None of us were born with depression, it was a learned condition through many tests, trials, and tribulations that we failed to overcome. The ice cream will never see the light of day until the cookies were taken off.
Its the anointing that destroys the yoke. Christ set the captives free. There is nothing too hard for God.
If you let the mind of Christ be in you all these things wouldn't be a factor in your lives. You can speak to them to be removed and they have to obey. All it takes is the faith of the mustard seed. Without faith its impossible to please God. Because faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Therefore put your faith the the test. Make your faith work. Because faith without works is dead.
All things work together for the good of them who loves the lord and are called according to his purpose.
Remember Romans 8:38-39
FOR I AM PURSUADED THAT NEITHER DEATH NOR LIFE, NOR ANGELS, NOR PRINCIPALITIES, NOR POWERS, NOR THINGS PRESENT, NOR THINGS TO COME, NOR HEIGHT, NOR DEPTH, NOR ANYOTHER CREATURE, SHALL BE ABLE TO SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD WHICH IS IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD.
Also Remember 2 Corinthian 4:8-9
WE ARE TROUBLED ON EVERY SIDE YET NOT DISTRESSED, WE ARE PERPLEXED BUT NOT IN DESPAIR;
PERSECUTED BUT NOT FORSAKEN; CAST DOWN BUT NOT DESTORYED.
I pray this word has brought forth change in your lives.
Love always,
Pastor Andrews
