Our Perfect Hope In God
Our Perfect Hope In God
“But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more. My mouth will tell of your righteousness, of your salvation all day long, though I know not its measure.”
Psalm 71 : 14 -15
I admire people who do not easily give up , who continue to strive hard inspite of all the odds encountered. I admire my sister’s friend named Josie. Josie is already in her sixties yet inspite of her age she has not stopped from exploring new ventures in life. She is always excited about pursuing new sales ventures inspite of her previous failures in sales. As Christians we have all the reasons to always have hope inspite of unpleasant circumstances in life. We have indeed a great anchor in the Lord to carry out with our life amidst unpleasant and unfavorable circumstances.
Our Lord is a “ God of Hope” . He always give new beginning, fresh hope for each new day. His love and mercy is fresh every new morning. Our God always provide help to the hopeless and destitute. It is the God of Hope who gives new beginning to a once downcast soul named Bert Lopez.
Bert Lopez in his younger years shine in his chosen career as comics illustrator. He worked in a renowned publication as its priced illustrator for Bert Lopez is a very talented artist. He was the illustrator of some famous novelist such as Mars Ravelo. Because of such great talent, great projects came along his way. Alongside with great projects came great financial and material success. He acquired properties and material possessions and enjoyed a life of prosperity with his family.
But not far too long, a great affliction came to his life. Bert Lopez was still at the prime of his career when he was afflicted with leprosy. Because of leprosy, he lost his job, his career, his friends and his beloved family. All were gone suddenly because of leprosy. One day Bert Lopez found himself in a Christian shelter house for the patients of leprosy. It was there that he found the truth of the Gospel and experienced the love and mercy of a loving God. Bert Lopez received his healing from leprosy and found a new hope in the Lord and a new beginning in life. He is now planning to restore his work as an artist. Truly the Lord is the giver of hope to the hopeless.
As Christians our hope is ever alive in the Lord. Amidst the unfavorable circumstances that we encounter in our everyday life, we have a great shield and comfort in the Lord. He is the everlasting “Tower of Refuge”. He will never fail us. He will never leave us nor forsake us. His love and mercy is always fresh every new day. As long as our hearts are right and we are living in thecenter of His will we can always have confidence that He is on our side in times of distress and calamities. I myself have already experienced the deliverance of the Lord through countless distresses I encountered in my life.
Inspite of unpleasant occurrences happening all over the world such as natural calamities, wars and rumors of wars, news of worldwide economic recession and financial crisis, rise of violence everywhere, I could still have hope and have confidence in living because I have a great God to hold onto. And surely He will come to deliver me. I have a perfect hope in Him and He is the ultimate source of security.
After all the afflictions and trials I experienced in this life, as for me I will always have hope for I have known my God who has seen me through throughout all the storms of life. He is the greatest shield in this life. He is our perfect security and in Him we have a perfect hope.
