Our Saviours’ proper name!

Our Saviours’ proper name is NOT Jesus but Yeshua.

Our Saviours’ proper name is not “Jesus” but “Yeshua”.

The closest Greek name, if one wants to use it, is ”IESU”/”IESOUS”, (Strongs #2424) properly pronounced “ee-ay-sooce” (emphasis on the ee, not the ce), as in “EASU”.

The closest Latin name, for Yeshua, “IESV” (from which the English word came), is enunciated as “YASU” in German, Japanese, Chinese and many other languages.

Yeshua wasn’t Greek; He was Hebrew; so why on earth would we want to call Him by any other or different name than His Hebrew name Yeshua? When your name is “John”, will you be called “Bill” in Japan, “Frank” in South Africa – no, it will stay “John”.

From what I have been able to put together, there is no “sh” sound in Greek, so the original “sh” sound in the Hebrew / English; Yeshua could not be properly translated into Greek no matter how they tried.

To get the word Yeshua to even begin to sound like grammatical Greek, they had to add the “s” sound to the end of the name.

Therefore the Hebrew Yeshua ended up mistranslated to the English Yeshua to Jesus. Why do Messianic Jews use the name "Yeshua" rather than “Jesus"?

Well, first and foremost it is because Yeshua is His given Hebrew name. "Yeshua is the hellenized-anglicized form of "Yeshua", which means "Salvation".

Yeshua never heard the name Jesus in His lifetime. Think about that for a moment; our precious Messiah was never once called Jesus, and yet millions of Christians insist on calling Him this strange name.

When He walked the face of this earth He was always called "Yeshua". This is similar to "Joshua / Yoshua", a common Hebrew name at that time.

Whether people like it or not; “Yeshua”, the name most Believers use for the “Son of (God) YHVH,” was a Jew, His proper name is “YESHUA”, (Strongs #3444), which in Hebrew means (salvation, or Yahveh saves), or “Yeshua Hamashiach” - meaning “Yeshua the Messiah”.

Some say that the word “Jesus” In fact could be considered the English translation of the “sun god” deity known as “Zeus” or “Je-Zeus”, “Gee-Zeus”.

Shocking Discovery!

So why do Yeshua respond to the name “Jesus” if it is not his real name?

Well I believe that Yeshua is a loving and mercifully God and He knew that we all would have been fooled by Satan trough the ages, with this error of the Bible translations, so He responds to your hearts cry, trough His perfect love.

With knowledge come responsibility, so what are you going to do with this truth?

What do you think is our Saviours’ proper name?

God's names and attributes

It is essential to know God, His names and His attributes, because if we worship Him we must worship Him in Spirit and truth, for what and who God is.

Only God can reveal what He is like in one sense, in the Second Commandment God tells mankind: “Don’t try to tell Me what "I Am" like. I will tell you what "I Am" like!

It is important that you correctly understand that I will accept no representations of Me.”

If we worship something that is not in God’s names or character or one of His attributes, we are creating and worshipping our own god. That is called idolatry and is totally against the Word of God.

  • God is Spirit and He is the truth.
  • God is the beginning and the end (“Alpha and Omega”).
  • He is Mighty and strong (“El Elohim”, God Almighty).
  • He is God all – seeing (“El Roi”, to see or to provide).
  • He is a consuming fire (“Yahweh Qanna”) and a jealous God.
  • He is the Holy One (“Qadosh”, to be pure and clean).
  • Before creation there was no King. God created Himself a Spiritual Kingdom to rule over and He became the First King, the perfect King or Lord (“Adonai”, to rule or to be sovereign).
  • He is the Ruler of the seen (The physical) as well as well as the unseen World (The spiritual). God is King of all Kings.
  • Jesus is also described as King of Kings and the Lord of Lords in Revelation 19:16.
  • Th greek word for “king” is basileus from the root word basis – and it is translated as “foot” (where all the power and rule of a king originates).
  • He is also our Provider in all our needs (“Yahweh Jireh”, to see, to foresee or to provide).
  • He is also our healer (“Yahweh Rapha”, to mend or to cure).
  • He is the Lord our Shepherd (“Yahweh Rohi”, to pasture a flock or to rule).
  • He also reveals Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
  • God shows us His great love by saying that He is our “Abba Father”.
  • He also shows us His love by giving mankind His greatest gift, Jesus, the Saviour of the world. (“Yahweh Yasha Ga’al”), the Lord our Saviour and Redeemer).
  • God showed also His mercy to mankind in love, by giving mankind His only Son, a Saviour. He would be called Prince of peace (“Yahweh Shalom”, to make safe, well, healthy, happy, and prosperous). God also revealed Himself as God, All – sufficient, God Invincible (“El Shaddai”, to be robust or powerful) and (“El Nasa”, to lift or release – God Forgiving).

These names of God are to help you see the true God, there are many more names and titles of the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. I have touched on but a few.

We need to realise that God Is love and we need to know His attributes (qualities).

The “absolute” (attribute) characteristics or qualities of God.

  • He is a personal loving God and He is invisible, and immortal (God can not die).
  • God is not limited by any resources;
  • God is the highest authority that there is (has sovereignty),
  • God is not limited by time, He is outside of time (eternal),
  • He can not be moved by changing circumstances (immutable).
  • He is God united in three (“el-o-heem”); Father, Son and Holy Spirit, they are equal in every sense but have different functions.
  • He revealed Himself to mankind in three Persons, but as One God (“YHWH”)

God’s “active” (attribute) characteristics or qualities.

  • God is absolute; all powerful (Omnipotent),
  • God is absolute; all knowing (Omniscient),
  • God is absolute; all present (Omnipresent).

God’s “Moral” (attribute) characteristics or qualities.

  • God is different from us in that He is absolute in Holiness,
  • Love,
  • Truthfulness,
  • Faithfulness,
  • Righteousness,
  • Mercy,
  • Grace,
  • Goodness,
  • Kindness
  • Longsuffering (Ephesians 5:22).
  • He loves us,
  • He is honest with us,
  • we can trust Him,
  • He deals rightly with us,
  • He feels compassion for our miseries,
  • He made provision for our needs,
  • He desires for our welfare,
  • He shows concern for us
  • He is patient with us.

God (Yahweh) is a supreme being that is perfect in all His being and in all things (the upholder of all). He is ruler over the seen as well as over the unseen kingdoms.

Psalm 83:18: May they know that you alone are the LORD, supreme ruler over all the earth. (GNB) (JEHOVAH, [art] the most high over all the earth. (NKJ))

I believe that His true name will be restored with all the false altars, restored. God said that He will restore the true bride in all truth in the last days. His name will be Yeshua again forever, when the lie has been exposed.

Jy dink Ek is net soos jy!

Efe 4:18 mense wat verduisterd is in die verstand en vervreemd van die lewe van God deur die onkunde wat in hulle is vanweë die verharding van hulle hart;

Efe 4:26 Word toornig en moenie sondig nie; laat die son nie ondergaan oor julle toorn nie;

Amen

From Daniel and other sources, the contextual and historical meaning of the “abomination of desolation” is the desecration of the Temple when Antiochus erected a statue of Zeus inside the temple and sacrificed a pig on the altar on December 25, 167 B. C. in honor of the birth of the Sun god.

This single act of desolation so incited the Jews that it began a revolt which ended in Jewish independence for the first time since 586 B. C. This end of foreign rule has been celebrated as the important Jewish festival of Hanukkah, meaning “dedication” (of the sanctuary) from 164 B. C. until today. - Source, Exploring the Book of Daniel: An Expository Commentary By John Phillips - P.256, Grand Rapids, MI : Kregel Publications, ©2004., - Prophecy Forum / Antiochus

After 169 BC, he encouraged his people to worship him as the Greek god Zeus, taking the title “Theos Epiphanes”, meaning “the manifest God”, believing that he was an incarnation of Zeus. His enemies called him “Epimanes”, meaning “mad-man”, a change which only required altering a single letter in the Greek.

Later in his reign, Antiochus IV became the first king to issue coins on which he proclaimed himself to be a god. He was portrayed as Zeus enthroned with the inscription, “King Antiochus. God Manifest, Bearing Victory”. - Antiochus Ephiphanes

Apollo is literally the son of Zeus. (The "bá' ál shámáyîm" that the phrase "shíqqûç shômem" literally refers to)

Lamb is replaced with Ham. Passover (called the Blood and flesh of Christ) is replaced with a golden cup in Rome and a wafer with the actual charagma of Baal on it, straight from the "Temple Of The Sun" in ancient Babylon as if lifted from a modern archeological photo?

Tamarajo, you can get the Hebrew Names Translation or you could get the Nazarene Translation Bible. Both have the original Bible names for people and God.

What I will do with this truth is to call Him Yeshua....This hub is totally awesome. Voted up, beautiful, awesome, and useful. I have known about some of His Holy Names. but this work of yours has truly opened my eyes to the many names He does have.

I am wondering why even tho explained above somewhat, even in the New Testament, He is referred to as Jesus...is this due as I think I understand, the mis translation of His Name....Certainly we should call Him by his proper name.

Interestingly enough, I have a copy of the Lords Prayer, which is sung in Aramaic .... the person singing states that this is the true language Yeshua spoke....what say you louisfourie?

Many blessings to you and may God keep you and your family safe from harm....

Louis great write here,so very true about the correct name for the Son of God,yes why have they changed his name, nowhere in the Bible do we see that anyone called him Jesus, no one ever spoke out calling to Jesus to come here.

Many thanks.

God loves you

I repent. You are right. I wouldn't want to be called by any other name than my own. Too bad they won't change the different translations to reflect this truth. It hit me when you said He was never called Jesus when He walked the Earth. If others refer to Him as Jesus, I will be graceful. But when speaking myself, I will use His real name. Thank you so much for this!
