Do you really believe that you can Overcome?

As Christians we were taught to overcome all obstacles but talking to members of different churches they hold the view that no man can really live that sinless life. Well, God have asked us to overcome sin, do you think, somehow God was trying to play with our minds?

If we don’t overcome this world and the sins thereof according to the word of God we will not be able the enter into God’s kingdom.

The question today is, do you believe that you can overcome?

I am writing this hub with sincere love for all hubbers and for all who desire God’s Kingdom.

I wish for all of us to be saved from the clutches of the enemy and to make it into life eternal.

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

3 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

These are people who contemplate that they had overcame and were worthy, took them selves before God, only to realize that they were not over comers. My intention is to try to help us all from avoiding this same down fall.

Remember the main topic for this hub is Overcoming by knowing who you are? Read on.

Act 19:13

Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, we adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

Act 19:13

(ASV) But certain also of the strolling Jews, exorcists, took upon them to name over them that had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

Act 19:14

And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? The devil knew Jesus, he knew Paul, from the scripture we learnt that Jesus knew who he was and Paul acknowledge who he was. Can you confess today who you are? let's continue.

:16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

If this happened now a lot of folks would have a great laugh.

:17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. :18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. :19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

Rev 3:21

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

1John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Do we really believe? This is one power text from the word of God

Luke 11:22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.

Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

The letter to the Churches

Rev 2:7

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Rev 2:11

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Rev 2:17

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

There seem to be a lot of promises made by Christ himself to all that will overcome.

When we promise our children good gifts for doing well at something, what we are actually doing is encouraging that child to do well. Jesus Christ encourages the church to overcome.

Examining the scriptures slowly suggest that Christ Is also motivating the members of the Church to do well.

Rev 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Rev 3:21

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Rev 21:7

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

So here we see the many rewards for overcoming.

Speaking of the woman caught in the very act of adultery Jesus Christ encouraged her to sin noo more. I believe Jesus know that it is possible hence forth he gave the command.

John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

The message is, God gave us everything we need to overcome, and He is saying to us now no matter what, where, or why you are my child go sin no more. I keith believe in you, Jesus believes in you too, take the power of the Holy Spirit, and use it to overcome all sins. I know through Jesus Christ that we can overcome, and you will agree with me on that, but do you really believe it. Speak it each day and let us all be overcomers.
