Learn to Trust God!

~ Proverbs 3 The Goldmine Of Spiritual Wisdom ~

Benefits of Wisdom

God is Love !” Since godly wisdom comes from God love is an integral and essential part of His wisdom! What is LOVE really? According to I Corinthians 13; Love is patient, Love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs, Love does not delight in evil, but REJOICES IN TRUTH. It always, protects, always trusts, always, hopes, always, preserves. LOVE NEVER FAILS!”

As you go through these Proverbs please keep in mind God’s definition of Love! Love means many things to different people. It has become a mixed up term and many are confused! They think it means how good someone makes you feel! This type only mimics true Love. It is what I call “intoxicating affections” it does not last! Question: If God is Love is it possible to truly love without Him? The Word says “LOVE NEVER FAILS!” If this was truly embraced we would have a lot less broken homes, marriages resulting in divorce, and a lot less schisms within the Church! Loyalty and faithfulness are components of Love they serve to provoke one to act responsibly. This Proverbs tells us the importance of not letting love & faithfulness leave you. As a matter of fact it tells us to “Bind them around your neck, write them on the table of your heart.”

God’s Word is so very important! He knows what is “Best” for us this is why trusting Him is so important! We can lean on Him! We must be willing to be open to wise godly counsel. The Word of God is so powerful, one must be led by His Holy Spirit in order to properly understand it! The Holy Spirit helps to identify sin in our lives and directs us how to walk in His ways. It also serves to convict us of any sin that separates us from God! This is not always easy because sin cleverly attempts to cloak itself in so many ways. This is why we need to be prayerful, as the Word says one must “Pray without ceasing” which is a state of mind. God wants to be the “Center” of our lives! The Bible is supposed to be our “Life Manual!” We must pray, seek the face of the Lord, study His Word and apply its principles to our lives daily!

Solomon tells us that we must learn to acknowledge God in everything that we do! We must consistently learn to turn our lives over to the Lord! He is our reason for living! Our attitudes should begin to reflect Him! Our family life should be centered around Him! Our marriage and relationships should be centered around Him! After all He is Our FATHER! Is He your Father? God knows! This happens as we begin to apply His wisdom which is applied TRUTH!

Jesus Christ told us this very same thing. “If you Love Me, You will obey what I command. And I will pray the Father, and He WILL give you another Counselor, to be with you forever ~ The Spirit of TRUTH. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you…” JOHN 14 Jesus taught these principles to His disciples! Are you His disciple? A disciple is a learner, who learns to train and discipline him or herself. In order to become spiritually strong one must learn the difference between right and wrong by God’s standards! The world at large is opposed to GOD’s WAY!

In the Proverbs there are many benefits when they are properly applied to issues, life scenarios and situations. When you are unequally yoked with someone you do not value the same things. The ways of the world becomes your mode of operation. You tend to embrace the world’s way and its standards determines your lifestyle. The Holy Spirit is there to lead you to live and seek out God’s WAY! Long life, peace, prosperity, honor, wealth, well-being are all benefits of His wisdom according to Proverbs! They may not always be readily apparent but some or all of them will be on the horizon at some point! Patience is a part of Love! Wisdom always leads to a Blessing! Remember “GOD IS LOVE !” What does it means to love HIS WAY!

Proverbs; includes general wisdom literature, insights for the royal court and instructions for fathers, mothers and their children. After all we are; “But you are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful LIGHT, Once you were not a people, but NOW you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but NOW you have received mercy.” I Peter 2. There is a wealth of information on how to mentor relationships, the proper way to handle relationship difficulties and the significant importance of having a right relationship with the Lord! The practical application of this wisdom will produce ethical and moral behaviors that are components of godly behavior not rigid legalism! Nor does it ever embrace sex outside of marriage! There are many wisdom benefits in the Proverbs!

Proverbial Lesson Highlights

~ Proverbs 3 ~

Key Verse: “Trust in the LORD with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”

This wonderful Proverb provides great spiritual insight. The wisdom that comes from God is priceless. Listen to what it says; “Blessed is the man who finds wisdom the man that gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than *rubies; NOTHING you desire can be compared to her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways and all her paths are peace…” *A ruby is a beautiful precious gemstone its name comes from ruber the latin word for red! This is a powerful scripture. Ponder here a few moments!

We are living in a time when many are moving away from the Word of God! It is becoming increasingly clear that the manipulations of the world have nested within the walls of many sanctuaries. God’s Word is so often compromised instead of trusting in God their security is in the world. Rather than trust God, they seek the world to provide their security! There are many schisms going on within the Church. There is much going on to devalue the “JOY & PEACE” that one can only find in knowing God! One must really be prayerful. It becomes increasingly clear why Solomon asked the Lord for a discerning heart above everything else! There are many benefits acquiring godly wisdom. But this does not necessarily mean that everything will go smoothly often quite the contrary! As a child of God one must learn towalk by FAITH!”

As you develop your relationship with the Lord you will gain confidence! Your understanding will increase, this will help you to weather the storms, tests and trials of life. Just know the Lord NEVER tempts you! The Holy Spirit will alert you! It is the Comforter the Internal Teacher, The Counselor that opens your understanding! “Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus.” Wisdom is a “tree of life, to those who embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be Blessed.” God never resorts to manipulation, nor does He operate in the dark! God is a God of Light! God is totally aware and you must learn to lean to Him and His Word instead of your own understanding.

The wisdom provided in Proverbs is much needed! Solomon continues to impart His God inspired wisdom and the benefits of TRUST. This is so important because you must learn to not allow the carnal flesh to rule your spirit! “Be still and KNOW.” You instead must seek to use sound judgment and discernment. Sound judgment is inclusive of discernment. As you trust God’s Word, develop your personal relationship with Jesus Christ you can become spiritually stronger and it increasingly becomes your desire to want to live to please Him! One must begin to apply the truths of God’s Word skillfully. His Word is ALIVE and forever unfolding! If you are looking for someone to trust; TRUST GOD! “He Blesses the home of the righteous...”

Proverbs 3 concludes by telling us; “The wise inherit honor, but fools He holds up to shame.”

AMEN DeBorah, AMEN,

"We are living in a time when many are moving away from the Word of God! It is becoming increasingly clear that the manipulations of the world have nested within the walls of many sanctuaries. God’s Word is so often compromised instead of trusting in God their security is in the world. Rather than trust God, they seek the world to provide their security! The uniqueness of the Proverbs is that it teaches us the wisdom of living an honest and moral life. In my mind, to ignore Wisdom is to live foolishly. But, that is just me.

Wisdom emanates from our having a proper relationship with God that acknowledges that He created the world and knows best how we should live. We must as you quoted, " “Trust in the LORD with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” By following his wise instruction, we diminish problems for ourselves and others.

Thank you precious sister for focusing our attention on letting the Lord guide our thoughts, feelings, behaviour and actions. All Glory to His name!

Forever His,

DeBorrah, you started this hub out with my favorite chapter in the Bible - 1 Corinthians 13. It is such a wonderful filter to run other Scripture through. True wisdom begins when we reverance our Creator enough to listen to Him and learn from Him. His Word is light to our feet. Without light, without instruction, we just walk into walls and stub our toes constantly. Thanks for the read, great way to get energized for a new day. "Be still and know" There is great confidence in that. Peace.

Rev Lady, Thank you for your insightful comments! I agree about the Proverbs! They really do reinforce the importance of one living their life before the Lord! Spending time with the Lord is so important! You begin to embrace His principles more and more each day. Your understanding increases and your desire is to please Him rather than man!

One must keep in mind that the ways of God is not like that of the world and many times there will be conflict because of it, even when do the right thing! There is much to try and discredit your testimony! But one can rest assured knowing GOD KNOWS! This is when one must learn to TRUST & have FAITH in GOD and seek His direction! Yes! “He WILL direct your path.”

Thank you for sharing, In His love & Blessings!

You always find the neatest pictures to go with the greatest wisdom. Are those children yours? They are so cute. The smile of the little one reminds me of my daughter Chondra at that age. A daddy's memories are a powerful thing. Anyway, that lean not on your own understanding thing is sometimes easier said than done. It is so natural to fall into using our fleshly mind to "reason" out things instead of letting the great omniscient God lead us without error or sin. Happy Valentine's Day. Love you. Bob.

Nobody, I thought this picture to be beautiful as well, its rich vibrant colorful hues are reflective of the beauty and depth of "WISDOM" found in the Proverbs!

Yes! These are two of my sixteen grandchildren. They Love me to tell them "Bible Stories!" And I must say they are adorable... They can freely tell you a lot about JESUS!

Yes, it is easier said than done. But we must discipline ourselves... It is important for us to always take time and "Be STILL & KNOW" One must listen for the quiet voice within. It is here we are guided by His Holy Spirit into ALL TRUTH! God will never lead us astray...

Thank you Bob, for sharing! His Love & Blessings to you as well!
