Paranormal Experiences Of The Dark Side
There are a lot of things we go through and see in life that we just can't explain or understand. I will be the first to tell you, in the beginning, I didn't believe in ghost. When I was growing up, I was taught to not believe in such foolish things. In 2005, I had an incident that would change my outlook on the paranormal forever. I have learned that it is ok if people don't believe what you say. If they haven't experienced the paranormal, they will not understand you anyway. It is like anything in life, you have to walk those same shoes to fully understand one's perspective.
With the technology that is present at this day and age, we are now able to capture spirits and ghost on EVPs and video. The paranormal world has gained a lot of popularity across the world due to such television shows as Ghost Adventures and Ghost Hunters. An entire new world and perspective has been open, one that wasn't a decade ago. In saying that, I now invite you to the scariest time in my life. This is my story.
We had just moved to the Courtyard Apartments in 2005 and I was actually on my own for the first time in my life. My wife was pregnant and all the pieces of the puzzle were falling in place. Looking back now, there was always a feeling of despair in that apartment. I never realized it at first. At the time, I had a lot of things on my mind.
I never heard or saw anything prior to my experience. Usually, they are prior events that lead up to weird things happening, but this was not that case. Everything that I experienced was quickly brought on. I always fear the way people will judge me. Will they think I am crazy? I hope I don't get that response. I would like to hear what others have experienced or gone through.
I remember laying in bed with my wife watching television. My wife was already fast asleep and I was tired myself. I looked at the clock and it was 2:23 A.M. I tried to steal some covers from my wife but she wasn't having it. It was a hot night anyway so I did without. I always lay on my left side so I had my back toward my wife. She is always a heavy sleeper. The next thing I know, I feel something touch my leg. I turn around to greet her with a goodnight kiss and she is still in the same position. It puzzled me. I thought it may be from lack of sleep so I just laid back down.
I am once again laying on my left side and I feel something touch my leg again. I turn around quickly and she is still on her right side as before. I look at the clock and it is 2:29 A.M. At this point, I am feeling uneasy. I am trying to figure out what is going on. I keep an eye on my wife, to see if she is messing with me. I tap her and mess with her hair, but no response. I look around the room and it is nearly like I am picking up on something. It's hard to explain, so I would say it is a natural reaction from my body. What's going on?
I lay back down, this time flat on my back. The touches were more like feeling someone grab your leg and squeeze a little bit. I had to get back up at six in the morning so I tried to go back asleep. As soon as I close my eyes, I am grabbed! I open my eyes only to see or hear nothing. The next thing I know, I have lost all motor functions to my body. I can't move at all. I remember being so confused at first. The first thing that comes to mind is to scream for my wife. I tried so hard, but nothing was coming out. The entire time that my body was controlled, all I could do is move my eyes a little to the right and left. I couldn't move them like normal. Out of the corner of my right eye, I see my wife still sleeping.
I was completely helpless. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't do anything. At this point, I am terrified. I wasn't even thinking about what had me. After a minute or two, I gave up. I tried to scream at my wife, but nothing was coming out. I could hear myself screaming inside, but nothing was coming out of my mouth. I thought I was going to die.
The next thing I know, I am threw to the floor. I don't hit the ground though. I am elevated a few inches off the floor. My body is now stretched all the way out and I am elevated off the ground face down. I can't move, I can't scream, all I can do is move my eyes a little to the left and right. At this point, I am watching the floor.
I don't know how long I was in that position. The only thing I remember is having difficulty breathing. I can't breathe no more. It seemed like I was in that position for a long time. I remember feeling weaker and weaker. Then suddenly, I am thrown back on the bed. As soon as I hit the bed, I can move again. I wake my wife up crying.
I never looked at the clock again after that. I guess I was too scared to think about anything other then getting the hell out of that apartment. It was an event that will forever scar me. We actually left for a few days and stayed with my parents, but later came back. A few days later, my wife saw a black mist in the corner of our bedroom. After that, we left for good and never returned.
After all this time, I still don't know what happened that night. I have had encounters after this, such as apparitions and cold spots, but I haven't ever been attacked again. However, my wife continues to see weird things and she picks up on things that I can't. I never tried to look into the history there, but I know there is something dark in that apartment. It would be great to get other people's encounters and experiences. I have always wondered if others have had similar events.
