RELIGION How It HELPS or IMPAIRS Mental Stability Part 4

RELIGION How it HELPS or Impairs Mental Stability

Part 4

Worry, anger, rage, depression, insecurities, selfishness, unrealistic expectations, lack of discipline and anxiety can all be worked through! They do not have to become a part of your everyday life! It is important to deal with issues and situations at hand rather than just sweep them under the rug. You can build a healthier way of living. You start by taking responsibility and doing your part!

Spiritual, physical, emotional and mental healing really can take place. You can work through any issues to the degree you are willing. Don’t just let them become an unhealthy security blanket… Stop making excuses and make some changes! In other words do not allow yourself to become accustomed to daily dysfunction. God can heal you everywhere you hurt! “Let NOT your heart be troubled…” John 14. But you must be willing to take responsibility for your part. Instead of using all your energy worrying you must begin to turn to God and seek His principles for resolving the issues as you move forward. You do not always have to be worried, in a flux, or living in an unstable environment. Jesus wants you whole, but you must learn to trust Him and have FAITH in HIM!

FAITH is crucial, and a very important and essential element of being a Christian. Faith allows you to believe that things can change for the better. Faith is mentioned over three hundred times in the Bible. Faith in the Greek is called Pistis; it means to have a firm persuasion. Faith is based on the PROMISES of GOD! This is why it is important to know the Word of God! Our Faith is what unlocks the door to the Lord! Whatever you do, Please DO NOT ever let anyone or anything make you doubt the infallible WORD of GOD! Hebrews teaches us “Now Faith is being sure of what we Hope for, and certain of what we do not see.” Hebrews 11. The key words are sure and certain. God called the universe into existence through nothing! He said, said let there be light and it was so…” We can TRUST GOD and HIS WORD! HE is a "SOLID ROCK" foundation! God wants an up close and personal relationship with each one of us. The Word teaches us that; “Without FAITH it is impossible to please GOD!”

Jesus said, “I am the Way the TRUTH and the LIFE; no man comes to the Father but by Me.” John 14. Life without God is nothing more than a mere existence of aimlessly wandering. We can NEVER become a part of His Kingdom without first acknowledging Jesus Christ as Lord of our life. We must come into the realization that God is our Creator. If not you are fated for an unfulfilled life of discord, anxiety and probable mental instability. You become dependent upon an ever changing society to determine what is right or wrong. We need God in our life to have inner Peace. It is within Him you can discover true security & significance!

It is in our nature to desire to want to be accepted by society somewhat. But we must not seek the secular world for approval which society represents, above a relationship with the Lord. The grass is not always greener on the other side. Many believers sit on the fence and go in whatever direction the wind blows and the majority goes... The Word tells us to “Keep ourselves unspotted from the world!” This is also an indication of the “Pure Religion” mentioned in James 1. It is in James we find the Bible’s definition of religion. When we compromise our spiritual convictions to be accepted we step into the arena of sin. As we attempt to disguise ourselves with socially acceptable masks to avoid criticism and disapproval we create layers that appear to protect us externally but can possibly isolate us from GOD. This can create emotional and mental imbalance within you and separate you from whom you are truly meant to be.

Acknowledging whenever we are wrong is a good thing. Embrace repentance! Repentance is when we admit we have erred and are remorseful and want to change and make atonement. We want to draw closer to the Lord! We should welcome His chastisement and seek His direction to keep us on the Narrow Path. With God in our lives we are never alone. It is through suffering we can learn and grow spiritually as we go through it focusing on the Lord. All suffering does not come from God.... Suffering does or can help us to develop our patience and allows the Fruit of His Spirit to mature within us. It is good to know God’s arms are always open to us. Life will always present its challenges; but we never have to go through them alone! We can sincerely call upon the Lord 24/7. God has given us the GIFT of SALVATION, ETERNAL LIFE and the promise to never, “Leave nor forsake us!” ALL GOD’S PROMISES ARE TRUE!

It is our sin nature that creates the mental disharmony whenever we feel disconnected from our Creator. We need to reattach ourselves to what we know is right! As we embrace the principles of His Word we can develop healthier boundaries that help us feel safe! This is not a rigid legalistic existence but one of ongoing spiritual growth! However, we must be willing to relinquish the people, places, and things that hinder our spiritual development. Yes, we interact and exist within the world but we do not look to the world for direction. God has promised to “And my God WILL meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus!” Philippians 4. We can discover everything that we will ever need in the Lord! As we grow spiritually we learn to better TRUST GOD more! God has promised that if we “Seek first HIS Kingdom and HIS Righteousness, and ALL these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6.

Yes! We must learn to TRUST GOD! When we accurately grasp the idea that we in ourselves can do nothing apart from God, it helps us to reach out to Him in our helplessness. God sees us as HIS children! We ALL NEED HIM regardless as to how young or old we are… It is by His Grace that we all who are living have “the breath of life!” This is true whether you believe in Him or not! Without His breath of life we become lifeless vessels made of clay, mere dust. When Adam was created God’s Word teaches us: “the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” Genesis 1. God has created each of us for a purpose. It is our choice to discover what that purpose is.

God allows us the freedom to choose Him! He did not make us robots… He has given us a free will to decide. Adam and Eve decided to not listen to God! The Bible records what happened. We can choose differently. We can move towards God rather than away from Him. It is through Adam & Eve sin entered into the world. It is through Jesus Christ we can enter into a better way of living! Thank God for Jesus Christ because He paid the penalty for sin and made the passage way back to the Father. He is the Door to the Father!

Whatever you are going through in life the Lord can make a difference! Invite Him into the messiness of your life. The book of James teaches us to: Submit you therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your Joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the LORD and HE WILL lift you up.” James 4.

Know that there is a continual spiritual war going on all about us! Look around you and see all the things that are happening in this world. Weather conditions beyond our control, escalating terrorist attacks, numerous heinous crimes being committed throughout the land, muitiple murders being committed, the decline of the economy, and the moral fiber of society diminishing, as so called spiritual leaders compromise God's Word presenting watered down sermons excusing sin and embracing following after the flesh! Sin has nested itself within the LORD'S CHURCH! Just as it took over Judas Jesus disciple. Marriages and families are constantly being divided and there is an erosion of family values... God's principles for life and living are being set aside and are being seen as mere alternatives... God Created us and knows what is best for us!

It is hard for many to find a balance! Many have confused tolerance and acceptance with Love... No wonder we have so much chaos. Too many are being deceived as evil is being called GOOD and GOOD evil... LORD HELP US! Nations are stumbling and crumbling, many world leaders are just doing what they think is right in their own eyes, wars and wars and rumors of wars no doubt at some point it will end. Things cannot always continue as they are… We never know wnen we will draw our last breath... Yet still, In the LORD we can always have HOPE! The WORD of GOD is being fulfilled! We do not have to wait to the end to KNOW who will win. You can be sure of where you will spend eternity!

KNOW now that the battle has already been won! Listen... " they marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of GOD'S people, the city HE LOVES. But fire came down from Heaven and devoured them. And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever..." Revelations 20. The WORD of GOD is quite clear on who wins the Spiritual Battle! Jesus Christ overcame sin in the flesh, and rose victoriously from the grave with ALL POWER over death, sin and the grave so we could live better lives while still on this side of Heaven! PRAISE GOD! We are to draw nigh to the Lord daily! We were created to worship the LORD! We can REJOICE in the LORD! There is VICTORY in your PRAISE! Who, when how often and where you decide to worship is your choice! Just make sure when you believe in the LORD, the MOST HIGH GOD you must; Worship the LORD in SPIRIT and in TRUTH!”

We can grow closer to the Lord and become spiritually stronger as we implement His principles within our own personal lives daily! God can heal us from physical, mental and emotional sickness! He can lighten your load as you yoke yourself up to Him! You do not have to live in fear! Get to know God through His Word! There is POWER in HIS WORD! HIS WORD is ALIVE! It is important to spend time with the Lord each day! Follow Jesus Christ not man! Invite God into the messiness of your life! Once you truly accept JESUS CHRIST as LORD & SAVIOR HIS HOLY SPIRIT takes up residence within you. He is the internal Spiritual Teacher, The Comforter readily available to guide you to ALL TRUTH! Seek Him above all else to discover your purpose! Embrace the Fruit of HIS Spirit! Remember God intended that Christianity become a daily lifestyle! In GOD there is always HOPE in Him you can become whole!Praise be to the GOD and FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST! In HIS great MERCY HE has given us new birth into a living HOPE through the resurrection of JESUS CHRIST from the dead, and into an inheritance that can NEVER perish, spoil or fade – kept in Heaven for you, who through FAITH are shielded by GOD’S POWER until the coming of the SALVATION that is ready to be revealed in the last time…” I Peter 1.

Great Hub DeBorrah K. Ogans with great advice on how to live with the joy of knowing that all of God's promises are true!

When we "relinquish the people, places, and things that hinder our spiritual development", we must never forget that we are our brothers' keeper, and it is through this sacrifice and related suffering that we actually grow closer to God, for he will remember what we have done for his wayward children! Starting and ending every day with a sincere and personal communion with God will help ensure our survival in the non-stop spiritual warfare that surrounds us all, even if we cannot sense it from time to time. We must forever trust in God's good graces and inseparable love.

Thank you for this inspiring Hub.

Timothy Donnelly, You are so welcome! & Thank You! It is true we are our brother’s keeper! But it is also the WORD of GOD by which we can keep and help our brothers & sisters best. We must also implement His principles daily within our own lives. Since we are living in a time of constant changing morals & values it is important that we regularly spend time in the Lord’s Word to keep on the Narrow Path and to encourage them to do the same. We can relinquish or surrender them over to the Lord when all else has failed…

As you so well stated: “We must forever trust in God's good graces and inseparable love.” Amen!! & AMEN!! Thank You for stopping by to share your marvelous insight! Please do come again! Peace & Blessings!
