Anniversary Reflections - When a Young One Dies

Death is sure for that which is born, as birth is for that which is dead. Therefore grieve not for what is inevitable.

Bhagavad Gita

Thus shall you think of all this fleeting world: A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream, a flash of lightening in a summer cloud, a flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream.

The Diamond Sutra

Today is the anniversary of my 18th year old nephew who passed away four years ago. Hard to believe how time flies, as it seems like it was yesterday when our lives changed forever.

Wherever Omar is, we sometimes feel his presence, through after death communications, signs and visits in our dreams. Its comforting to know he exists, but as energy, and this is how my sister, Norma (his Mom) wants to learn to feel and "see," him.

A few days ago, when she prayed and asked that she be given support in changing her memory from remembering him in his casket to seeing him as pure energy, a bracelet that she and several of his friends have been wearing in his honor, broke within seconds of asking for this shift, and the beads fell on the floor- everytime she looked at this bracelet the images of his passing would flood her mind and heart. It seems, the Universe/God and Omar support her desire to have a higher connection with her son, to embrace the grandeur of their spirit and their eternal connection:

"It [the soul] is truly an image of the infinity of God, no words can do justice to its grandeur."

William Ellery Channing

I send my younger nephew much love, and to my sister who has a beautiful and courageous spirit, I ask that she always, always feel the embrace of the Divine and of her son.

The following messages which I wrote today is my gift to Omar and to his Mom. It is in flash form, but neither my s/o who is very technical or I could upload it as there were glitches with the flash program. Perhaps, it was meant to be I share my thoughts here again.

Sending another kiss in the wind to my beloved nephew. You were a gift to us while on earth, and you still are a precious gift; you will always remain in a special corner in my heart.

The Symbol of Infinity

Hi Marie: I'm surprised that this hub almost came at the same time as my latest one on 'connecting with the spirits'. Consider me with you in your pain and grief. I join you in sending love to Omar. I'm sure he watching you from God's kingdom. Don't grieve as that would make him sad. I know its easier said than done but I want you to smile when you think of him. (Hugs)

Anjali: I have little chills, I saw the topic of your hub while I was writing this hub earlier today, and thought the same thing, how they both were written at almost the same time. I will be reading your hub as I have kept it in my inbox. Yes, I will smile when thinking of Omar, actually I was smiling at some of his crazy pictures where he and his buddies made clown faces. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Many Hugs

I am so sure that Omar enjoys sensing the love from your hearth and beautiful, touching and inspiring energy comming from this Hub.

One of the reasons Omar left his body is to teach all of you who love him that life really exists beyond our corporal bodies. PURE LOVE of this article is proof for that .. and inspiration for everybody who reads it.My heart is fully open...Many hugs and love.

Tatjana: My eyes got wet when I read your comments. You had a near death experience so you know we do not really die. On my sister's recent birthday in June, she asked him to give her a sign or a little gift, and went to beach to relax; within an hour or so, a Birthday balloon floated over the ocean directly where she was sitting- needless to say she got up and picked up the balloon. The same thing, happened earlier on Valentine's, a Valentine's balloon floated towards her at the beach after she asked him for a sign.

I feel at peace, and a little sad at the same time, but above all I feel a deep love in general for my s/o who just walked in and gave me a quick little kiss and walked out, :), Omar, my family, friends, online friends, and life itself. Thank you for reading this with an open heart. Love to you.

VioletSun, I read this and started to comment, emotion swept over and I had to step aside and return. This is such a deep manifestation and sharing of that which is and will always be. He is such an integral part of all of your lives and from his place he now resides he is now a part of our lives as well, thank you for this gift!

BTW, where did you get these amazing pictures?

Emohealer: Oh, thank you so much for your comments, and your beautiful energy, what a beautiful community we have here, its appreciated.

I get the photos from BigStockPhoto.com... except for the second colorful one, I found on a search for free photos online. I have been a member of Bigstock for a while, and this is the first time I was offered two free photos of my choice, and picked these. Perfect gift and timing!

How beautiful Marie the way you have expressed lovely sentiments for Omar and your sister Norma.

My heart fluttered and peace came over me when I read about your sister's prayer and the story of the broken beads on the bracelet and the balloons at the beach that I read in your comments.

Omar was and is still very special to you, I can sence that very much. He will always be dear to your heart forever through eternity. Blessings to you and your family.

Dottie: I am reading a book by Dr. Joe Dispenza, "Evolve Your Brain-The Science of Changing Your Mind" ( he is from What The Bleep), and he observes when things happen twice we can call it a a coincidence, but when it happens the third, fourth or more times, we must rule out the possibility of a coincidence, and consider something larger is at work. He was talking about his study of spontaneous healings, but this applies to everything in general. The visitations from Omar are cool, happens a few times a year since he passed away.

Pam: To think this was supposed to be flash for sis, and everything that could go wrong did. LOL. Not even my website where I was planning to add the url to the flash so sis could see it, opened, so I ended up writing my thoughts and sharing in a public site. I think it was meant to be, at least this hub is in Facebook where sis keeps in touch with her son's friends. They are a very nice group of young people.

Thanks ladies for your words, its appreciated!

The book you are reading sounds very interesting, may have to check that one out.

After my friend Barbara passed 2 years ago from this life, her 2 daughters and I have had some interesting stories to share and my favorite is daughter Jen's story of the ankle bracelet with 3 hearts on it that caught hold of her toe in the water at her mom's favorite beach she was visiting in rememberence of her mom on mother's day. Jen was so excited she had to stop by to show me on her way home that day. The significance of the 3 hearts is mom and 2 daughters referred to themselves as the 3 muskateers.

Now if that's not a sign I don't know what is! I love these stories.

Dottie: The ankle bracelet sign moved me, wow, Barbara's spirit really knows how to ensure her daughters know its Mom visiting; its comforting for me and am sure many others too to read of these signs from loved ones. I love confirmations like these, thanks for coming back and sharing!

Sad but very beautiful. I haven't any proof, but I like to think that death it's not the end, but a new beginning. Thanks for sharing such personal thoughts.
