Resurrection of Society
Luke 6:36 From the King James Verson
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Let’s talk about “Resurrections”. We all know of the resurrection which took place in the Bible, where Jesus rose from the dead. Of course there were instances where He Himself performed resurrections.
Those of us who are followers of Christ should be able to perform these same deeds in our everyday lives and a lot of times we do so and don’t realize it.
The definition of the word resurrection is to “restore the dead to life “with synonyms such as revive, regenerate, revitalize, resuscitate, reinvigorate.
I am going to share some forms of resurrections that take place today.
Have you heard of someone’s career dying and the person has to start over or choose another career? Once that happens their career has been resurrected.
When a marriage is void of love I would consider it to be dead, but through efforts and through overwhelming odds it is restored. That marriage has been resurrected.
When a relationship between siblings or parents are estranged they can be resurrected.
Even when a friendship has ended it can be resurrected.
All this tells me is that there are levels of death that do not necessarily mean the end of life. These levels of death are matched by the levels of resurrections that can occur.
I see hope for our society that although it is deteriorating it can be resurrected. Our communities, our family structure can all be resurrected and it can only happen through reverence towards our Creator who, by the way, put this mechanism in place with the death of His Son and His Subsequent Resurrection.
