Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth - Part 2

The wares of the modern apostate church, or Biblical truth?
The wares of the modern apostate church, or Biblical truth?

This article is continuation of Part 1 of Rightly Dividing the Truth. Please read the first part, as it lays the foundation for Part 2 here.

Healing Ministries

Without rightly dividing the word of truth, heretics in the modern "church" system will continue to lead the masses into the bondage of Satan. They can be found everywhere in the Catholic, Charismatic, Pentecostal, Evangelical churches, etc… promoting their “ministries,” but they have never understood how to apply doctrine according to 2 Timothy 2:15. They teach that, “God wants you to be healed now,” and if you purchase one of their books, or attend one of their conferences, you will come to know their secrets to attain “divine healing.”

The big question is, is it the will of God to be healed, right now?

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. – 2 Corinthians 12:7-9

Paul was not healed, and he could not heal Timothy either. Furthermore, Timothy could not heal himself. Trophimus was not healed by anybody, nor could he heal himself.

Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities. – 1 Timothy 5:23

Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick. – 2 Timothy 5:20

The evidence is clear that these men of God were not healed right away as the false prophets teach, and want you to believe. These are lies from Satan to entice you to seek after and worship seducing spirits. It is critically important to understand that Satan came to “heal” and deceive. Just like in the days of Moses, Satan was able to counterfeit miracles.

Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. – Exodus 7:11

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. – 2 Corinthians 11:13-15

Universal Doctrine

How many of you have heard the saying that, “Jesus never changes.” This is the verse in Hebrews 13:8 that is close to the saying,

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever.

When this verse is incorrectly applied as doctrine, you can take just about anything from the whole Bible and apply it any way you want to. It should be obvious that this is simply false. The Old Testament and New Testament are not the same. For example, there are differences, such as circumcision is physical in the OT, but spiritual in the NT; likewise, grace is not by works, but by faith.

In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ – Colossians 2:11

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. – Roman 11:6

It is true that the character and faith of Jesus Christ never changes, but is incorrect to say that the way he does things never changes.

Often, when an apostate "church" leader is confronted about their counterfeit “healing” ministry, they will turn the confrontation around on you. They will tell you that you are being the divisive one, and being overly religious. Some will go a step further and say that you are not wanting people to get healed, but wanting them to stay sick.

True and genuine Way is about the inner man; it is more important than our fleshly bodies. A spiritual circumcision takes place when the Holy Spirit enters the body of a new believer causing the spirit and the flesh separate.

I am not saying that God cannot heal a person today by His grace, but it will not be through the idolatrous "healing" ministries that are parading around within the "church" sphere.

Strength in weakness.
Strength in weakness.

Infirmities

Through the epistles, Paul did not pray for physical health, but was more concerned about the “health” of the inner man of the believer.

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. – Ephesians 3:16

Saul, in the Old Testament started out in obedience to God, but then ended by rebelling and disobeying Him.

But my favor will not be taken from him as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from your sight. – 2 Samuel 7:15

These verses reveal the distinctions between those who can, and cannot lose their salvation, and those who are, and are not, physically healed. Many apostate ministries try to sell their “health and wealth” programs will say, “A healthy worker is better than a sick worker.”

Can you see that they have totally missed the mark? Paul had a physical infirmity that was not healed. Did that mean that he was useless in expanding God’s kingdom? No, he contributed to a large portion of Scripture. In fact, it is the opposite, a spiritually healthy follower of Jesus Christ who has a physical infirmity is by far better off than a spiritually sick charismatic who has been bewitched by the doctrine of demons.

Grace is Sufficient

In Part 1 of this article, a distinction was made between the kingdom of heaven (physical kingdom) and the kingdom of God (spiritual kingdom). These two kingdoms were manifest during the apostolic transitional period. This is when the nation of Israel killed their Messiah, and God would eventually close the door on them for a time, and the start of the age of the Ekklesia, which began when the veil was torn. New believers had not yet received the complete revelation of salvation (Bible) by grace through faith until the conversion of Paul in Acts 9. This was the transitional work that the Holy Spirit was doing by turning to the Gentiles because Israel had failed to receive their Messiah.

You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. - John 14:13

You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.” – Matthew 21:22

How many times have you heard these verses above come from the pulpit? Even the skeptic's will tell you that they have seen Christians pray so many times, over and over again, and no limb had grown back, or someone was not healed of cancer. They prayed, “In the name of Jesus,” and nothing happened.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. – John 14:12

Can you see the problem that we are running into here? Are the followers of Jesus Christ walking on water, feeding 5000, calming storms, etc..? Does this mean that God will no longer answer our payers, and we should stop praying to Him? Of course not, He dispenses grace according to how He sees fit, not through lying and deceiving doctrines of a “faith” healer’s ministry. God wants to bless and encourage His people, but if He does not answer, His grace is sufficient for you to soldier on for His names sake.

Counterfeit Christianity

The true follower of Jesus Christ who continues to "fight the fight," will receive hardships, troubles, and persecutions. It is part of carrying the cross and relying on him to give us strength to battle on. Following Christ is not about the carnival atmosphere, cotton candy, and circus tricks. It is not about the playground, but the battleground.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with praying for your fellow believers for healing, but if you are going to try to copy and imitate the first century Apostle’s sign signs that were meant for the Jews, you are putting yourself into a false doctrine, and your "prophet" will continue to have to lie to you so he/she can keep their false “ministry” afloat.

The charismatic "healing" ministries are creating people who are spiritually sick in mass delusion. Satan “heals,” and many are claiming that God is doing the healing. It is all hype.

They will use 1 John 4:4,

But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

By quoting this verse, the deceived and deceiver believe that they are immune to unclean spirits, false prophets, and antichrists. It is simply a cover up so they can continue in their heresies.

Shum-ba-la -pooka-sa-da-la-ba-sa
Shum-ba-la -pooka-sa-da-la-ba-sa

Signs for the Jews

If a true prophet of God was moving in the gift of tongues, he would not need an interpreter when preaching to others of a foreign language. Is this "prophet" raising the dead and walking on water too? Of course he isn't. Many people do not realize that the purpose of tongues was to show the unbelieving Jews that the apostles had the Holy Spirit within them. The Jews that were with Peter saw that the people could receive the Holy Spirit without the laying of hands, or water baptism when the speaking in tongues had manifested.

The Jews were saved by water baptism (Acts 2:38), and by the laying on of hands (Acts 8:17), but to Peter’s astonishment, the sign of tongues showed the Jews who came with Paul that the people could be saved without either.

While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. – Acts 10:44-45

I hope it sinks in that “tongues are for a sign.” The sign was to convince the Jews that they were truly saved. When they saw and heard each other speaking in tongues, it was a Jewish sign. There is no such thing as unknown tongues, which is a perversion that resembles occult and satanic practice. Do not be deceived that only those who are baptized in the Holy Spirit can speak in tongues. All believers are baptized when the Holy Spirit enters them at the moment of salvation; there is no need for tongues. Trying to imitate the Day of Pentecost with vain unknown babbling's is simply delusional.

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. – 1 Corinthians 12:13

The tongues that were spoken of in the Bible never resembled what is going on in the apostate modern Churches today with their chants that sound like Buddhist and Hindu worship.

This verse sums up their delusional behavior,

If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?– 1 Corinthians 14:23

Just to make sure that you are still following, the above verse was written while God was dealing with the Jews as a nation, which means it doesn't have any application for those among the ekklesia today.

There are many different ministries and movements within the counterfeit modern "church" system, and until the word of truth is rightly divided there will be no discernment. The results are rampant apostasy. The modern "church" has become a very deceptive and dangerous place. I would encourage everyone to weigh and test what is written here, compare and contrast it, and find repetition to render truth for yourself. Scripture says that many false prophets will rise and deceive many. Are you able to rightfully divide the truth to know for certain who the deceivers are? Don’t take my word for it. Peruse the evidence provided here, get out your Bible and read the whole chapter where the verses in this article are derived.

I hope it is your desire to be approved by God especially in these last days when the age of the ekklesia (grace) is coming to an end. This is my encouragement, or admonishment to you,

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. – 2 Timothy 2:15

God Bless.

A very interesting hub Planks, I apologize in advance as my reply got a big long-winded, and I also respect the fact that I am not your target audience here:

The bondage of Satan eh? I've often wondered exactly what the threat supposedly is from Satan. God's the one who'll be throwing people into the Lake of Fire, including Satan, so really the only threat Satan can pose is one of tempting a human being to sin or fall from grace. Satan's just culling the herd, God's the one running the slaughterhouse.

As for the hub itself it is worth noting that Christianity has long been a many splintered movement with each facet of the religion claiming to have the one true interpretation. It's also worth noting that Christianity itself is considered a deviation from the word of truth, namely the Jewish scriptures that Christianity builds off of.

Many of the Christian interpretations of these Jewish stories are FAR from the original meanings interpreted by the Jews themselves or by the authors of the stories when they wrote them.

So who has the right take on the "Word of Truth"?

"I would encourage everyone to weigh and test what is written here, compare and contrast it, and find repetition to render truth for yourself."

I would further this statement by urging everyone to question whether ANYONE should consider the Bible "the Word of Truth". If you're allowed to question other's interpretations of the Bible to find the truth for yourself than you must also be willing to doubt the Bible itself, otherwise you are being intellectually dishonest. After all the Bible was written by men, religious men, and there's just as good of a chance that they might have been deceptive or under Satan's influence. If you cannot trust the words of the modern religious leadership, what makes you think these ancient writings (many of them thrown out of the Bible along the way), are not ALSO lies and deceptions? If you're willing to take the entire Bible on faith and only apply skepticism and reason to people's interpretations of it that's extremely biased and intellectually sketchy wouldn't you say?

"It is true that the character of Jesus Christ never changes, but is incorrect to say that the way He does things never changes"

So he went from wanting you to physically mutilate your genitals to only FIGURATIVELY mutilating your genitals? In any context the act of genital mutilation is a peculiar and barbaric one born of the minds of human beings, like foot-binding, neck-lengthening, and other cultural practices. But you're right about the main point, God might not have changed, but he seems to have changed his MIND about a few things.

"God wants to bless and encourage His people, but if He does not answer, His grace is sufficient for you to soldier on for His names sake."

You can't really blame folks for wanting to believe the more fantastic elements of the story. The first Gospel Mark, is scant on miracles, with the earliest manuscripts ending in a cliff hangar without confirming the Resurrection.

As the gospels progress the story becomes more and more remarkable. People want to believe Heaven is literally a city of precious jewels with gilded streets. It's the UNREALITY of these stories that makes them so tempting to believe in, in my opinion, they are truly a powerful form of escapism.

Christians pray for all sorts of things and I can understand why it's so frustrating when a God who can destroy armies and heal blind men decides to let "his people" wither and die, starve to death, bury their own children, etc. This "soldiering on" you mention sounds about as strong as a placebo effect, which, in my experience as a Christian, is all prayer ever was.

The strength to go on, the inner fire that let you make it through the day with a measure of hope left over for tomorrow. That sort of thing is what believers all over the world get from their very different beliefs, in fact it's not something you even need faith in a god for. People get just as much strength from other people, from music, art, entertainment, humor, etc. Isn't that what the Gnostic Christian sect was always trying to say, in some sense, the fire is WITHIN not WITHOUT.

The phrase I always think of was one I read in the story Where the Red Fern Grows when I was a child, "God helps those who help themselves". Of course, because he isn't there, but even in a world filled with suffering and tragedy people who work to accomplish something will give credit whatever object or character they've attached that inner fire to.

"The fact is that the apostolic age is over, and the church age is out of the context of the book of John"

There's as much a reason to believe the legendary deeds of Hercules as there is to cling to the miracles of Jesus. We're out of the apostolic age, out of the Dark Ages, we've made it passed the Spanish Inquisition and into the light of scientific enlightenment - along the way our myths of magic have turned out to be exorbitantly exaggerated or flat out fabricated.

So really, what reason is there to think that the Bible is the Word of Truth AT ALL?

Wow! between the article and the comment I just read makes me wonder if people are really having encounters with the Holy Ghost with Christ and God the Father. Do you really know Him? Ever had an outter body experience and went to heaven or visions of heavenly things, like streets of God, or crystal clear gold houses and walls of pearls? Have you heard the audible voice of God as well as the voice from within your spirit man? Have you ever prayed and God answered your prayer or thought of something you needed and it showed up right after you thought it? Or ever seen demons or been attached by one while sleeping or awake? The supernatural world is real.

As for the church today, some are deceived about many things but God promise to lead and guide us into all truth. The bible is to lead us to God and to learn some of his acts and some of his ways. Every scripture in the bible once read there is a revelation, understanding that comes directly from God to that Believer who seeks to know him. And it's not to so call expose the devil when it's only ignorance to the true meaning behind the words we read which was written thousands of years ago and have life and answers and knowledge of God and from God to lead and guide me into his purpose for individual lives today! What an Awesome God we serve. A loving Father! So you're right the devil can't separate us from the love of God ever because of the finish work of Christ. He only can try to keep us ignorant to the truth that God wants to reveal to us through his word even with the mis translations. Even those are being corrected all the time for those of us that need the intellect approach in order to believe the bible. It's the Bible the truth? Everything I've read, I found truth which have made me free from a life of hell on earth.

Jisblessed,

The questions you asked in the first part of your comment are answered in Scripture by rightly dividing the word of truth by weighing and testing your church doctrine in Biblical context. If it fits, it is approved by God; if it doesn't, it is exposed for the deception it is.

("Have you heard the audible voice of God...")

No I haven't, but the Bible reveals what that physical manifestation looks like in His seven thunders in Scripture. Was there hail, fire, lightning, smoke, and earthquakes when you, or your "pastor" heard the audible voice of God?

("Ever had an outter body experience and went to heaven or visions of heavenly things, like streets of God, or crystal clear gold houses and walls of pearls?")

No, I haven't, but the Bible reveals the fulfilled purpose of those that did.

("As for the church today, some are deceived about many things but God promise to lead and guide us into all truth.")

Can you show me the promise in Scripture where God promises the deceived that He will lead them and guide them in all truth?

(...God wants to reveal to us through his word even with the mis translations.")

Can you give me an example what you mean by this statement? If you know that that something is counterfeit, you can't claim ignorance; it is willful delusion.

I get the feeling you disagree with this article. I'm willing to walk out anything that you may disagree with. Please tell me why you believe there is error and provide Scriptural evidence in context to the contrary.

Thank-you for your comment.

Titen Skull,

I'm glad you found the article interesting.

("We're out of the apostolic age, out of the Dark Ages, we've made it passed the Spanish Inquisition and into the light of scientific enlightenment - along the way our myths of magic have turned out to be exorbitantly exaggerated or flat out fabricated.")

I do not want to debate all your questions here, as the purpose of this article was not meant for the atheist audience. I haven't been to the athiest part of Hubpages lately, as I have been more in the Christianity area. With that said, I do read your articles from time to time, and don't mind attempting to answer atheist skepticism.

The purpose of this article was to provide evidence as to why there are so many doctrinal errors within the church. What I know from your writing is that you grew up in a religious environment. Since you have stepped away from the church, can you see where Scripture was applied out of context in their behaviors, or what was has been your experience?

Hi Plank

I was speaking to everyone, anyone who reads this. And yes, I have heard the audible voice of God early in my conversion and filled with His spirit. No, there was no hail, fire, smoke or lighting or earthquake.. It was as normal as someone talking with me but couldn't see them. It was strong but comforting.

The outter body experience is real also and mind blowing, a type of fear but yet not fearing. and yes, I believe it happens to individuals today in purpose being revealed to that individual.

Jesus said that when the Holy Ghost comes, He shall lead and guide you into all Truths. So that means for all things, even scriptures mis interpreted. They are being recognized and translate more correctly.

Personally, I think of the scriptures that the Bible did interpreted correctly and I didn't get it. The truth behind what I read. And God is just now giving me the Truth about it. Over 10 years. And yet, he manages to lead and guide into the truth. I didn't fail Him, maybe fail from Grace in some ways but Thank God for Jesus, "where sin abounds, Grace much more abounds!" So we cannot be lose or be separated from His LOVE.

Can you give me an example what you mean by this statement? If you know that that something is counterfeit, you can't claim ignorance; it is willful delusion.

I didn't say if something is counterfeit, and a person knows it is; of course He will lead me to truth. It would be double minded. If I can't claim ignorance, then it would be a willful delusion. Who would want to be delusional about Truth which is Jesus.

I'm saying no matter what trick or deception the devil do with the word of God or in the church. God will lead His People in to all Truth. They cannot be deceived. If it was possible Satan would fool the very elect. That let's me know that it's not possible. If one choose to be willfully delusional; their choice but doesn't have to be. Like Adam; he had a choice. Second Adam move every obstacle. We have to follow Him through the Holy Spirit, Grace and Truth.

I'm saying for Truths God reveal to us as individuals apart of a church body that it then falls on the individual to share the truth. And

I'm saying the Holy Spirit is a gentleman and all wisdom. He knows how to get over to the church without strengthening the devils hand in dis encouraging or confusing believers and non believer about the church or bible with some truth but negative way. That's what I feel this hub may do as for me not agreeing with the hub.

Jisblessed,

Thank-you for sharing your experiences.

People love truth when it enlightens, but hate it when it convicts. Truth does not change according to our own feelings. Whether you find it positive, or negative does not change what it is. That is why when truth is presented people react to it in different ways.

The fact is that modern church has become apostate and abandoned the truth for mystical experiences. "Gentle Jesus meek and mild" is not going to wake up the masses out of their delusion. We are called to speak truth in a time when most do not want to hear it. The modern charismatic church has become a carnival of witchcraft that worships an angel of light.

Non believers are confused about the church because it runs on the same system that is in the world. The Holy Spirit has left the institutionalized modern church that is run on the traditions of man. The genuine church are people, not a building. This is reality. My goal is to help others through any confusion by nipping it in the bud, and calling it for what it is. Is it going to offend some? Of course it is.

God Bless.

Plank,

Thank you for your response. I've concluded that as in the old testament God used prophets in different times of peace and war, judgements and blessings and they even have different names in reference to them, like Isaiah called the eagle eye prophet, and Jeremiah called the dooms day or weeping prophet. And new testament let's us know that every man or woman have there gift and calling in the body with different functions.

Therefore, I cannot say your gift and calling isn't on point. Some may need to hear it just as you teach it. And other may need to hear it just as I teach it but we're both teachers. Both having our gifts from God to be used as He wills for us.

But last questions. After the ripping it in the bud then what? I didn't get a clear point of reference in correcting what is wrong and what do I look for, seek after, where do I go for Truth and the teachers of Truth? How do we rebuild what's been ripped apart? Then again, a scripture, a parable of Jesus do say, "let the wheat and tare grow together and I'll do the separating when I come." (Thinking as a newbie or non believer may think).

More Blessings, Amen!

Plank,

So engulfed with the hub that I didn't speak my overall comment about the hub.

I found it enlightening in a lot of ways, challenging in others but it was well written, very easy to read on the eyes, and appealing and motivating to continue to read with the format and picture. I liked it very much.

Thank you for sharing. :-)

Jisblessed,

I believe that once people start dividing the Word of Truth for themselves that they will realise where the deception is manifesting within the church. I believe we are in a crucial time where God is calling His people to come out of "Babylon" and go to "Zion." While those who are blind will not see any need to come out of her, or from what they should be coming out of. Instead of repenting, the modern church is boasting of what God is doing when it is Satan's doing. Back in Jesus' time and the apostles the works and miracles of the Holy Spirit were attributed to Satan. In this age, it is the opposite, Satan's counterfeits are attributed to the Holy Spirit. Can you see the blasphemy?

Even the atheist skeptic can see all the hundreds of different heretical, cultic sect religions called "Christianity." Everywhere you go there is a different gospel, and a different Jesus preached. There is so much confusion that no one knows who the real Jesus Christ is anymore. Are we really to coin every institution, organization, meeting, or whatever man seems best as the church? What seems best to man is a product and service that suits their own carnal needs and desires. The people of God have become corrupted, and if they don't get the message of Truth, it will be too late.

The true church (ekklesia) are presently residing within the counterfeit. Those that do not hear and receive the truth of this will not come to that realization. The true church needs to awaken and separate to Zion. This will not be easy because the true followers of Jesus Christ will be seen as the enemy. Again, the things of Satan will be considered the work of the Holy Spirit. The deceived apostate church has the same carnal mind as the world, and will unite and be hostile toward true believers. The true church will be deemed evil, and the counterfeit good. The maturing of this counterfeit revival will pave the way for the False Prophet.

The modern church has become a place where they call evil good, and good evil. It is unrighteousness that creates blindness. The Word of Truth has not been rightly divided, and many are eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil instead of grafting themselves into the Tree of Life.

We need to wake people up because they are giving great power to the image of the antichrist without knowing what they are doing. I believe people need to find truth, and the only way to finding it is by doing it for themselves.

My goal in writing this article was to show some principles of how to discern what doctrines do, and do not apply to believers in the church age today. If believers cannot figure that out for themselves then they will not know the difference between the real and the counterfeit.

"Since you have stepped away from the church, can you see where Scripture was applied out of context in their behaviors, or what was has been your experience?"

Yes. Evangelical Christianity likes to play fast and loose with the Bible, especially when it comes to their interpretations of the old testament. It's hard to make a coherent whole narrative out of the piece-mail fables, stories and books of the Bible but Christianity does what it can with the material.
