Jeremiah 16:16, “Behold I am going to send for many fishermen says the Lord and they will fish for them; and afterwards I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and from the cleft of the rocks”.
In the above text of Jeremiah, the Lord God is revealing how he will gather again His people back to Himself. In verse 14, He says, that they will say no more, see how the Lord as brought us out of Egypt, out of captivity, slavery and sin. That is to say that they have had a mindset change from their past. They will now be identifying the process as to where they are now entering into. Paul said forgetting what is behind I press on for the High Call in Christ Jesus. These have been taken captive in Babylon, the North Country. This is a picture of the Church that is operating in a Babylonian spirit but is unaware of this spirit, within her boarders.
Now the above is a picture of the restoration of a nation, understand that the intention of the Father was to always have one Holy Nation that will rule and become the standard of measure for the other nations of the earth. Please note that the context of rule here is not to dominate and conquer another nation. So the entire Old Testament is fundamentally pointing and illustrating that natural Israel will be used for this purpose so that you and I can understand the mind of the Lord for the spiritual Israel, which is the Church, it is used as an example for us. So where is the Father taking them? Before we go there, lets just have a look and who is responsible for the destroying and scattering of these people.
Jeremiah 23: 1-8, “Woe to the shepherds that are destroying and scattering the sheep of My pastures!” Notice how God is changing the analogy from a nation to sheep and shepherds, clearly evidencing that He is talking to the present day Church system and culture.
Vs 2, therefore says the Lord God of Israel, concerning the shepherds who are tending my people. You have scattered my flock and driven them away and have not attended to them, Behold, I am about to attend to you for the evil deeds, declares the Lord.
Vs.3 Then I Myself, shall gather the remnant of My flock out of all of the countries, where I have driven them and shall bring them back to their pastures, and they will be fruitful and multiply.
Vs.4 I shall also raise up shepherds over them and they will tend them and they will not be afraid any longer nor be terrified, nor will any be missing declares the Lord.
Vs.7 Therefore the days are coming declares the Lord, when they will no longer say, as the Lord lives that brought up the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt.
Vs.8 but, As the Lord lives who brought up and led them back the descendants of the household of Israel from the north land and from all the countries where I have driven them. They will live on their own soil.
The verse above shows that the Father is removing them from a Babylonian system to a Kingdom Household system. Now, how does He intend to accomplish this? We already now that the fishermen have gone out. When Jesus was calling the fishermen to be his Disciples he was deliberately doing that to fulfill Jeremiah 16.16, so the first part of that has been accomplished. Now fishermen in those days used nets to catch fish, but the Father is now separating His catch, let’s look at Matthew 13:47, the Parable of the Dragnet. This parable follows the explanation of the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares, in vs 36, which says, Then He left the multitude and went inside the house, and His disciples came to him saying explain to us this parable. Both these parables have similar applications.
Matt 13:47-52, Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a Dragnet, cast into the sea and gathering fish of every kind and when it was filled they drew it up on the beach, they sat down and gathered the good fish into “containers” ,( is the Hebrew word (Keli), which means Grace), but the bad they threw away. So it will at the end of the age, the angels shall come forth, and take out the wicked from among the righteous, and will cast them, into the furnace of fire, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Have you understood all these things? They said to him, yes. And He said to them, therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the Kingdom of Heaven, is like a head of a household, who brings forth, out of his treasure, things new and old.
We have already established that, Heads of Households are Spiritual Fathers who are carriers of Grace for this season of the Kingdom as he builds His Household. It is clear from this exposition of the word that God the Father is bringing His son back into His Household. I have already declared that the Holy Spirits agenda has changed from the Reformation of the Church culture to the establishment of the Household of God in a Kingdom culture. I have also clearly given biblical evidence that the Insitutional Church is not the Kingdom, so I am not going to labor those points again. The first half of Jeremiah 16:16 has already taken place, we are now in the second part of that prophecy, the Time of the Hunters.
This season works with a higher more efficient level of accuracy in that a hunter by nature is going after one prey at a time, he is not after the masses but has been assigned to identify and lock his sights on those individuals whom the Holy Spirit has assigned to him. He is single minded in his pursuit, he is after sons of the Kingdom. In this season of building the House of God, spiritual fathers are not concerned with having a huge number of people in their families but only want to train, disciple and raise sons that have been sent to them by the Holy Spirit. We have many being discipled by Church culture but its time for a change, Matt 13, …And He said to them, therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the Kingdom of Heaven is like a head of a household, who brings forth, out of his treasure, things new and old. It is evident that Church cultured disciples will struggle to make the shift from Pastors to Heads of Households. Kingdom cultured disciples will only build in this way and become Heads of Households and spiritual fathers.
Their primary objective is maturity and the unity of the faith. Hunting takes more time and effort and requires more stealth and care, these are the shepherds that the Father is raising in this hour in the Kingdom, because their intension is not for money and selfish gain but to bring them back into the Household of God, that is to give them their inheritance as sons and send them into the designation as Kingdom Ambassadors and Viceroy’s of the King. Now this position of a Hunter and spiritual father takes on a dual function when the hunter becomes the hunted let me illustrate by showing you a scripture.
Mark 1:14-45 is a remarkable account of Jesus Christ starting out his ministry, it says that, “After John was taken into custody; then Jesus came into Galilee and started preaching the Kingdom of God. The seasons have changed, all the prophets until John, have prophesied. The text goes on to depicts the incidences of the calling of the disciples and highlights the authority with which Jesus Christ healed and cast out demons to demonstrate that the Kingdom had indeed arrived. In vs. 30 He heals Simon’s mother-in-law’s fever, and was doing this into late hours of the night. It records that the whole city had gathered at the door. Vs. 35 Jesus arose early and went to a quite place to pray. Vs. 36 Simon and his companions hunted for him.
When the hunters are engaged in Kingdom agenda of the Father, then he becomes sought after, he becomes the hunted, you will never have to manipulate anyone to join you, by offering them positions of status and appointing them to leadership positions, for the fear of them leaving you, because you don’t do anything in your own strength, you only do what you see and hear the Father doing, you are an exact representation of the Father. It goes on to record the healing of the disobedient Leper and how Jesus had to stay in unpopulated areas because the people would not leave him alone. Mark 1 ends with this statement, “and they were coming to Him from everywhere”. He that has an ear let him hear what the Spirit is saying. The concept of the church “set man” is limited in its context because the context of that scripture reference about Moses being "set over" is over a Nation, not a Church Congregation. Moses account of a set man, is shadow and type of a righteous man (Nation) over an unrighteous Nation of Israel, the context is a Nation. This should evidence sufficiently enough that the Nation of Israel was arranged in the following way. It begins with a Father and his sons in a Household, when those sons come to maturity they raise their own Households, many families under that spiritual father forms into a Clan, and many Clans form into a Tribe. That will therefore make the original spiritual father a Tribal Patriach. Now there should be many Tribes that constitute a Nation headed by different Tribal Patriarchs which should eventually form a Nation of many Tribes and tongues from every corner of the earth.
The Father is going to set, the one new man Christ, the Body and the Head, the fullness of the stature of Christ, The Son comprising of many sons, as the Royal House of Kings and Priests that will rule and become the measure for the heathen nations of the earth. The Government of God was to function within the context of a Kingdom Nation not a Church congregation. So when this Kingdom Nation, which is the household of God the Father, arises it will reflect the “Good nature of the King” to all other nations and rule with authority and power.
When this Son, asks of the Father, He will give it. Psalms 2:8, Ask of Me and I will surely give the nations as an inheritance for you, and the very ends of the earth as your possession. We then will disciple nations. The Kingdom of God will disciple other nations. Arise shine for your light has come, the glory of the Lord has risen upon you, and nations will see the rising of your glory and come to your light, because we will show the Goodness of the nature and the character of the King. The nature and the character of the King, is the culture of the Kingdom, which is the culture of Heaven. Jesus taught us to pray, that the culture of the heavenly King must come on earth. No single parish model churches will ever disciple a nation.
Micah 4, And it will come about in the last days, that mountain of the house of the Lord, will be established as the chief of the mountains, it will be raised above the hills, and the people will stream to it, and many nations will come and say, Come let us go up onto the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob, that He may teach us about His ways, and that we may walk in his paths, for from Zion will go forth the law, even the word of the Lord from Jerusalem, and he will judge between many peoples, and render decisions for mighty distant nations. They will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not life up sword against nation and never again will they train for war.
Now if we have been hearing and following the Holy Spirit you will by now have recognized that, He is done with the restoration and the reformation of Church culture and is building the Household of God, the Father in the Kingdom.
