Several Questions That The Religious Wont Answer

Recently I posted a thread in the forum asking "Has anyone else lost their faith or beliefs here on HP?"

I ask because I cant believe that so called members of the church such as pastors, and other clergy as well as so called christians think that by attacking people such as the LGBT, Atheists and any one else that will not conform to a book is honestly doing a good thing.

Recently I asked several questions to a misguided pastor who believed he spoke for god, and wondered if any one would answer this as he declined to answer, I was a christian but having seen some of the bigoted, hate filled hypocritical threads on here by certain people, I dont believe any more.

The questions if any one would like to answer are as follows

1 - What God, if he exists would dicriminate against who is allowed to believe and who is not?

2 - One of the commandments states that thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife, nor his ox, nor his manservant. I thought christians were against slavery but seemingly a man servant is permitted.

3 - What God would hate his own creation?

4 - What gives you the right to judge another?

5 - When you decide that some one should not be LGBT and you try to throw religious passages at them, Are you aware that your actually causing more damage than you think? And if some one listens to you throwing these passages and then lives a lie by denying their true selves and then becomes gender confused and does something drastic like suicide Are you on judgement day going to take responsibility for that?

6 - And one more question one I meant to ask a while ago, when you start preaching about how wrong being LGBT is, do you sit an exam in bogotry and hatred to learn the different ways to upset people? or does it come naturally?

No one has been brave enough to answer me, so either they have been trying to find the Answers in the so called Book? Or are frightened to answer me incase I might be right that God does not exist!

I honestly do not believe in a god any more after seeing some of the extremist and disgusting bigoted comments on some of the threads that people have posted in the name of their lord.

Its now become a them and us situation between the religious and non religious on the forums.

I also have found that Religion is quite elitist and dictates everything to you, but changes the rules whenever they wish for certain people such as sins being in a class system as some of the deluded religious would have you believe that Homosexuality is a far worse sin than murder. And that all a religious person has to do is say that they repent and all sins, crimes are forgiven but homosexuals arent allowed.

Its like being a child at school and the bully invites everyone else and then gives the stupidest reason why your not allowed to play too, for example " My mommy said so." Then when you beat a religious person in a conversation or get the better of them they do not like it and begin to search the book for an answer, but they cant give an honest answer no...it has to be a biblical passage...

Here is something for you to mull over, some decent christians that are not extremists actually will not post in the forums because they too are sickened by some of the threads, I read most of the past religious threads, and some of the dreadful insulting comments posted by the religious in the gender and relationships forums too. What strikes me as odd if they are so anti gay? Why do they have stalk LGBT in the gender and relationships forum? Are they questioning their sexuality?

Thanks for reading if anyone has the answers to my 6 questions would you please post them in the forum.. Many thanks....

Well said, Cal. I read a couple of threads in the "Religion" forums here, but had to stop as many of them made me feel sick to my stomach.

I am transgender, I am a Hubber, I am a PERSON. If people have a problem with that, then they are the ones with the problem.

That is the best way to be TWD and we dont need their approval or permission to be who we are either. The threads have made me sick to my stomach over the years with what has been written by deluded people thinking that they are gods messenger when infact they are preaching racial hatred. Over this time its slowly made me see that I dont wish to be associated with a religion that allegedly will discriminate against me at the end..

Thanks for commenting TWD :)

Hiya Calpol,

Finally, someone with eyes that can see.

I wrote and published a 711 page book on the subject. UP ONE LEVEL is the name.

Look me up at craig-suits@hubpages.com

Your insight into religious insanity is MUCH more dangerous than you may think.

The existance of Humanity is at stake. People like yourself are humanities ONLY hope.

Read my hubs on organized religion and comment. Then we need to talk. Perhaps we can do something about humanities impending doom.

Someone has to try. Thats why I wrote the book.

well, you are enlightened! I have always known that basically enlightenment is not about religion - it is more about observation and faith in ourselves. You can't worry about what ignorant, superstitious people say and do - they either will or will not get over it. I know you know this. But to answer your question, I don't think HP has anything to do with my philosophical thoughts of any kind. The basic level of intelligence in the religious forums is to laugh about. When you really look you find the same 4 or 5 people loudly spouting their rote religion and it is crazy to worry about their homophobias and insensitivities. I would like to point you instead towards the multitude of enlightened websites that speak truth and humanity - but first I'll have to go find them! I know some of those people are here too, they just aren't as vocal! Namaste

Thanks Mega1 I suppose I got annoyed more than anything at the comments of the same 4 to 5 people each time... lol but I know what you mean :)

Hi Calpol, I am a straight / hetero Christian, practicing btw, and I believe with all my heart that God loves LGBT people exactly the same way that he loves heteros! I am a bit in hurry now, but let me tell you that not all Christians are full of hatred and want to 'cure' LGBT people. There is nothing to cure in our opinion because homosexuality is actually nothing else than a normal variation of human sexuality. Don't let the fundamentalists distract you from God. You might want to look up a film called 'For the Bible tells Me So' or the soulforce.org website for a different take on the subject. really have to run now, not avoiding your questions, will get back to them later, promised, SY

Hi calpol25, this is an excellent hub and your arguments are well directed.

I think at the end of the day, there will always be, within any belief system, those who are zealots. Instead of their hearts being filled with true Christian beliefs, they are filled with hate due to the fact that they interpret their holy book in their own way. The fact is, that if Jesus or whoever he really was, was here today, I think he would accept all those who are currently rejected by the fanatics. My personal belief is that all those 'abused' by some Christians are actually closer to their god than any hate-filled, zealot Christian ever will be. But fanatics can't and will not see that - because they are blinded by the lower emotions.

My own belief system is that there is a higher intelligence and that we do survive death. However, I don't believe at all that one religion holds the absolute truth and for me following organised religion is very limiting. So, as usual, loner and odd ball that I am, I do my own thing! My own thing is that I accept people for what and who they are. I celebrate the differences in us all, not what is the same about us. I also genuinely feel that I am in no position to pronunce judgement on anyone - basically because I'm far from perfect myself.

I enjoyed your arguments here, but I'm sorry as well that you had to write the hub in the first place due to the hate and intolerance in others. Voted up + awesome!

Hi hospitalera I will be sure to look those films up and thanks for posting please know that I was not attacking all christians, as even I know not everyone is bad and if it came across that way I apologize but I just cant sit back and say nothing when these dreadful posts on the forums as they are just downright low attacks, im not saying that LGBT, Athiests etc are all innocent either but when its a thread thats literally without due cause its hurtful..

Thanks or posting and look forward to hearing from you :)

I'm thinking intolerance against LGBT people is more cultural than religious. I grew up in the Philippines, which is more fundamentally Christian than anyone in the U.S. (During Holy Week, some people there actually crucify themselves as an act of devotion.) And yet I'd never heard of anyone there using the Bible to preach against gay people. It wasn't until I arrived here that I'd actually heard of anyone using the Good Book as an excuse for hate, which was quite a shock. Voting this Up and Interesting.

Calpol25 I have been hesitant to get into the topic on religion here on hubpages. I am a Christian and have met people who believe like you mentioned. I am very familiar with the scriptures and it amazes me to find the Living Word abused as it is. I rely on the two commandments Christ taught to His disciples. "Love God with all your heart and do unto others as you would have them do unto you" Makes me wonder how these people you described make it through the day without the Holy Spirit zapping their heart and mind. But the other side of that is I also believe the scripture "Judge not lest you be judged is also true" so rather than get upset with these people I lift them and their ideas to the Lord asking Him to give them His Truth. I don't know if this answers your questions very well but hope it helped you to walk the path you have been given with the love you have expressed in this hub.

Helped you very much? Hows that? I have no malice what so ever for 354 but you just got a pitty based lecture from one of these "believers" that quote ancient fairy tales like they were carved in stone.

He/she starts out with "The living word abused as it is". No one is abusing anything. Questioning yes, abusing no.The rest of the paragraph is nothing but unproovable, ancient, religious phycobabble with absolutly no basis in reality. A classic example of adolecent, religious, mind control.

I'll give him one A+++:

As discussed in my book, "Up One Level", the phrase: "Do onto others as you would have them do onto you", should be humanities new covenant after we disband all the power and money sucking religious organizations.

I leave you with this one question:

Do we not have the right to get upset (to say the very least) with a belief system that has been the direct and inexcuasable cause of billions of our CHILDREN being blown to bits on our religious battle fields?

Ok two questions:

Do we not have the right to complain when trillions of dollars and untold resources are pissed away every year on bibles, chruches, mosks, sinagogs and thousands of other religious properties and artifacts when our very own children die from desiese and starvation by the thousand each and every day?

And one more thing:

"Judge not, lest you be judged"? What the hell is that? Are we supposed to turn away when we see a 6 year old little girl being raped? Judge not my butt.

See where all this glazed eye religious retoric has reduced the human race too?

All you have to do is "praise the lord" and Jesus wil save us all. Uh huh! Good luck. Where the hells he been for the last and unprecidented (I might ad), 2000 freaking years?

Hiding most likely. I don't blame him one bit.

By the way Calpol, I just found this out myself. "Up One Level" is available as an ebook for 3 bucks on Googles Ebook Store. Just search Googles "all books section" for "Up One Level, Craig Suits".

Beats 23 bucks for the book.

There's even a chapter on homosexuality in it. You won't like that one.

Later Bro...

Religion is a set of rules, regulations and rituals created by humans, which was suppose to help people grow spiritually. Due to human imperfection religion has become corrupt, political, divisive and a tool for power struggle.More Detail : http://www.mastervoodoospells.com/

In response to-"And one more question one I meant to ask a while ago, when you start preaching about how wrong being LGBT is, do you sit an exam in bogotry and hatred to learn the different ways to upset people? or does it come naturally?" I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT!

I support LGBT and steadily fight for their freedom to marry, for partner benefits and to be with who they choose. Who are we to judge? If God made us all, then he accepts everyone, right? If he created us in his image then he cannot hate LGBT, can he? No. People hide behind their 'Good Book' and openly promote hate.

I just received a letter from my state senator stating that I am WRONG and that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. He went on to quote laws and subsections. Blah Blah Blah. Bigotry comes in all forms.

After my divorce, I moved in with a woman for 2 years. I ALMOST lost my kids because of being Bi-sexual/Lesbian. The courts ordered me to either break up or lose my kids. I had to break off a loving relationship because of bigotry and to keep my kids. It's sad how people force your hand to give up things, and people, you love because they can't understand, or are ignorant of the facts. My church that I had attended for 6 years kicked me out when they found out I was living with a woman. I haven't been to church since. Ignorance breeds hate.

Thanks for thought provoking hub.
