When It Reigns It Pours! - Sista' Devotions 365: When Life Seems Too Hectic To Stay Connected- Day 10

When it rains it pours...

When It Reigns It Pours!

When it rains it pours! Such a cynical expression but a silver lining is there if you change your mindset to a new concept to allow yourself to see it. Without rain, what tends to happens? Living things tend to dry up, stop their growth process and die.

1 Kings 17:7 Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land.

The rain makes us appreciate the Son-shine!
The rain makes us appreciate the Son-shine!

continued:

The rain (i.e. hard times) that comes into our lives is meant for growth. It's initial “soaking” may seem overwhelming at first, but as time goes by we realize each rain's cleansing and nourishing properties. That nourishment makes us stronger and gives us a more firm foundation to withstand the rains yet to come. When we mature to be able to respect and be thankful for the rain in our lives, we then begin to yield the wonderful fruit we are meant to yield as God's people as a result.

When if “rains” it pours! Oh well... That must mean that you are in for a glorious harvest. Your trees overbearing with sweet, ripe fruit and your fields overflowing with glorious flowers! Say the phrase this time with JOY and a new concept! When it REIGNS it pours – Hallelujah! What miraculous results will manifest when you accept and are thankful for the “rain”.

Beautiful flowers...a result of the REIGN!
Beautiful flowers...a result of the REIGN!

scripture:

Leviticus 26:4 I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees of the field their fruit.

2 Samuel 23:4 he is like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings the grass from the earth.

Isaiah 30:23 He will also send you rain for the seed you sow in the ground, and the food that comes from the land will be rich and plentiful. In that day your cattle will graze in broad meadows.

Matthew 7:25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

Prayer:

Lord thank you for your reign in my life and for the "rain" that comes sometimes. It truly makes me appreciate your Son-shine and the sunshine that always follows that rain bringing with it fields of fresh flowers, bountiful harvests and hope for brighter days ahead. In Jesus name... Amen.

I love it! And of course it's easy to say and a whole lot harder to joyfully ask God to send the rain. Beautifully written and inspiring! God bless!
