Let It Go-Sista' Devotions 365: When Life Seems Too Hectic To Stay Connected - Day 4

Let It Go...

Let It Go...

Some of us have events, situations and circumstances that we have found ourselves in that have caused us a lot of grief, embarrassment and much regret. Some of these were caused by our own hand. Some were imposed upon us by others. In either case, they often are life experiences that we have never shared with anyone or very few people at best. The memories of these experiences either haunt us with such excruciating pain that they keep wounds open and festering or they are buried too deep to recall but they affect us none-the-less. What we usually do not realize or care to confess about them is that they are affecting and have affected our past, present and potentially future state of being. Think about it. Past hurts oftentimes affect our relationships with others, cause hesitation in our efforts to progress, they even can hinder our ability to have a full healthy relationship with God. Whatever that "thing" is or was...let it go. Simply make up in your mind to no longer be a victim to it. Whatever you have done or been through, God knows and He sent His Son to die for you so that it would all be covered under the blood of Jesus. Confess the sin today. If it's not of your doing then forgive the perpetrator of the sin against you today. Whatever has happened, it is all in the past and it cannot harm you, stop you from your destiny or keep you oppressed and victimized anymore as long as you do not allow it to do so anymore. Remember this:

Romans 3:22-24 (New Century Version) 22 God makes people right with himself through their faith in Jesus Christ. This is true for all who believe in Christ, because all people are the same: 23 Everyone has sinned and fallen short of God's glorious standard, 24 and all need to be made right with God by his grace, which is a free gift. They need to be made free from sin through Jesus Christ.

Prayer:(This can be a very sensitive and personal issue; therefore, I will not provide a pre-worded prayer. Instead I suggest that you ask yourself today if you need to be forgiven for something you have done against another or if it is you who needs to forgive someone who has hurt you. Talk to God about it in your own way, then from today forward... LET IT GO.)

Very well said. You can ruin your life handing on to negative thoughts. After all these years, I figure, don't pray for anything, just pray.
