Alien Abduction | If Someone Tells Me They Were The Victim Of An Alien Abduction, Who Am I To Say Otherwise?
A perfectly fine day made extremely weird by a co-worker...
So there we are, working away, just like any other day when bang.... A co-worker, we shall call her Alice, gives me the honor of letting me know her deepest, darkest secret. She has been abducted by an alien vessel when she was a teenager! OH MY GOD! Why is she telling me this? I'm not a poker player, but on that day I had the best poker face ever know to man. Inside I was laughing just as hard as anyone else who would have been told this kind of story. I mean, what a kook! right? err... um, uh... right? I mean she must be a kook... No, wait, I've know Alice for about five years and she's perfectly fine. She's happily married with two wonderful children, keeps a tidy home, works hard... she's as normal as they come! So she was abducted by aliens when she was a kid... so what?
Then it got me thinking... who the hell am I to say that she's loopy? Is it any more crazy than some of the ideas that certain organized religions are selling? Alice is a great gal, and if she says she's been probed by E.T. then I believe her.
Was she kidding me?
As she was describing her experience, I couldn't help but notice the similarity to that 1993 movie "Fire In The Sky". Similar situation (less intense), she was camping with family and friends. When they went out into the woods to get kindling for the campfire something strange happened. When they came after what they thought was 15 minutes of foraging Alice's mom was worried sick and scolded Alice and her friend severely for being gone for almost an hour and a half!... oooooooh! spooky, she must have been abducted by aliens!
Kind of like the movie... but then who am I to say that she was lying? Maybe that's how the little greenies do it. Maybe she's just confirming the story behind the movie. All I could have done was to look at her and say, "Oh, my! Do you remember anything?" To which she replied, "No, it's like I've lost an hour and a half of my life! An hour that is missing that I never even would have known was gone if my mother hadn't noticed!"
Well, well. So she was abducted by aliens.
