Spirit-Body and Soul. Are you listening to your inner voice?

We are spiritual human beings- who live in a body and possess a soul.

My spirit is in bondage, at night I hear her scream...

"I'm yearning, burning, desiring to be free!"

I'm awed by these words, they inspire me.

she's yearning- discerning- desiring to be free.

She says she's the spirit, that speaks to the soul.

And she's crying out-loud for her words to be heard.

I'm fueled by her passion, it burns within me.

she's yearning- burning- desiring to be free.

Her words are creative, she speaks poetically.

She's trying-striving- desiring to be free.

She says she's the passion that lives within me.

And she's dying- trying - crying to be free.

She says she's the spirit of body and soul

And she's crying out loud for her words to be heard.

I'm fueled by her fire... it burns within me.

For she's yearning!

Burning!

Desiring to be free!

I can be anything I want to be. But, if it is to be, it's up to me!

— unknown

I credit this book for helping me to unlock the boundaries that kept me in spiritual bondage.

Your gifts are designed to bless the world.

This is a poem about passion and drive so consuming it burns. My awakened spirit longs to be all that she can be in this short time on earth. Those who have read my poem "My eyes are opened" have a better understanding of why I have an "awakening" that is very intense.

It's my sincere wish that by sharing the desires of my heart, I encourage all who recognize their gifts, to pursue them for the betterment or, uplifting of our brother and sisters; and pursue them with a diligence that burns.

Nothing brings more glory to our Lord than recognizing we are so unique, so wonderfully and fearfully made, that we can do anything that is placed in our hearts to do.

Using the tools you were born with.

When your spirit-body and soul are perfectly aligned with the universe, you are capable of operating in your fullest potential. Your gifts are not always designed to bring wealth, but are designed to bring joy to the lives of others. There are people who do not see their gifts as important. They've been brainwashed in negative- worldly- ways. for example: "It can't be too important if I can't make money off of it." Walking in fear or "lack" has caused many to down play their gifts as hobbies, or something they could do in their spare time. The truth is our gifts are the tools we possess to enable us to be successful in this world; and it's up to us to discover them, and utilize them to the best of our ability. You were born with the necessary tools to complete your destiny on earth. You have all that you need. Now, the only thing is to let go of the fear, step into the shoes and walk.

Don't be afraid to be different.

When you decide to pursue your passion don't be surprised or swayed by the reaction of other people. People who think " outside of the box " are viewed as strange creatures, and you are strange when you go against the grain. We are taught to go to school, go to college and find a good job. Rarely do you find people who will motivate you to strive to be your own person and all that that entails. We all crave security, and unfortunately we have been trained that security only comes with a stable paycheck. What you don't understand is no matter how you slice it, someone else is in control of your joy, your finance's, your peace of mind. Also, what the world will blind you to is the fact that more than likely you will stress yourself out, sometimes working more than one job, just to find out that for all your stress, and all your hard work, somehow you'll never be rich. By the time you become enlightened to this you have worked yourself into bad health, plenty of debt and are spiritually and mentally in bondage.

Yes, Dana, you are right. There is something of us that impells us to rouse our passions and reach to the crux of everything before we pack up. You have pointed out the very nerve of purpose of our existence. I love this poem. Have a nice day.

Hi Dana, this poem speaks of how our born again spirits hover over our souls seeking to always penetrate and be heard so that we can become the expression of what God impresses and inspires via spiritual life. The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching the inward parts of the belly. Our spirits have the light the soul needs to transform and conform us into the Imago Dei (the image and likeness of God). Voted up!

mabelhenry: thank you for your support with the vote up I really appreciate it. You are so right my 'born again spirit' has been hovering over my soul and crying out to be heard. When I first wrote this poem I was shocked at how strong my desire to write was and my spirit was no longer willing to be silent. My spirit wants to glorify God all the time. But my flesh is sometimes hard to control. I have written several poems about how my spirit is strong but the flesh is sometimes weak.

Jesus told us that it is the spirit that quickens us, but that the flesh is weak. Have you ever noticed how your spirit is always willing to do, act, speak, and is always inspired by God. it also helps to understand that the flesh is waiting final redemption, but the spirit is already redeemed, and ever ready to be the expression of God He intends for us to be by renewing our minds by the Word and Spirit. We are a spirit, we live in a body, and we have a soul.

Hey Dana, I saw one of your comments on my friend Eric's hub and was impressed so thought I'd check your hubs. Glad I did, I love this poem. It is unique but gets it's message across powerfully. "I'm yearning, burning, desiring to be free!" This line is exactly how my spirit of expression is. I just seem drawn to a certain message or cause that I have to write about for people to read, and I need to do it urgently. Well done. Voted up.

Great poem Dana, I will add that "inspiration" is merely a state of mind. Too many of us fail to go beyond inspiration to actually making a decision, putting it into action, and staying with it until we realize the desired result. I see this not so much as a human weakness, as it is a limit to what we can achieve as humans at particular moments in our lives, and needing to connect with a higher source of wisdom and power to get us over the hump. In my own life I've known that believing in a higher power is not a delusion as Richard Dawkins would have us believe.

Ben Aidoo: Thank you so much for your visit and comment. Some don't go beyond inspirations. Sometimes it is very hard to put our dreams into action based on the feel of failure. But the true failure is in never trying. Also I believe nothing fails that is in God's will. In this poem my spirit feels in bondage and tired of not living in what she knows she was created to be.
