Introduction

Staurolite, is better known by the name Fairy Cross. This actually a pretty unique stone. Yes, I know this is something I say about all of the stones but this time it proves to be true. If you look at the picture of Staurolite to the right you will see why it is so unique. It truly forms a cross.

Like with many crystals and gemstones Staurolite has many magical properties, sadly this stone does not have many healing properties as the others do. Still it can come to be very useful to you. In this hub you will learn many different associations of the Fairy Cross, along with the Lore of this stone. You may be surprised what you come to find.

Lore

There's actually a little bit of Christian Lore behind this stone, their theory of how this stone came to be. The story states that during the crucifixion of the lord the angels shed many tears and the fell to the earth, crystallizing in the form of Staurolites. Another story states that they were formed by tears that the fairies had shed when Jesus had died.

This stone is said to represent the four elements of air, earth, water and fire. It was once believed that one who'd wear this stone as a talisman could will the elements to do as his/her bidding. It's also believed that the cross symbolizes the crossing of the spiritual and physical plains.

Healing

As I mentioned before this stone isn't meant to heal very much. It is best used for personal healing like anything to do with your mental state for example. Depression, self confidence, stuff along those lines. Perhaps use it on you chakras to aid with balancing and in result could help with your mental state.

Though this isn't much information I'd still like to add, like I always do, that I am not a doctor and it's always best to consult a professional healer/doctor before relying on crystal healing yourself.

Magical Associations and Uses

Staurolite is said to correspond with the candle color Burgandy and to connect with all four elements, which may be very useful to you.

This crystal does connect with other stones/crystals and these include Banded Agate, Mahogany Obsidian, and petrified wood. Flowers and plants that are associated with Staurolite include Foxglove and Primrose. As for herbs, incenses and even oils anything along the lines of Ambergris, basil, pine and sage bush would be best when working with this beautiful piece.

The planet associated with the Fairy Cross is Pluto and the Zodiac sign is Scorpio.

When it comes to animals this stone can help relieve any burden that may be on an animal and for children the Fairy Cross can help those who suffer from any kind of chronic illness.

In the finance department/prosperity this piece is said to be a good luck charm so it may come to some good use for you.

In the home this stone can help prove a feeling of inner peace and even a feeling of security. Sadly this is needed more and more these days.

In protection this stone can be used for any kind of general protection. Give it a shot and it may just work for you.

When it comes to the psychic department try using this stone to channel the elemental wisdom.

It's said to be the stone of crusaders but for those who only mean the best for mankind. In other words if you are out for harm and not really to help mankind then this isn't for you.

This stone can be used in any kind of elemental magic it can add a little bit of a boost and when you get a good look at it you can see why it would.

It the work force this stone can be a personal power charm. You may want to carry around with you or wear a piece of it as a necklace.

Where They Can Be Found

These stones can be found in North America around certain areas in Maine, Colorado, New Hampshire, Georgia and certain parts of New Mexico. These stones have also been found in certain spots of Switzerland, France and Scotland.

Conclusion

I find these stones to certainly be magical. A certain part of me is drawn to these stones even though I only recently discovered what they were. I did my research and quickly learned what they were and what they could be helpful for. Hopefully soon enough I will also have one of these as a part of my collection. Until then I will feel happy enough to share the information about them for now.

How interesting, do you mean that the stones in the photograph are their natural form, not made in to crosses?

Their natural forms have the crosses on them no matter what. The ones that have the circle are the ones that look more natural, the stones that are not circular have had the stone around them removed. But the crosses always appear popped out of the rock like a cross, naturally.
