Prayer and Holy Ghost Power
The Holy Spirit revealed something amazing to me this morning and I just had to share it. God has made many changes in my life and I can see fruit from those changes, but there are some areas that haven't budged! In fact, there's one area that seems to be bigger and stronger than ever. The Bible calls these issues strongholds.
Gals, and maybe some of you guys, you will relate to this one. I have struggled with food issues all my life. I love to eat, as many of us do, but I have turned to food in times of stress when I should have turned to God. I have taken this to Him more times than I care to admit asking Him to please take it away, but He never did. Did you catch that phrase, "Asking Him to take it away?" I wanted Him to take away the temptation so I wouldn't have to do any of the hard work!
Lately, I have been listening to Joyce Meyer. Joyce points out that nowhere in the Bible did Jesus say we would not have temptation. In His model prayer, Jesus was saying, when we are tempted, do not walk into or be captured by temptation. We are to pray, "Lead us not into temptation." We need to know our weaknesses and pray before we enter those sometimes unavoidable places, such as mealtimes, where temptation can occur. So, I decided to get serious! I love Mt.11:12 in the Amplified Bible, "And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize--a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion]." I confessed that I did not want to let go of this crutch and that He had to, "...cause my thoughts to become agreeable to His will so my plans will be established and succeed." (Prov. 16:3)
Not long after I submitted to His will, I flipped on my TV and there before me was an infomercial for a complete exercise program set to praise and worship music and an eating plan based on God's Word. Once I became willing to do the hard work, God released the manifestation of His will for my life.
But, I have saved the best for last. Not only did He provide an answer for my physical needs but He actually revealed what my prayer did in the spiritual realm. As I was praying this morning, He gave me the amazing imagery of an erupting volcano. He said that the mountain represented me, and the eruption or break through was His resurrection power, and the burning lava spilling forth was His holy fire within me. He said that the mountain (me) could not contain all of what He placed within, so it had to erupt and pour out. He said it was a visual interpretation, in the spirit, of my prayer being answered as the burning lava approached the stronghold, and consumed it, along with its agents, lack of self-control and discipline, as it traveled the course of its path. Then, He gave me this: (please click on the link below)

After I watched the video, He said that the water represented His living waters that have washed the residue away. When the enemy comes after me, as I know he will, I can close my eyes and vividly recall the reality of what God did for me, and better yet, I can remind the devil that he has no more power over me in this area of my life. Free indeed! What an awesome God we serve! I pray this will help win the battles you, too, must face with the accuser of the brethren. To God be all the glory!
