Tempted to Lose Faith
I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Psalm 116:1
When my prayers get answered I am surprised. At least sometimes I am. Actually to be totally honest I occasionally forget that I was praying for that particular situation. Then it dawns on me and I begin to thank the Lord. He loves us and He hears our prayers.
Supplication: 1. To ask for humbly or earnestly, as by praying. 2. To make a humble entreaty to; beseech.
With this particular situation I was praying for probably about year off and on, but in the last few months I was thinking of giving up on the whole idea. Probably about a month before giving up it happened. Thank God. I was so wrapped up in focusing on some other problems that were most likely caused because of this one that I didn’t really notice right away that it was answered prayer. God works in mysterious ways. Thank God for His mercy. You know that verse that says that God won’t give you more than you can handle. Well I think that He won’t give you more than your faith can handle.
There hath no temptation taken hold of you but such as is common to man. But God is faithful; He will not suffer you to be tempted beyond that which ye are able to bear, but with the temptation will also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
Maybe the giving up on faith or letting our faith deteriorate is the temptation.
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that you could help us keep the faith. I pray that you can give us strength to carry on while we are praying to you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
