The Bible Tells Me So
The simple children's hymn tells of how innocent children believe in Jesus Christ. "Jesus loves me" is so simple and is the start of teaching our children to love and be loved.
"Little children to him go, for they are weak and he is strong" Jesus was teaching the children to come to him and live in his protection and love, to love and be loved. How easy is that? The phrase "out of the mouths of babes" is where love begins.
There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for a friend. Jesus calls us his friend rather than any other term and he saved us so that we could be forgiven for any and all the transgressions we have committed in life. As he asks is that we love our neighbor as he loved us.
Jesus calls upon us to help each other through the times when everything seems to be black and dismal such as suffering the effects of an illness, or losing a home to a fire. What makes the homeless any less than ourselves? How many times has God answered our prayers that were simple needs that we asked in Jesus' name?
Military people know this kind of love. They are bonded to one another by their love of God and country. They live in harms way so that all of us can live in fellowship and in freedom.
We should remember the simple tune "Yes, Jesus loves me, the bible tells me so," and live our lives in love and friendship with each other.
