The Bible Was A Message In Time

Christ, another Bible,

the detective picked up

that opened book,

and without taking a look,

he tossed it onto a chair,

with a dozen others,

and it wasn’t that he didn’t care,

the Bibles were just found there,

book marked at the same page,

it was almost like an act on stage,

the bookmark held its place,

even as pages fluttered

in the cool breeze of an air conditioner,

amongst the clutter,

Lamentations 2:21:...

A Bible was found after every murder,

right next to the body, without fail,

almost like a paper trail,

shedding light on a dark city,

and remembering a line,

" you have slaughtered them without pity,"

It was a true crime,

and the Bible was a message in time.

This is really cool. Is it the beginning of a story? Although it can stand alone, I can see you building on it. I love the whole premise of it.

This one was beyond scary. It's so cool how you can make a beautiful rhyme but yet tell a story and convey such harsh emotions. The Bible in the mix just somehow makes it all the scarier. The mixture makes for a heady brew.
