The Coming of the True Light

The Coming of the True Light

“The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.”

John 1:9

What Christmas is all about ?

Christmas is just around the corner, as we hear different Christmas songs, we hear some people’s concepts of what Christmas is all about. To many Christmas is all about romance. Songs like “You’re All I Want For Christmas,” “Blue Christmas,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” “Christmas Won’t Be The Same Without You” reminds of one’s longing to be with his beloved this Christmas season.. Still to many it is about sharing and giving love as reminded by Michael Jackson’s Christmas hit song “Give Love On Christmas Day.” To some still it is about merrymaking in the snow as reminded by the songs like “Sleighride,” “Frosty the Snowman,” and Winter Wonderland.

These things are not bad but these songs do not reveal the true essence of Christmas. Christmas is about the coming of the true light of the world, Jesus the Christ.

There is so much darkness in the world today.Look everywhere around you. Look all over the world, there is so much chaos. There is so much chaos in the economics and in the politics. Nations are racing for nuclear sovereignty, wars and rumors of wars are everywhere, in Africa, in the MiddleEast and in Asia. There is a constant threat of nuclear war.

In the economics, nations economies are tumbling down. Even in the Eurozone there is a shaking in the economics. People are in chaos rallying against the alleged cuts in their unemployment benefits.

In East Asia, North Korea is threatening South Korea for war. Violence and terrorism is everywhere. We are indeed in the Noah days when violence and wickedness is at its height. There is so much lawlessness everywhere. There is so much darkness in the world, is there still a reason to celebrate Christmas ?

Though the world is in darkness, the light of Christ continue to shine. Nothing, no force in the universe can ever extinguish the light of Christ. The light of the Gospel of the Lord JesusChrist can never be extinguished by the forces and powers of darkness.. The light of Christ will continue to bring salvation and glory to the darkness of men’s lives. The light of Christ will continue to bring revelation about god’s abounding mercy and love to the strife-filled lives of people of the world. As the light of the sun gives beauty to the earth, the light of Christ will continue to bring beauty and meaning to our lives.

The light of Christ dispels all forms of darkness . It brings illumination to darkened minds and hearts. The light of Christ will continue to expose the evil and darkness of men’s minds. motives and intentions. As the sun’s light gives energy, the light of Christ will continue to energize its children to do exploits and marvelous deeds that will bring glory to God.

Though there is so much darkness in the world, for us Christians who experienced the light of Christ, there is still great reason to celebrate Christmas. The light of Christ that illumines our lives should continue to shine in our lives so that others who are still in darkness will come to the true understanding and knowledge of God.

The light of Christ will continue to live on through the years until eternity. It is the only hope of a dark and dying world.

Great article Maria Cristina, especially in lieu of the holiday season. The secular Christmas celebrations quite often cast a shadow over the true "Holy Spirit" of this time of year. May our Lord's light continue to shine through it all! As... "He that is within us is greater than he that is in the world".

With blessings for you and your fiancé... Rev.Ted

I remember when I was 20. It was my first Christmas as a born again believer. I was attending the local Assemby of God church. My first pastor. He preached on the true meaning of Christmas. His words were powerful. There was an annointing on his message. I felt so pure. I felt so humble. I felt so indebted. Holiness filled the air as the Spirit of God moved on me. I will never forget that feeling. I crave it. The Christmas songs took on new meaning for me. It didn't matter what was happening in my life or in the world. It was me and God. It was God in me. It was an understanding of the magnitude of what He did to save me. It was sacred.

Now 28 years later the same experience is still available. God has not changed. While I have been bruised and battered, His love for me has not changed. While I have commited many sins since that day, He still declares me blameless and pure. I love the feeling of being washed clean. Though the storms come and the winds blow, He holds me in His right hand. He will not let me be defeated.

God bless you cristina. Merry Christmas!

I still remember one christmas, christmas of 1991 when I was just 25 years old, when the Holy Spirit touched my heart and infills me and filled my heart with unspeakable joy. That was my most memorable christmas I will never forget it as long as I live. Truly the message of Christmas will live on through the years. The light of christmas will never be extinguished. Merry Christmas also fred allen ! May God's presence be with you this christmas. Blessings and regards.
