The Garden Of God Or The Garden Of Eden?

In Genesis we are told about the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden which was beautiful and perfect. However, the Garden of Eden did not last forever because of the serpent, who tempted Eve to eat the fruit of the Tree of knowledge. After Eve ate of the tree of knowledge she gave some to Adam, who also ate of the tree of knowledge. Sadly after that, they both became ashamed, because their eyes opened and they knew what was given to them from the tree of knowledge.

Later, Jehovah came to them and they told Him they had eaten fruit from the tree of knowledge. He gave them cloth to wear, but sadly made them leave the Garden of Eden. They were never allowed to come back into the Garden of Eden again. But, the Garden of Eden is not the only Garden the bible teaches us about. There is another Garden. This one is called The Garden of God.

Ezekiel 31:2-9 Tells us about the beauty of the Garden of God. In which God Himself is speaking of the Garden of God. This is an amazing part of the bible because God is describing the Garden of God, as well as a tree that grew in it.

Ezekiel 31:4 Waters were what made it get big, the watery deep caused it to grow high, with it's streams, it was growing all around it's planting place; and it's channels it sent forth to all the other trees of the field. 5: and it's boughs kept multiplying and it's branches kept getting longer because of much water in it's watercourse. 8: Other cedars were no match for it in the Garden of God resembled it, in it's prettiness. 9: Pretty is the way that I made it in the abundance of it's foliage, and all the trees in the Garden of Eden were envying it.

This is very interesting. Is there a Garden of God and a Garden of Eden? The tree in the Garden of God is also confusing, because the tree in the Garden of Eden we envious of it. So, what is so important about the tree in the garden of God?

Most people call the place the Garden of Eden. The garden is a beautiful, wonderful garden that God gave to Adam and Eve. This garden was filled with lovely plants and animals, more then anyone can even imagine, but once again it is was only a garden. Eden is written about several times in the bible.

Isaiah 37:12 Have the gods of nations delivered them, the nations of my predecessors destroyed, Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden, who were in Telassar. Although the location of Telassar is not known, the people from Eden lived there.

In Genesis 2:8 And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden in the east, and there He put the man He had created from the dirt of the ground. The mans name was Adam, and then God created a wife for Adam, as you already know, her name was Eve.

So, if the garden in Eden was in the east part of Eden, what was in the other parts of Eden? Genesis 2:19 tells us there are fields in Eden, birds, animals and every living creature. And of course Adam and Eve.

We know that Adam and Eve did not stay in the garden forever. After eating from the tree of knowledge,Adam and Eve were only cast out of the garden of the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve were never allowed to come back into the Garden of Eden Genesis 3:22. God sent Cherubim and a Flaming sword to guard the garden of Eden. After leaving the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve went East of the Garden of Eden. That is where they started their lives.

But what about the Garden of God? Is there any way to find the Garden of God? Is it hidden from us, or guarded from us? Will we ever have a chance to find the Garden of God? Even if we do find the Garden of God, will we ever be allowed to enter it?

What do you think about this?

Good point there Michele,

Perhaps it can the location of the land of Eden can be found but the garden can never be found for it is not God's will to reveal it.

The garden is guarded up to this day according to the Scriptures. Revelation 2:7 also refers to the garden:

"To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God."

The garden is in the complete care of God and He will allow those who overcome access to it and the tree of life.

No, we are the ones who failed. God gave us the power to choose. If we did not have the power to choose. we would be nothing more than robots. Simple robots, who follow what has been written on a computer. Nothing more. I am sorry for all that is happening in the world today. But, very happy we are not robots.

No one has ever seen God.

The bible was written by man for man without any divine knowledge.

Even in the Bible God Failed.

If you create something and it fails, then the creator has failed.

Even the Angels who have according to the bible seen God and Heaven chose to leave both.

The Earth and the Universe are poor creation filled with death and destruction.

Man has not changed for the better in recorded history.

Robots would at least behave better than man.

It has been two thousand years and not even a postcard from your God.

You need to get some updates.

Michelle as was stated earlier a very thought provoking hub. This hub like others you have written is going to see comments that conflict but the dialogues your hubs generate are a a good thing (as long as it doesn't become abusive) and they enhance the message of your hubs. They are always informative and you always hold fast to your own belief system and information you have obtain that support how you perceive god/religion. Writing about God and politics is always going to generate some dissent but that is what will keep your readers coming back for more...even if it is just to scoff your work is being read and processed. What more can a writer ask for but to have their ideas read?

Hi Laura! How are you doing? Thank you for your comments. This one will be short compared to the Why Pagans Became Christians hub. That one is out of control. I am probably not be writing much in about a week or so, because the website will be starting. But, until then just maybe a few about racism or politics. Oh, sorry got off topic.

Thanks again for your comment:)

ib radmasters yes the world is in a very bad condition. Wars, famine, death, destruction, hatred. What you wrote is true. Man has not changed for the better, probably for the worse, but that has been written in Revelation. In hubpages, well mostly in forums, people have been arguing back and forth about God. Some Christians try to force their religion upon others. I won't do that. Or, some Christians tell others they are going to hell. I will not do that. To judge someone is wrong. At least I think it is. You can believe what you wish. I will not judge you for that.

The garden of god vs the garden of eden: Yes I also wondered about this long ago. I believe that their is the concept of god's paradise, which can only be described or seen by visions. As for Eden, I do believe that it was a garden paradise on earth, somewhere near ancient south Mesopotamia. Eden can also simply refer to any exotic garden paradise found anywhere in the world.

Hi Micheal.

I just heard a sermon by Pastor Tom that said the exact same thing. The reason Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden of Eden was because if they ate from the tree of life as well as the tree of knowledge imagine the horrour they would have done.

When we get to Heaven thee will be a tree of life waiting for us.

Great article.

God bless you.

God knows I believe that there are still small and large patches of the Garden created by God that man has not yet destroyed. God know I also believe in heaven on earth inside me, base on my righteousness and hell on earth based on how evil I can be. I have experienced heaven and hell here on earth and has seen the Garden grow. It's a spiritual thing in being, but thats just me.

Michele, absolutely!

You've made a genuine point that the beauty and uniqueness of the garden of Eden is beyond anyone's imagination ...

Our world is full of all kind of natural " gardens ", some of their amazement is being said ' like garden of Eden'...

However without comparisment to one where the Master of the Universe was walking, having friendly conversation as any loving father talks to his children when instructing for life and living . It was holy.

Soon, after abrupt interruption of this holy relationship , God's only choice was to ban rebellious couple to come back .

It had to remain holy and pure .

Very nice read, Michele. Agreeable .

Peace ; Michael

@ ibradmaster , re: " postcard "

The God of the Universe communicate in away and by means He chooses. Yes, He isn't sending you a postcard. However when you accept His terms for relationship with Him, your communication with God will be the same as the rest of His children : in spirit and truth .

hey I just got to read this hub.. its great!..

can it be that first angels that were designed to only serve God, then he created man and women because he wanted their service by free choice, and- consequently .. the tree of knowledge of good and evil gave them the opportunity to choose. God had to create a choice for them, in order to have free choice. .. Of course we know that the tree of life is the grand prize.. or the "remedy" for mans degraded position resulting from his choice. BUt ToDAY .. harden not your heart as in the day of provocation, and

Psa 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

Psa 95:7 For he [is] our God; and we [are] the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,

Psa 95:8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, [and] as [in] the day of temptation in the wilderness:

Psa 95:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.

Psa 95:10 Forty years long was I grieved with [this] generation, and said, It [is] a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:

Psa 95:11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heb 3:8--Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

Hbr 3:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

Hbr 3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in [their] heart; and they have not known my ways.

Hbr 3:11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

Hbr 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

Hbr 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Hbr 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

Hbr 3:15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

-- As I read all of these scriptures, God is grieving the choice that man made to be seperated from him. the Bible is an on going story of Man drawing close to him and then falling away again.. Bu it shows this was a serious and important part of who God was..

He has designed so many beautiful things for man to enjoy. and the wonders of the heavens that we are now being able to see through space research.. worlds without end.

Michele Travis profile image

Michele Travis 4 years ago from U.S.A. Ohio Author

Your comment is exactly correct. Not only were people given free will, but so were the angels. God did not create robots, no all of us were given free will. It just depends on how we use it. Look at the world today, a lot of people are not using it the way they should. At least world leaders are not, that is why the world is suffering. The world sort of looks the way the bible said it would. The bible which was written so long ago, we are looking the way it said it would today. Isn't that interesting? How did the St. John know that when he wrote Revelation?

Love your comment.

Vladimir Uhri profile image

I believe this way. Man was created to God's image and man already had the choice in himself. The Tree of Knowledge Good and Evil was information record room. God did not let eat Adam or Eve from it. God would revealed to Him the past, but not via deceiver. He is liar from the beginning.

Michele Travis profile image

Michele Travis 4 years ago from U.S.A. Ohio Author

Vlad you are correct. The deceiver is the liar from the beginning and will be until the end. That part will never change.

im sorry I didn't mean to put all the scriptures., I was trying to edit to only mention and say that God has tried to give man "other" places of beauty such as he tried to get Israel to have faith to go in to the promised land. and instead they dwelt in unbelief for 40 years. the grief's of this world are NOT because God wants us to have them, but many times because of mans choice, or because of lack of faith or unbelief. last night I read a whole long hub about a person who is asking why could there be a god, when they went through orphanages and abuse. at the end I could not make myself answer for they said they CHOOSE to NOT EVER believe because of what has happened to them. I'm sorry but I studied the "holocaust" an entire term in college, and it did not kill the faith af most of those peoples. But I understand also the grief of Adam and Eve when they were forced out of Gods Garden and kept out by the revolving sword of a cherubim.. they had to live in a cave and slowly though God still talked with them, they were isolated from the very reasonfor their existaence. their grief was extreme. they went back to the edge of the garden day after day and pled to be let back in! Instead because of this breach of sin, God could only help Adam get animal skins and learn how to live and eat outside of the garden and begin to live under the effects of the curse.. satan , lucifer, his main works under the sun are to steal, kill and destroy life. One day we will be brought back into the everlasting presence of God and enjoy his full Garden, fruits, life, endowments, because of the second man , Jesus who leads us victoriously back to eat of the tree of life. The Holy Spirit is an earnest of that inheritance. we can taste of it here, according to Gods word.

thank you..

Michele Travis profile image

Michele Travis 3 years ago from U.S.A. Ohio Author

I did not mind that you wrote in all the scriptures. That is fine. We still have the option or the will to do good or bad. When you mention the holocaust that is another way to choose good or evil. The holocaust is probably the most evil thing in the history of the entire world.

I believe Hitler sold his soul to the devil. Even evil leaders in history such as Nero, or Caligula would have been sickend by Hitler and what he did not only to Jews, but people in Poland, people who had handicaps, the elderly, anyone who was not of the assyrian race.

The fact that people who survived the holocaust and still loved God is amazing.

The fact that people do not believe the holocaust never happened amazes me. It did happen and we have proof that it happened!

It was so recent in our history, we have pictures that could not have been fake. We have the museums that have not only pictures of people who died in the holocaust, but shoes of the children whose parents had been separated from them.

Also the horrible doctor who experimented on these children. The horrible experiments.

As well as Hitler's book!

People who left their countries because Hitler was invading them.

He was so evil, I can't even begin to understand why people deny it ever happened.

Just thinking about it makes me feel ill. How could a human ever do that. Not only Hitler, but the soldiers running the concentration camps. Sending men, women and children into the gas chambers. Then putting the bodies into pits. Or forcing people to work until they starved to death. Taking pictures of the bodies in mass graves.

And people still deny it!

That was one of the most evil things ever happened in the history of our entire world! It was so horrible, it is just amazing that anyone could even think it might not have happened.

When I was working as a nurse I had a very old woman I was caring for. She had a number on the upper part of her left arm. She was Jewish. And she came from Israel after the holocaust. She told me she had been given that number as a child, but would not tell me anything more. That was over 15 years ago, and she still loved God.

So, it is true that God gives man the choice. Some still choose evil. And some choose God.

You speak as though the Garden of Eden is separate from the Garden of God, but it isn’t. They are one, and the same. The Gan of Eden was the Gan of God

If you’ll read Ezekiel 28:13 it says, in the KJV

Thou hast been in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, ......
