The Great American Fast III Set to Go
This year's third Great American Fast is set for Friday, September 6th at 6:00 p.m. and will continue through Saturday, September 7th at 6:00 p.m. Our goal remains the same as other years - to see the glory of the Lord return to this great nation; to see the God of the Universe high, and lifted up again.
What began in 2010 as a local prayer effort in Bellefonte, PA has spread to 28 states and 12 foreign nations. Those seeking to join in the fast are encouraged to sign up at www.thegreatamericanfast.org. Individuals and churches will be meeting during this time throughout the country with one goal in mind – meeting with God.
No matter where you are, join us in a sanctified time of prayer and seeking God beginning at 6:00 p.m. this September 6. We may be separated by distance, but not by Spirit. The same Spirit that has called you to be part of The Great American Fast will unite us through His Spirit wherever we may be.
There is a tremendous prayer effort taking place in America and God is hearing. Although America still has a long way to go, she is making progress. I encourage you - no, I challenge you to be a part of something bigger than yourself. I challenge you to make a difference for God through sincere effort in prayer.
One thing I know - if you are seriously seeking God, the devil will be right behind you. He will do all he can to disrupt your time alone with the Lord. Just determine right now to stand against him. God will use you in mighty ways if you allow Him. You are capable of accomplishing so much more than you have. Even if you see yourself as a spiritual giant, there is still more to do, but you can only do exploits for God if you are on praying ground. You see, The Great American Fast was never meant to be just a one day event, but an everyday event.

Although many will be praying throughout the U. S. at that time, the official observance of the Fast will take place at the Lamar Lighthouse Camp in Lamar, PA. The weekend has been set aside for those wishing to, and able to come together, as like-minded individuals to pray and fast for the glory of the Lord to return. This is a powerful time as God reveals Himself to His people.
The meeting will feature four guest speakers. Rick Vincent (NJ), Dave Iseminger (MI), Neal Hendrigsman (MI), and Larry Richmond (CT) will preach during the weekend. Much time has been reserved for prayer. Prayer focus for the event will center on self-examination, reaching the lost, sharing burdens, and upholding ministries.
A time of singing and special music will be sprinkled throughout. Jim Swanson (NY) will be leading the congregational singing. Dan and Alischa Richmond (MA) will be backing him on piano and violin. Lena and Emily Iseminger (MI) also will be sharing on the piano.
Forget the music. Focus on the message.
The camp tabernacle will be open and made available all night for those desiring to spend late night, early morning, or all night in prayer. Prayer is the key to this nation's recovery. We, in the Christian community, have given so much away. It is time to begin taking back what God has given us. Prayer is the place to start.
When I think of all of the great movements of God in the past, every one began with fervent, zealous prayer. God responds to the heart-cries of His people. If we humble ourselves, seek His face, turn from our wicked ways, and pray, THEN He will hear. He will forgive. He will heal. He will answer.
Psalm 2:8 goes on to say, 'Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance . . . ." I understand the prophetic significance of this verse, but really, it is what it is. America has become a heathen nation right under our noses. Am I so foolish to believe it is not God's will for this nation to return to Him? Are you so foolish?
John 14:13, 14 says, " And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it." To ask in His name is to ask according to His will. Isn't it about time we just take God at His word. Why is the American church so anemic? Because we don't take God at His word.
My friend, God means what He says. Please join me as we call out to God to do His will this September 6th and 7th, See how God will work in your life. See what He will do in your family; in your church. See what He has in store for America. By the way - time is running out.
