The Growing Danger of Christians And Others Not Knowing Their Bible…

Years ago, as boy new to this country by way of California, I pondered how avowed Christians could allow the usual race hustlers - then it was the Reverend Jessie Jackson - to blatantly pervert the plain Word of Christ to serve their lucrative personal interests, at the expense of many a Black, by invoking their ‘blame whitey’ refrains. Yes, there were legitimate gripes and they still are about the disparity between Blacks and Whites in this country… but not by addressing and remediating them at the expense of the ‘Truth’ in the Gospels. And now even others outside the racial debate have been employing this demonic strategy of lying and perverting what is plainly written in the Bible to push certain agendas.

I recalled that down in law school in Ohio, my Catholic room-mate and I were driving around when we saw a billboard, representing The People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (herein after PETA), that said in bold letters that Jesus, The Christ, was a vegetarian… in essence intimating that the Lord would have chastised those of us who love meat - I supposed that the Lord would have deemed us carnivores in the same condemning light and breath as He did for the Sadducees and the Pharisees for their Sinful faults.

My Catholic bud knowing that I regularly read my Bible asked me - or perhaps it was I who interjected - was the Billboard truly representing who Christ was and is concerning our eating of meat. I quickly searched my mind and the Lord brought the apt scriptures that showed me what liars or what ignorance those from PETA who had written that caption about The Christ being a vegetarian. I conveyed to my Catholic room-mate what is written in the Gospel of Luke 24:41-43, which, ironically took place after the Lord was raised from the dead, that He was on the beach when The Lord Jesus cooked and served His disciples fish and honey comb… and to further underscore that it is ok to eat meat… those of us who know our Bible recalled when the Lord Jesus, via three dreams, gave the Apostle Peter, a devout Jew concerning diet, license to eat meat, just along as said meat was blessed (Acts 10-15).

You may say that this was a slight infraction on the part of PETA… true, but what of the more important issues of the day that are dividing the church when the Lord Christ has plainly spoken on those issues or through his conduits of the Christian Faith. There are secularists and even Christians who have perverted the Word of God to justify certain behaviors: take Abortion, there are those who would passionately argue that The Christ never spoke directly on the murder of babies in the womb… but Divine logic should tell us that the Lord need not have opined directly on certain issues when He walked in the flesh. Follow my foolishness when I say that John The Baptist, the fore-runner and blood cousin to the Lord, was six months older than the Christ… but while John was in his mother’s womb and The Christ was three months old in Mary’s womb, John the Baptist leaped for joy in his mother, Elizabeth’s womb, in recognition of his Cousin and Lord (Luke 1:41-44). Do I then further need to drop more bread crumbs to show the wickedness that is Abortion?

On the issue of same sex marriage or homosexuality, every day we hear how it is Ok in the eyes of Christ Jesus. Witnessed what the Lord said: “And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’ (Matthew 19:4-5)?” In addition, Jesus also said that: before Abraham was, I Am (John 8:58)… meaning that He was with the Father (God) depicted in the Book of Genesis 19 when Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for engaging in sinful behaviors, chief among them, homosexuality - how then can we say that same sex marriage is Ok when Jesus does not even condone the act of sex between men and women before marriage… deeming it the Sin of Fornication?

Even when the pillars of the Christian faith, like The Apostle Paul, in our Bible wrote against such behaviors, we find excuses to disavow such admonitions. Case in point, in Romans 1:26-27, Paul wrote: For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

I say to those Christians and others who are going to read this blog… please do not take what Verily Prime has to say about the Word of God through His Christ – go and read It for your selves… so that ravening wolves that are self serving - like many of our Civil Right leaders and organizations like PETA - do not take advantage of your ignorance. You have noticed that throughout this blog that I quoted scriptures to support my premise on the issues discussed above… so that you may see that I am not making up or fashioning my take on said issues from whole cloth... and, moreover, so that you too can go and prove me right or wrong.

Incidentally, you may ask why do I think that what is written in the Bible is the Word of God: All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2nd Timothy 3:16). The times are such that one must be even circumspect in what Bible he or she reads because there are moves afoot to change the Word of God… by authoring new versions of the Bible and taking out and adding scriptures... so as to justify our Sinful lifestyles….
