Prayer

Consider The difference between traditional prayer and the collective need for positive changes.

Traditional 'prayer' is limited to a religious belief based on the premise that there is one God that is hearing every single prayer, from every single human on this planet, and deciding which one 'He' will grant, or deny.

We know logically that this can not possibly be the whole truth, or even a partial truth.

Throughout our history there have been many who claim that their lives were changed through the power of prayer.

Perhaps there were real occasions when coincidental changes have occurred in a person's life after praying to God during a particular crisis.

But we have to ask ourselves whether those resulting changes were actually through some kind of Godly "intervention", or simply the result of the subconscious mind making a decision to change things based on common sense, or logical solutions, or what we also call abstract or critical thinking.

If one has the capacity to view their situation on a rational basis and can consciously weigh each potential solution to their problem, then the subconscious awareness of what is right for all concerned rises to the conscious mind. And we accept that 'logical' decision as some kind of 'spiritual awakening 'which it certainly is, in the essence of faith.

Is that 'faith' truly attributed to spiritual intervention, or to the use of that practicality of the mind inherent in all human beings?

Or perhaps they are one and the same. After all, every aspect of our being can be attributed to the original creator(s) of humanity.

The Power of the Mind

We are well aware that humans are only using 10% of their brain throughout our lifetimes.

We have not discovered how to access the other 90% yet. But unless man destroys itself out of its ignorance and the promotion of hatred over intelligence, one day we will be able to use the 100% of our brains.

It is like buying a new computer and only using it for a limited purpose. It's potential is boundless in terms of accessing our environment, finding solutions to every day problems, seeking information on every conceivable subject, finding a job, finding a mate, finding an employee, or anything the imagination can conjure up.

If we could all put everything that is available on the Internet into our brains, it would undoubtedly cause a circuit overload - or maybe not. After all, there are people in this world with exceptional mental powers who have total recall of everything they have ever experienced in their lifetimes.

So with that in mind, and the belief that we are all connected on a universal level, then it logically follows that a collective effort on a global scale can indeed change our world for the good of all.

That collective mind "melding" can be dangerous if it involves only one facet of our existence with the exclusion of all others. Which in itself, could actually limit the power and the effectiveness of prayer on a global scale. An example of that premise would be if a group of people tried to influence other people to believe the way they do - as religious sects practice around the world today.

The power of prayer

- the crux of the matter.

The reason for this article is in direct response to an email i receive that was both exciting and frightening at the same time.

It is what it is, but what it is, is inconsistent with logical open mindedness, as will be evidenced after reading it.

The Email: titled: Prayer Sharing

Someone has said that if Christians really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. During WWII there was an adviser to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every day at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace. There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. If you would like to participate … Every evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (8:00 PM Central) (7:00 PM Mountain) (6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States and for a return to a Godly nation. If you know anyone else who would like to participate, please pass this along. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have. Please forward this to your praying friends.

Without offending any religious entity, this is a great idea but not in the context of (inviting) people to join in this vigil under the blanket of 'Christianity', or any other religion.

The collective consciousness

I do believe in the power of prayer, but when chain letters (emails) like this one are attributed to one particular religion it turns all others off.

With the reference to Winston Churchill, it gives it more credibility, but not within the same format, or vein of appropriateness.

It should encompass ALL peoples regardless of their religious affiliations. By limiting the connecting of the global consciousness to one single religion it is promoting greater polarization and division among the global mindset.

The banding together of any religious group, as a potential subliminal power, does more for polarizing people than uniting them.

There should be a national and/or global day of prayer (or psychic connection with each other) but on an equal par with one another. These mental connections must not be done in the name of any religion, but in the spirit of humanity as one collective conscious mind in order to be effective.

If the people of the world can set their ideological beliefs aside, both in the political and religious arenas, and view mankind as one global society, then the effectiveness of such a global effort would be profoundly enormous.

Are we all spreading peace and love in the world

A new and improved "chain" letter

If all people of the world could understand the strength of the power of the influence of the collective mind in concert, on a global scale, we could change the world.

A better mass mailing would be something like:

People of the world unite as one.

We can change our reality without wars and killing.

Every night at 9:00 PM take one minute out of what you are doing and think about world peace and harmony. It has the power to change the world, one person at a time, and as a global collective mind.

Clear your minds of the clutter of daily life, and picture the world as a place of peace and harmony. Without pain, suffering, dictators, money, and greed. A world in which every human being is equal to every other in all respects.

It is what we all deserve as global inhabitants, it is what we will strive to be in the future, it is what we will teach our children, it is what we will become.

Since the world is in different time zones it would be impossible for the entire global society to do this at the exact time. The next best thing would be to spread this mindset in positive waves flowing across the globe on a daily basis from one time zone into the other.

Each day would be a continuous spreading of positive energy around the globe.

Learning to love without conditions

Sharing the positive

The conclusion of that email would entreat everyone to follow these instructions:

''Please send this message to everyone you know in every part of the country you live in.

It does not matter whether one believes in the power of prayer, or any particular religious philosophy.

What does matter is that we are all human beings with the right to live free, in peace and harmony with the planet and with each other.''

There is so much negative energy in this world we have become a world filled with a hatred that is overpowering intelligence, and common sense itself.

We must never give up the hope of a better future for all living creatures who dwell on this planet.

So the next best thing to a global email awakening is for each of us to simply spread the positive energy from within ourselves, to those around us, on a daily basis.

Peace.
