The Power of The Resurrection

Source

Resurrection power and the body of Christ.

Before I get started here, I want the reader to understand that the calling on my life is a prophetic call. With that said I would like you the reader to understand that all of my writings will reflect that call. Specifically in that I see the whole picture and how that applies to the body of Christ, and reveal it through scripture. Not only on an individual basis. However, how the subject effects on an individual basis is not excluded. Each individual makes up the whole and is important to Jesus.

I know everyone likes to hear positive and encouraging words that edify, and the Bible says we are supposed to do that. I think the message in this hub is very uplifting and edifying to the individual who applies it in their lives. However, in addressing the Prophetic part of this message, I would not say that it is not edifying. I would say that it may not be seen that way to some. The reason for that is that sometimes the truth is painful. To accept the truth at times requires one to acknowledge that the path they are on is not the path they thought it was, and that they have walked into some deception. And that my friend is pretty much the state of, not all, but most of the body of Christ today.

certainly some deception touches every true follower of Jesus Christ in some way. We do have an enemy and the only weapon he has is deception. The power of the resurrection is very dangerous to the enemy. It stands to reason that the enemy will use his weapon of deception against the power of the resurrection. Some will say, Tim greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world and God would never let his body be deceived like that. That is true greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world. If we believe the Bible we have to acknowledge the many, many, warnings of the old testament prophets as well as Jesus, Paul, and the apostles of falling into deception. In fact they all said it will get worse as the day of the Lord approaches. If it were not possible warnings would not be in the Bible.

In this hub I will address the whole picture as God has revealed it to me, and that means addressing the counterfeit of the enemy. There is a counterfeit resurrection power of the enemy. There is a war raging in the earth today. It is the same war that started in the Garden of Eden. As the day of the Lord approaches that war becomes more and more intensified. Revelation 17 is symbolic of this war. The war is over what kingdom will have dominion of the earth. the kingdom of God, or the counterfeit of the devil. Revelation 12 tells us who wins the war. There I have given you in a nut shell the essence of this hub. Now lets dive into the details.

Mary and Martha

Luke 10 :38-42 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

A good translation of that "good part" mary chose is inherently (intrinsically) good; as to the believer, (agathós) describes what originates from God and is empowered by Him in their life, through faith.

And a good translation of "careful and troubled about many things" Martha was experiencing is merimnáō properly, drawn in opposite directions; "divided into parts" to the point of turbazó Being .agitated or disturbed in mind, troubled

Martha " received Jesus into her house" but unlike Mary she never sat at his feet and truly got to know him. Therefore her house was divided. Martha was Still full of worldly, intellectual pursuits, confidence in the flesh. At the time it may seem to be gain or may seem to be serving God, but in the end they are self righteous works of wood hay and stubble that will be burned up and do not produce the fruit of righteousness. The fruit of righteousness only comes through faith in Christ Jesus. Or we could put it this way. The transformation that comes from abiding in him. Sitting at his feet and getting to know him.

You may be thinking, what does all this have to do with resurrection power. That leads me to my next point. lets compare this scripture to what the Apostle Paul says in Philippians

Conformed to his death

Philippians 3:10-11 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

This is part two of that getting to know him, because if we want to truly know him at the heart of that is the cross. If we want to be conformed to Christ we must be conformed to his death. Stay with me here, I know no one likes to talk about death and suffering but there is a glorious part to this and that is the power of his resurrection. No death no resurrection. Paul said "I preach Christ and in him crucified" Jesus said "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it." This is the gospel and the gospel is "good" news let me explain.

Whatever dies at the feet of Jesus is restored in the resurrection, only in glorified form. We must give everything to Jesus not only those things we don't like about ourselves, but also those things we feel we do so well. Even those gifts and talents he has given us. What we give to him he glorifies and gives back to us. Make no mistake it is his glory and with it we do glorify him, but God chooses us to be the carriers of his glory to the world. If you are not shouting right now, I don't think you get it. The glory of the lord will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea and the resurrection is how that is possible. Also know that this is not a one time thing. This is a daily process. I think as we get the momentum going it becomes easier to do, than to not do.

So do you see how the account of Mary and Martha fits into the power of the resurrection? We can be like Martha and receive Jesus and continue in our own fleshly worldly pursuits. and be troubled in our minds. We can be like Mary and sit at his feet and begin the transformation process. But the power of the resurrection comes when we are conformed to his death.

The Counterfeit

In the introduction I addressed that there is a war raging over the rule of the earth. Specifically, which Kingdom will rule the earth, the kingdom of God or the counterfeit. I have just given you in the last two capsules the details of those two kingdoms. "The glory of the Lord covers the earth as the waters cover the sea". That is the kingdom of God ruling the whole earth. This rule is only possible as we on an individual basis are conformed to the death of the cross. The death of the cross is death to self, death to sin, death to the world. Also death to anything that is our own righteousness and not of the righteousness that is by faith in Jesus. The counterfeit is religion, Martha. I quoted Philippians 3:10-11 where the Apostle Paul speaks of knowing Christ and the power of his resurrection. Take a look at before and after verses 10 and 11. Within the context of this chapter is a warning of the counterfeit.

Paul says Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

Paul is warning us here of the counterfeit "religion". Religion on the outward appearance can look really good (Matthew 7:21-23). Paul goes on to say how knowing Christ is above all and is the mark of the high calling. The goal every Christian should be pursuing. And that we all should be of this same mind. We should all be united in this goal of the pursuit of knowing Jesus. Then Paul warns again weeping, For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things. Paul concludes that they that are heavenly minded are the glorious body that will subdue all things for Jesus. Or in other words, the kingdom of God ruling the earth.

There you have it, the two kingdoms at war for the rule of the earth. This war began in the Garden, was in Paul's day and is only the more intensified today as we are even closer to the day of the Lord. I mentioned in the introduction how this is symbolized in the book of Revelation. Specifically the seven headed beast the woman sits on in Revelation 17. I could go on and on in more depth, example after example in the new and old testament. Perhaps a hub for another day.

For those of you who are thinking I am a Dominionist, I am not affiliated with any such organization. The only thing I affiliate myself with, is that I am of the same spirit as Caleb. If you read in Numbers 13 and 14 you will see a type of what I am saying in this hub. In verse 21 of the fourteenth chapter, the almighty, sovereign God makes a dynamic statement. "But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD". You see how it all fits? Then God almighty says to Moses that the only ones that will see the land is Caleb and those of his seed, or those that are of the same spirit as him. Because Caleb had another spirit with him, and followed God fully. That is the spirit I am of, and the only thing I affiliate myself with. Lets go up at once and possess the land for the kingdom of God. For we are well able to overcome.

"We can be like Martha and receive Jesus and continue in our own fleshly worldly pursuits. and be troubled in our minds."

--- Yes, we need to learn how to worship God in the Spirit. Or we will be under the law (dammed if you do and dammed if you don't) under the mercy of others opinions...and NOT under the Grace plan which Jesus Christ instituted.

" We can be like Mary and sit at his feet and begin the transformation process. But the power of the resurrection comes when we are conformed to his death."

--- Yes, one needs to learn how to - "Let go and let God" Spiritual exercises allows the mind and emotions to quiet down - and allows the Christ within to guide a person into Soul consciousness and transcend Soul awareness into Pure Spirit. Big key to worshiping God in the Spirit: Spiritual Exercises. Peace and love

Hi Rene, I am not sure what "spiritual exercises" are but I do agree our soul is either dominated by the flesh (carnal mind) or by the spirit. The apostle Paul talks about that in Romans chapter eight. I try to practice this on a daily basis. Cannot say I have mastered it yet, however the way I see it is the first step is to get the revelation of this and begin to practice or exercise it. Most professing Christians are still very flesh dominated even though they talk about walking in the spirit, I am not convinced they have a revelation of what that is. I believe one example from the Bible of what that might look like is in Romans chapter 12. In Romans 12:1-2 paul talks about becoming a living sacrifice and being transformed by the renewing of our minds. Our minds are the engine of our souls. Then he goes on to describe what I believe is a transformed life.

Romans 12

9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; 11Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; 12Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; 13Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

14Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 16Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. 17Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. Thanks for the comment Rene and God bless

Hi Tim,

We are all walking around with the Christ consciousness, but are easily misguided by our own bad habits, which are our weaknesses and the reason why we are here physically on the planet is to observe them and overcome them. Our work is cut out for us.

I am a Minister with John Roger works, where the Christ is the head. It's a body of work of 40 years+ with amazing structure and guidance. He has written many books and made 1000's of videos on awakening to "Our True Self". To know our self as one with God. His works include the University of Santa Monica, Insight Seminars, Peace Awareness Trainings and others learning and support non-profit organizations.

All paths lead to God, all experience lead to God. There is only one consciousness which is God consciousness. There are different degrees of awareness of God consciousness, however. That's why its important to surrender our surrounding for awhile each day (or often) and honor, praise the ever lasting in dwelling Christ is so magnificent and needed.

Tim, your comment is wonderful and as you, I'm moving towards that goal and reality. Let's keep our eyes on the Lord. The blessings already are - we just need to become aware of them. Love and Light -

Hey Tim, That was a great post, thanks for sharing it. It was a solid, well balanced and from the heart message. Your love for Jesus is made very clear through your writings.

I've always loved the story about Mary and Martha, it is very profound in so many ways.

The cares and needs of this world are forever with us in this life. Thankfully, Jesus has promised His children that He will handle those cares and meet our needs. We just need to learn how to trust Him to do so.

Finding time each day to sit at the feet of our Lord is not always easy, but necessary. To clearly hear God's

"still quiet voice," requires quietness in our heart and soul.

Talking about how we love God is good, showing it through our actions without words, is better.

We need to allow God to fill us with His light, love, and Word. It becomes much more difficult then, for the darkness of deceit to overcome us.

Keep sharing your heart Tim, people are listening.
