"The Promise Fulfilled" ~ Part Seven ~

God is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient

As we read through the Old Testament and learn of God by His personal interactions with His chosen people Israel, we learn that God reprimands those who rebel against Him. He does so because He loves us and shows us by His reprimands, i.e. correction, that we are going in the wrong way. For you see the sins we commit are not against one another but against God. I don’t know about you but I thank God for His Word and I thank God for Jesus and for the redemption He brings!

So much had occurred between God’s first day of His creation of all things with the first man, Adam, being created as the last one. Rather Eve is actually the last one as God caused a deep sleep...well let’s let Him tell you what He did that day:

"And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet -(mate)- for him."

"And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." {Genesis 2:18-24}

As I was saying, so much had occurred between man’s creation and the fall in the Garden of Eden due to the deceptive craftiness of God and man’s enemy, Satan. Sin had quickly taken root as a direct result of Adam and Eve's disobedience in relation to what God had said to Adam when He instructed him and gave to him this warning about the one tree of which they were not allowed to eat from.

“Then the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it. The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.” {Genesis 2:15-17}

Adam and Eve chose to rebel against God instead of obeying Him. The two of them chose rather to believe the perversion of God’s Word by Satan instead of what God Himself personally had said to them as He walked in the Garden talking with them regularly.

When they did thus every man did indeed, that very second, begin to die. By their original act of disobedience entered in all manner of sickness, disease, hatred, warring, and yes, death. The spiritual relationship that existed between Adam and God was shattered. And then came man’s spiritual death with his separation from God because now man was unrighteous. God cannot walk with unrighteousness. He cannot be in the presence of sin. God made a way for them to be forgiven though, as He clothed them at the same time. Again I will let the Word of God speak to you Himself:

"The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them." {Genesis 3:21}

This is the first blood sacrifice for sin and it was required by the one and only Holy God because “life is in the blood”.

"For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul" {Leviticus 17:11}.

There would be millions more sacrifices to come before Jesus came into the earth to save mankind as the One Perfect sacrifice for all men. Forever.

One single sacrifice of the Son is sufficient because He is the Perfect spotless Lamb of God. God‘s only begotten Son who was born in the flesh but not “of“ the flesh.

"For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near. Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins? But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year. For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

Therefore, when He came into the world, He said, “Sacrifice and offering You have not desired, But a body You have prepared for Me; (Jesus) In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have taken no pleasure. “Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come, (In the scroll of the book it is written of Me), To do Your will, O God.’”

After saying above, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have not desired, nor have You taken pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the Law), then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first in order to establish the second. By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ and His sinless shed blood once for all.

Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet. For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying, “This is the covenant that I will make with them, after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws upon their heart, and on their mind I will write them,” He then says, “And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.” {Hebrews 10:1-18}

God is Jesus' Father. Mary’s husband, Joseph was his earthly human father whom God also chose for Jesus. The Holy Spirit of God overshadowed Mary and she who was a Virgin conceived Jesus our Messiah and Lord. The following passages from the Bible explain this:

The angel said to her, “ Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.” Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?” The angel answered and said to her, “ The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God." {Luke 1:30-35}

Conception and Birth of Jesus:

"Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned to send her away secretly. But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “ Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “ Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which translated means, “ God with us.” And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife, but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he called His name Jesus." {Matthew 1:18-25}

He is Omniscient, (all knowing), Omnipresent, (everywhere at the same time throughout history, present and future time), and God is also Omnipotent, (ALL Powerful).

There are many claims in other “religions” -(which I myself do not label Christianity itself because in today’s world the very word “religion” in relationship to Christianity leaves along with the word a bad aftertaste in many peoples mouths because of what many who claimed to be Christians, yet whose actions proved they were not, did in the name of their “religion”.

Perhaps by now you may be asking yourselves what does all this I have said so far have to do with having been set free from drugs and alcohol? I understand the question if you have it, but I cannot give you the complete answer unless I carry you along with me on the journey to The Answer from my past until now. You see, discovering these truths were a direct result from the hunger I increasingly discovered were within my spirit and soul as I began to read His Word.

At first I think it must have just been curiosity after a fashion, wondering just what was the Bible all about, you know? Although there had been many times I had had positive and helpful interactions with different pastors and people who did outreaches from their churches since the first time my Grandpa T. first took me to his church at an early age. However in the early stages of my life I was too involved with the “world" and what it had to offer for my angst.

I became a bride at the age of 15, on my birthday the first time, as matter of fact. Then after turning 16 I became a Mother for the very first amazing time with the new arrival of a perfect ten toes and ten fingers son who I named after his Dad but called Vann. Then the second equally amazing, though unexpected by then, birth of my daughter Chasity.

My point is that I was caught up in all of that, PLUS the other, though the other had not yet become what it later did nor elevated to and then declined to such a degree as it increasingly would over time.

When I first began reading my Bible it was just that, reading, period. In fact for several years it remained, I believe, simply an amazing source of history, miraculous events orchestrated by God, passion, and yes, intrigue. The Bible has the whole gamut. We in today’s society do not have the market cornered when it comes to sex nor sexual perversions. Lust, violence, crime, murder and mayhem are certainly found within the Bible from cover to cover. Albeit the New Testament is where I found The One who was to give me Hope for change. And with Him living inside my heart by the Holy Spirit of God? Change I have!

Not to say there isn’t a whole lot more which needs changing, but God will do so as I yield my will to His will and as I daily surrender. What He has done and continues to do for and in me He will also do for you. IF you allow Him to. God did not make robots to serve Him but living, thinking human beings whom He gave to each of us the power of choice to either believe or not believe. I am so glad I responded to His call and I believe! This is a daily, sometimes hourly purposefully made decision.

So in the Old Testament we see God as the Creator. The book of Genesis tells us of the beginnings of everything that exists excepting for God Himself. Upon it’s truths all the future revelation of God to people is built on it’s foundational teachings that God is Elohim, our Creator.

As I said, God always has been, He has no humanly discoverable beginning and He assuredly has no ending. God always was, IS, and always will be, GOD. Have you noticed how there increasingly seems to be a great deal of debate about the Bible in mass, and the book of Genesis in particular? Sometimes bordering on abject animosity as many lost souls appear to have nothing but derision and contempt for God.

They have an abhorrence for all things which truly originate with and from the One true God of this life and the same One which lies beyond death’s door. Hatred for the Holy and Righteous God and His only begotten Son Jesus has grown exponentially in this country in the times in which we now live by leaps and bounds. Imagine how the forefathers would feel today. The same forefathers of our country who traveled across oceans and seas to find a land where they could worship God freely as He is - and not as some humanly exalted persons concept of Him.

Satan appears to have a great deal of hatred for this Book and I am betting that it is because of the fact that within the very first book of the Holy Bible is exposed the Adversary of God and the Deceiver of the entire human race from the moment God created Adam and then Eve.

As I was saying, Satan would rather do his dirty works without any Light shining upon them. Then too he hates the Word because it depicts his ultimate failure in Genesis 3.

The Lord God said to the serpent, “ Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you will go, And dust you will eat all the days of your life; And I will put enmity between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.” {Genesis 3: 14-15}

And Satan's ultimate destruction is found in the last book of the Bible, the book of the Revelation of Jesus to His beloved disciple John, so that he could tell us all about what is coming. Just about everything in the book of the Revelation can be found in the Old Testament. All of these books are prophetic books speaking of that which was, and is, to come upon the people of this earth.

Satan Bound:
"Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.

Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years."

Satan Freed, Doomed:

"When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison, and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore. And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, (Jerusalem) and fire came down from heaven and devoured them. And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."

So Satan KNOWS where he is going, he just wants to take as many of us, by any means possible at his disposal, as he can keep spiritually blinded with him. He can’t do so by force, if we go to Hell it will be because of our own freewill choice. The only thing that assures anyone an eternity in Hell separated from God is the choice he or she makes to reject His Son. And thereby refusing all that Jesus came to earth and suffered on our behalves for so we could be forgiven and made new in the “inner man”, (that is in our spirits), by His Spirit which comes to live inside our hearts at the very instant of our acceptance of Christ and the salvation He, and He alone, can offer to us.

You know, seeing the above scriptures I sometimes wonder at Satan's continued rebellion. Then again he is not a human being and cannot be redeemed as you and I can. Not that he would anyway because he is so full of pride he can’t see anything else but himself and his desires to be God. He never will be God, only Yahweh God is GOD, none other in actuality truly exists.

Surely, I think to myself, he has to know his time is short for even he can read the Bible and knows who God and Jesus are. He has to know that his time is limited, even more so in 2013 he knows it because God has spoken it and it is written in His Word. It is clearly apparent that along with being the father of lies, deception, and perversions he is also creations apotheosis of pride, vanity and narcissism.

The apostle Paul, led of the Holy Spirit, named the attitudes of people towards God and one another in the New Testament in the book of Romans, Chapter One. Please read it and you will see that it sounds just like today's society.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith.”

Unbelief and Its Consequences:

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them."{Romans 1:16-32}

God gave to each of us a free will and the ability to choose for ourselves what we will or will not believe or do. However without the original temptation and the choice to allow themselves to be deceived by taking his taunting of them as the truth instead of God’s instruction to them there would be NO evil prevalent in this world. For that matter, prevalent or not, there would be no evil at all.

Not only that but when Adam agreed to make the choice to give in to Satan’s deception and to take that first bite of the forbidden fruit which Eve offered to him, he also gave up the authority of the rule of this worlds system to Satan. The same authority and rule over His creation which God had given to Adam after He formed him from the dust of the earth….…Adam, by his disobedience, had given over to the Enemy the entire ruler ship of this earth.

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, “ Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” {Genesis 1:26-28}

That must have been one extraordinary piece of tasty fruit! Nothing is worth the price mankind has had to pay for Adams disobedience ever since…which is why God sent the Second Adam, Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, to restore us to God and to regain authority over the earth.

That this in fact did occur is proven in the New Testament after the baptism of Jesus when He went into the desert for 40 days and was tempted by Satan.

The Temptation of Jesus:

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry. And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘ Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’”

Then the devil took Him into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written, ‘ He will command His angels concerning You’; and On their hands they will bear You up, So that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’” Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘ You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory; and he said to Him, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus *said to him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘ You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only." Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him." {Matthew 4:1-11}

Satan is in no wise Omnipotent, only God is Omnipotent. However he is a powerful being, a master of disguise who can dress himself up as an angel of “light." Satan is the truest form of spiritual darkness, full of evil; and a master of perversion, deception and manipulation. He knows everything about what it is that tempts every man, woman and child to commit sin against God.

He has learned all of our weaknesses, after all, he is the originator of all the different addictions and perversions that have so many locked in bondage with no seeming way out. If we somehow consider our own weaknesses and addictions or perversions as in some way new or “different” than anyone else’s we make a grave mistake. Many times a deadly mistake when some of us overdose on drugs, alcohol or whatever your particular bondage may be.

That kind of misinterpretation will keep us imprisoned longer if we indeed live through it. For doing so we also may wind up again refusing the advice of anyone who tries to help us by telling us the truth. Choosing to continue to reject Christ over and over again until our hearts become so calloused and hardened against what it is that is our own personal sin that we may no longer be able to discern the voice of God which warns us to flee sin and accept the Son He provided as the only propitiation for us between God and man. And the resulting victory over the power of that sin that could be ours if we come to Him Who is Holy, Righteous and True.

Satan has had multiple millennia to practice his devilish art of poking and prodding us, tempting mankind to sin. Millennia to study us like some mad scientist studying lab rats in his lab. He knows what causes our flesh to yield and become susceptible to his mechanisms and delusions. He is more than aware that we are but carnal creatures born with a bent away from God since the days of the Garden. He knows that we are human and are born possessing within our flesh some of the same characteristics that caused his own fall. The very things that God hates like pride, lust, greed, hatreds and vanities, even the worship of false “gods’ for he worships his own self.

The Seven Deadly sins aren’t named thusly just to have something to be called. Rather man calls them that, but God named them. They actually will kill us if we allow them to. Satan so loves perverting God’s Word and replacing the Holiness of God with his own depravity. He adores whispering into man’s ears so that they will sow to their flesh, telling them that they can do anything they so desire to with no accountability to God for there is no God. Or if he will let you believe there is one, it will be a perversion of who God truly is or one of the millions of idols and false “gods” he himself created.

"There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community." {Proverbs 6:16-19}

Haughty Eyes (Pride)

Pride is at the root of all sin, but when pride comes, so eventually does the person’s fall and it can be swift and painful. Jesus is the Head of the church and He will not allow the leavening of sin to permeate through the church to do the Bride of Christ harm. Just as pride caused Satan’s fall, it can cause a believer’s fall too. It was the first sin in the history of God’s creation and it is still at the root of all sin today and that is why it is listed first in the seven deadly sins. May it not even be named among those of the children of God.

That’s why he will do all in his power to keep you from believing the Gospel because he knows He who is the Truth can set us absolutely free. His name is Jesus. All we have to do is take the first step and He will strengthen us to take the rest.

"I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth. Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also. As for you, let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life. These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.

Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him." {1 John 2: 21-29}

Should you say to yourselves WHAT SIN? I have no sin! Christ says this:

Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin." {John 8:34}

When Jesus told them in the same chapter “therefore you also do the things which you heard from your father”, he means Satan. For whoever refuses to hear Him who is truth rejects God and believes Satan thereby calling God a liar:

"This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us." {1 John 1:5-10}

God is Omniscient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent, as I may have already stated in order to share with you these descriptions. This means that God is ALL knowing and present everywhere at the same time, in time itself. Which makes sense since God is the creator OF time. The past, present and future are all the same to Him. You see, time does not limit God, nor does any length or shortness of distances, nor the heights of any mountains or depths of the deepest seas.

There is neither one of all mankind’s thoughts, no word nor deed of any kind that escapes His Omniscient knowledge. God is ……well…God, GOD IS ALL. To me He is everything that means anything. He made sense of my existence and created order within a life that was consumed in chaos. He holds all things in the Heavens, seas, earth and under the earth together by His divine Will. Should you gaze up into the sky and see a shooting star any night it will be because God chose to display His beautiful fiery star in just that way for you to behold!

Not ONE thing, nada, zilch, nein, can take place outside of His permissive Will. Even Satan has to filter his temptation of us through God the Father. The Book of Job tells us that:

"Now there was a day when the sons of God -(angels)-came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. The Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “ From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.” Then Satan answered the Lord, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has; he will surely curse You to Your face.” Then the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power, only do not put forth your hand on him.” So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord.

Satan is Allowed to Test Job:

Now on the day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, a messenger came to Job and said, “The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them, and the Sabeans attacked and took them. They also slew the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “ The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The Chaldeans formed three bands and made a raid on the camels and took them and slew the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, and behold, a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people and they died, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head, and he fell to the ground and worshiped. He said, “ Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God." {Job 1: 6-22}'

It is only the children of God through Christ whom Satan has to ask permission to tempt though, lest I lead you astray. Those who do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior have not yet recognized their sins and their need of a Savior. Those too whom through spiritual blindness have decided for themselves and of themselves, by their own free will choice to reject Christ. Neither of these does Satan have to ask permission of God to “sift” nor tempt them.

Jesus told Simon Peter :

“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.” {Luke 22:32}

The temptations to sin against God assaults our minds on a second by second basis as opposed to “minute by minute”. Satan is also known as the Prince of the power of the air, so just like you can turn on your Radio or television etc, and immediately tune in to that source that some transmitter somewhere is putting out so that you can receive it? So are we the “receivers” that choose what we will and will not think about or do.

Satan uses a technique much like that, except more concentrated to the human psyches. The temptations to sin come directly from Satan through the world and is sown into our “flesh“ as we allow it. Satan can’t touch the spirit but attacks our flesh where we are most vulnerable to his demonic schemes against us.

"Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices." {2 Corinthians 2:11}

The world, through the “god of it” offers us a multitude of ways of escape from our individual realities. Such as the “reality shows” of today which are nothing but written and directed vehicles through which to form the opinions of those who choose to watch them. Those who believe that they are in fact real, when the exact opposite is true. These also can become an addiction of sorts in our lives.

NOTHING is sacred to Satan, NO THING. NO PERSON, NO PLACE, NO MARRIAGE, NO RELATIONSHIP AND NO HUMAN BEING. We all are made in God's image and he hates ALL of us equally. Even those who do his bidding in the world.
