The Question is who is in control?

Updated on July 20, 2011

The questionis who is in control of your life? are you? who would you like to be in control of your life?

Your wife, your husband, your children, your boss, what about yourself, is your life going the way that you want it to be going, is the devil in control of your life?

Have you ever thought about letting God be in control of your life.

Right thru the Bible the word "control" appears 33 times, but there are many more paragraphs where the meaning is written in another way.

When you read the Bible you will see that God used many people who were out of control, but with "His" help they were brought back in control because God became in control.

(Control is also written as controlled, controlling, controls, self-control,and self-controlled.)

Gen.ch.45 v1. Then Joseph could no longer control himself before all his attendants, and he cried out, "Make everyone leave my presence!" so there was no-one with Joseph when he made himself know to his brothers.

If you know the story where his brothers did him so much harm, but thru that Joseph became the second in charge under Pharaoh, was he now trying to get back at his brothers for what they did to him, when he could no longer control himself in what he was doing was it that his conscience got the better of him,and he decieded that what he was doing was wrong, God says that we are not to pay back, as "He" will take control.

Ex.ch.32.v 25. Moses knew that the people were out of control and it was Aaron's fault, and now they had made fools of themselves in front of their enemies. Have you ever left someone in charge and trusted them that they would carry on the same way as you were doing, was Aaron weak in his will power with some things and the people got the better of him, have you ever been like that where you fall down under pressure and loose control?

When Moses came back with God's help he was able to regain the control.

Jos. ch.18,v 1. After Israel had captured the land, they met at Shiloh and set up the sacred tent, here the word "captured" means that they were in control because they secured the land, they had God on their side, is God on your side for you to be in control?

Prov. ch.29-v11. Don't be a fool and quickly lose your temper--be sensible and patient.

"Quickly lose" means that you are out of control, "sensible and patient" means that you are in control.

Prov.ch16-v32. Controlling your temper is better than being a hero who captures a city.

When you control your temper you will have friends for ever, but when you capture a city you will only have friends for a short time.

It is better to think before you speak, don't let your thoughts control you when you are in a bad situation, be wise and let God control your mind, and you will become a stronger person.

2nd.Sam.ch 8 v1. Later, David attacked and badly defeated the Philistines, Israel was now free from their control. The only way that David was able to win the battle because God was in control of the situation, David could not have done it on his own.

2nd. Chron.17 v41, 2-6. Jehoshaphat followed his father's example and obeyed and worshiped the Lord, and so the Lord blessed Jehoshaphat and helped him keep firm control of his kingdom, people of Judah brought gifts to Jehoshaphat but even after he became very rich and respected, He remained completly faithful to the Lord.

Rom. ch 6 v20. When you were slaves of sin, you didn't have to please God, you didn't have to prove anything to God because sin was in control of you as sin and God do not go together.

Rom. ch 7 v5. When we thought only of ourselves, the law made us have sinful desires, it made every part of our bodies into slaves who are doomed to die, before we met Christ we were controlled by sin and we were dead.

Ist. cor, ch 14 v32. A prophet should be willing to stop and let someone else speak. This is saying that we should be in control of what we are talking about and not taking control.

When sin is in control over you, you will die. when you let the Holy Spirit take control of you, you will live.

Gen ch1 v3. God blessed the seventh day and made it special because on that day He rested from His work.

When God spoke things came about because He was in control of all things, and He is still in control of everything.

Let Him be in control of your life.
