"The Rewards Of Forgiving Your Fellow Man"
" The Reward O Forgiving Your Fellow Man"
Matthews chapter 6 -14 & 15: The bible tells us that if ye forgive man their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you.
Verse 15: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your father forgive your transgressions.
When we were young, we were taught about the importance of forgiveness by our mother. She told us that the bible said to forgive your enemy, because when you forgive them, it's like heaping coals of fire upon their heads. She also taught us not to go to bed angry or let the sun go down on our wrath. To ask forgiveness before going to bed. Forgiveness is a big word with a lot of power that can give an unexpected blessing to us, that we use righteously. I know there are many of us that has been hurt so badly that the pain still lingers on. We have to pray about it and forgive the person that hurt us and move on because this is the only way that we can heal.
If you have been talked about and put down because of jealousy or envy, that's okay, they talked about Jesus and ridiculed him... but he still held his head high. He knew that there was a God above even though, we deal with all the evilness and madness that go on down here on earth. Did someone tell vicious lies on you and mess up your good name. Well that's okay too, because God hate liars. The teaching in the bible let us know that there isn't anything to bad to be forgiven for, except blaspheming the holy spirit. In this world, even Jesus at his crucifixion, said forgive them father, for they know not what they do. So, if Jesus died on the cross forgiving the people that wronged him, then why can't we forgive our brothers and sisters in Christ their transgressions or trespasses against us. if we don't forgive them, then neither will the father in heaven will forgive us our transgressions. There are great rewards and benefits for forgiving a person their transgression or trespasses, because we will benefit from it and become healed, whole and happy again.
The other reward is that we can grow in grace like Jesus. We will also have a reward of knowing, we did the right thing and will grow and prosper in health and happiness. The rewards of forgiveness is the weight of the burden that has been lifted off us to make things right with the person and with God. That also means you can look at your self in the mirror and smile at yourself; better yet, you can go to sleep with a peaceful mind and an uplifted heart.
