The Servant of the Lord -Yeshua! - The Christ! - Message to all!

Updated on March 10, 2010

Yeshua speaks of his Mission

Jesus Christ speaks of his calling from God! His mission was and is to serve the Lord God and he was called before he was born!

Readers you need to be aware that Jesus (Yeshua)has many names and roles, some of these have been mentioned in my other writings. It is important to remember that Yeshua was with God in the beginning and he was actively involved with the creation of the world (See first chapter of Genesis and the first chapter of John). Then he was called to mission. His name before his mission was 'wisdom'. He was not Christ or Jesus or Yeshua or the Word at that point but these names came into being when he had commenced or fulfilled his mission in this world. In the book of Isaiah 49, Yeshua speaks to us of his calling.

In the passage below Yeshua connects himself to his people Israel! The first part has double meaning it connects God's people of Israel as the Lord's servant who God uses to display his splendour, but at the same time Yeshua speaks of himself as a servant of God who also displays God's splendour. This is confirmed in the second part of the passage when Yeshua speaks more specifically of his calling.

" Listen to me, you Islands; Hear this , you distant nations.

Before I was born the Lord called me; from my birth he has made mention of my name.

He made my mouth like a sharpened sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me;

He made me into a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.

He said to me, "You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will display my splendour."

Yeshua speaks of his calling,

"And now the Lord says-

' he who formed me in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself,

Christ's calling to this world was first to bring back Jacob (Israel - the Jews). Make no mistake - any one who raises a hand against any of Israel is raising their hand against the Lord himself and ultimately to God the Almighty!

The second part of the mission is:

" For I am honoured in the eyes of the Lord and my God has been my strength-

he says: Yeshua now explains what God says to him.

"It is too small a thing for you to be my servant, to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept.

Note! God intends to bring back the tribes of Israel, this is also mentioned in the book of Revelation.

God continues to say:

" I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth."

There we have it, Yeshua also came to give salvation to the Gentiles! That is all those who are not part of Israel - he came to save you! Save you from what? To save you from the pending destiny of death. He offers salvation from what is coming! He offers a way back into his presence instead of struggling alone in fear! he offers you peace and joy instead of discontent and depression!

God continues to say to his son Yeshua:

"This is what the Lord says-

the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel-

to him who was despised and abhorred by the nation, to the servant of rulers:

' Kings will see you and rise up. princes will see and bow down, because of the Lord, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you."

Note: It says Nation and not nations. This is God speaking of Israel who has rejected Yeshua as the son of God! Then he mentions Kings and princes, who will recognise Yeshua and give him the respect he deserves! They will recognise that the Almighty God DID send his son to become 'The Christ' and he will be the King of KIngs! Therefore all shall bow to him!

But be sure it is Christ Yeshua you bow down too! Soon, very soon, there will be a counterfeit who will demand the same thing!

Finally:

Do not misunderstand! Although God's people Israel has rejected Yeshua, they will have their scales removed from their eyes and will see him return and 'mourn the one they pierced' along with the rest who rejected him! But do not be deluded, those who rejected him to this end will still be accountable for their sin towards the Lord, so it is still important to assess your position with the Lord now!

But those who know him:

"Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains!

For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones."

Isaiah 51:11, " The ransomed of the Lord will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them. and sorrow and sighing will flee away. "

Those words -that promise from God the Almighty should be enough to stir the hearts towards him! To promise to take you out of this world of suffering, injustice, pain, hurt, sickness, and ultimately to a nothingness! That should be enough to turn any hard heart to his knees and plead for forgiveness, calling out to him who offers the precious FREE gift of eternal life!
