Thunder 3

The third thunder of God was heard in the book of Exodus after Moses came down from Mount Sanai to prepare (sanctify) the people for the coming voice of the Lord.

And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your wives. - Exodus 19:15

Moses was saying to abstain from sexual relations to attend to the things of God. This verse will become more significant as it is symbolic and has spiritual significance to the fifth thunder in Revelation 14:4, which will be clarified in Part 3 of this theme.

And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. – Exodus 19:16

The people of God (Israelite's) were standing before the mountain anticipating an exciting event to happen. Can you imagine being there watching this unfold as thunder and lightning with a thick cloud, a loud trumpet sound, or voice, and smoke as the Lord descended down the mountain with fire and quaking. I don’t know about you, but that would put the awe of the Lord in me.

And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice. – Exodus 19:18-19

Although this would seem to be a terrifying and fearful event, it was not about God's judgement, but preparing God's people for reconciliation back to Him. This event is about ceasing the man-made works of “vegetation” (God cursed in Genesis) out of our lives. The people prepared themselves by consecrating themselves and washing their garments in preparation to meet God. This is symbolic of the true believer of Jesus Christ who have chosen to change their garments to be consecrating to God’s plan and purpose. Today, there are people who have chosen to submit themselves to the curse of the Law; it is a “vegetative” covering, and it will not bring true salvation.

Jesus Christ is the grace that exchanges our soiled garments for His garment of grace. It is the cleanliness that only He can give, which has no spot, stain or wrinkle.

And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. – Revelation 8:5

The third thunder in the book of Revelation is the continuation of judgement of God. It is a picture of one-third of the earth (vegetation) destroyed. It is not only the physical implication to consider, but the spiritual too. The censer of fire, thunder, lightning’s, and earthquake is similar in nature as in Exodus 19:16-19.

God will judge all that alienates itself from Him. There are two choices, consecration to God, or Judgement. Reconciliation and consecration to Jesus Christ was God’s plan and purpose to redeem us from the curse of the Law, and the cursed ground when He returns.

Are you living your life wrapped up in the “soil”, or are you covered and consecrated through Jesus Christ?

Thunder 4

And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice. And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount – Exodus 19:19-20

The word "voice," which is 6963 qowl (kole) in Hebrew is interpreted to mean thunder in this verse.

The Lord came down to the earth from heaven and calls Moses to the top of Mount Sanai. Moses is a representation and symbolic of the people of God that will meet Him face to face. This event can be paralleled with the return of Jesus Christ who will come down from heaven, and set foot on the mountain as a Mighty Conqueror.

And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives – Zechariah 14:4

When we meet Jesus Christ face to face there will no longer be anything that separates us from Him. This event will be of greater magnificence than what Moses experienced. The fourth thunder of God signifies restored fellowship with our Maker and no longer alienated from His magnificent presence. The modern "churches" who continue to empower the traditions of man will be brought to shame. Jesus Christ is the only one who can cut you off from the root of sin that is deeply entrenched in the cursed ground. He wants to graft you in Himself (Tree of Life). Those who willfully embrace and empower sin will never make it to the top to meet God face to face.

The process of having our roots firmly planted in Jesus Christ is about making Him Lord in every part of your life, and by His grace overcoming the temptation of sin. When sin is enabled and empowered, the power of the Holy Spirit is negated; the genuine Gospel is replaced with another gospel and another Jesus. When sin is dead and Jesus Christ becomes Lord of your life, it ultimately is a procession up the mountain to meet Him clothed in the garments of grace because you are worthy.

God wants to have face to face conversations with you. Your pastor, prophet, priest, or teacher cannot do this for you. God wants you to approach Him, and to hear His thunderous voice (spiritual), He is calling you.

Are you ready to heed His call?

The fourth thunder in the Old Testament is an example of Moses heeding God's voice. It is also applies to us today to hear God's call too. It is about sharing the Good News of the Gospel, and encouraging those to come near to Jesus Christ. Once we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are changed by His glory by answering and heeding His voice.

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. – 2 Corinthians 3:18

The fourth thunder in Revelation is about the wrath of God who judges the dead, but also about God’s faithful servants receiving their reward.

And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. – Revelation 11:18

And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. – Revelation 11:19

In a spiritual sense, we are God’s temple and Jesus Christ is the Ark of the Covenant within the temple. When the temple is opened, Jesus Christ is seen. The true and genuine Ekklesia will give birth to more followers. They will hear His thunder, go up and meet God, and be changed into His image.

Grafted to the Tree of Life
Grafted to the Tree of Life

The fruit of spiritual maturity is seen by those who abide in the Word of God, have been refined in the fire, and grafted to the Tree of Life. Spiritual maturity will have nothing to do with the "tare" system or false doctrines. The modern apostate "church" will not sanctify to live on the mountain of God, but will enable those to wallow in the cursed “soil” and “vegetation.” We cannot used by Jesus Christ for the Gospel unless we have been transformed into His image.

Are you partaking of the image of the beast, or have you been transformed into the image of Jesus Christ?

Satan who does not want believers in Jesus Christ to grow into full maturity. The Gospel may be sown and heard, but Satan often comes to take the seed that is sown in people’s hearts. When the seed of Jesus Christ is sown and fully matures, there is a glorious manifestation; it is the productivity of thirty, sixty, and a hundred fold from the same seed. What is sown of Jesus Christ produces the fruit of Jesus Christ. The true Gospel is not only about maturing in Him, but about birthing life into others too.

The modern apostate "church" doctrines produces soiled robes, but the Bride of Christ are the only ones who are allowed at the Wedding Feast because they are wearing their garments of grace. They are the ones who did not negate the power of the Holy Spirit to cleanse their lives and remained alert for the call of the Bridegroom.

Those who are asleep are the mute pew warmers that believe that the church is a building, and "good works" are what you do in it. The traditions of man have blinded them.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. - Revelation 18:4

The true followers of Jesus Christ are commanded to come out of the great harlot, which in part represents the apostate modern "churches" today. Wake up! Come out of her and hear the voice of the Lord who is calling you to prepare yourself. He is coming for His Bride soon.

The fourth thunder of God is about intimacy with Him and heeding his voice. It is about the glory that is revealed to the world through an encounter with Him. It is about the experience of being summoned and caught up where Jesus Christ is and meeting Him face to face.
