The Tears of Abraham

Tears Of Abraham (Song Lyrics)

By must65gt

The Tears of Abraham"

1)The mountainside rose high above the valley

This place he hadn't traveled to before

He walked while chanting songs of praise and worship

Troubled by the task that lay before

(Chorus)

The tears of Abraham, were hidden deep with-in his heart

What God had asked of him was slowly tearing him apart

But for the love he had of God he would pay a heavy cost

The son he loved so dear would soon be lost

2)His son asked him if he'd forgot the Offering

He paused a time while searching for the words

At last he said "Son first we'll build the alter

God will provide a sacrifice of worth.

(Chorus)

3)He bound his son and placed him on the alter

His beating heart was ripping through his chest

Then God said "Let the child down from the alter"

His love of God had truly passed the test

(Final Chorus)

The tears of Abraham were showing heavy on his face

What God had asked of him was now returned to him by grace

And for the love God has of us he would pay a heavy cost

By sending his son Jesus to the cross....

Yes for the love God has of us he would pay a heavy cost

By sending his son Jesus to the cross

...the son he loved so dear......went to the cross ©
