The WORD of GOD in Battle
Jesus Christ-God Incarnate-God manifest in the flesh
Of all the twenty-seven books in the New Testament, the book of Revelation is the most difficult book for me. But it is also one of the most exciting and interesting works inspired by the Holy Spirit. The book of Revelation bewildered many Christians perhaps, according to biblical scholars, because it is both prophecy and apocalypse.
Grant R. Osborne, one of the bible scholars and contributors to the New Living Translation bible wrote: "The fundamental perspective of Revelation is the exhortation to endure persecution on the basis of the transcendent reality of God's Kingdom in the present as grounded in God's control of the future."
Revelation 19:11-13, 16 "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood and his name is the Word of God... on his robe and on his thigh he has his name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS." (NIV)
When I read these verses in the Holy Bible, it made me ponder about the "Word of God." It says clearly in the Holy Bible that the Word of God as revealed to His apostle John in Revelation 19:13 is the same revelation of Jesus Christ in John 1:1 where it says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (KJV, Copyright 1945). Jesus is the Word incarnate.
The Almighty was not represented by a subordinate. A second person did not come to do His bidding. Amazingly, the supreme, eternal God came himself. As described in Isaiah 35:4 "Say to those fearful hearts, Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you." (NIV)
Matthew 1:23 "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Emmanuel---which means, God with us." (NIV)
Jesus Christ is the full revelation of the Most High God. Heb. 1:3 "The son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven."
The Word of God might not be so important to some people. There might be people who will say that the Holy Bible is just an ordinary book but for those Christians who are really living according to the righteousness of God. It is life itself. Jesus Christ, the Word Incarnate who came on flesh and dwelt among us; laid his own life for our salvation; was risen from the dead and now sits at the right hand of God. He is returning. He will return, and no longer a prophecy... but very much alive. He is returning as Warrior-Messiah-King.
The Word of God, one of the apocalyptic portraits of Jesus Christ, the eternal Word will come and will fight with the beast (Satan) for all Christians who overcome all the persecutions and do the will of God till the end. The Lord Jesus said "Only hold on to what you have until I come. To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations." (Rev. 2:17)
What an exciting promise of the Lord for those overcomers. The Word who became flesh and was gloried, is the same God who will come riding on a white horse with His armies dressed in fine linen, white and clean who will make war with the beast (Satan) and the kings of the earth and their armies.
When God spoke, it came to pass. There is a finality in the way God speaks. It is firm. It is conclusive. It is settled.
Hundreds of accounts in the bible illustrate the truthfulness of God's word. Despite adverse circumstances and human opinions, the final events always confirm the Lord's testimony. God remains true. His judgments as well as His blessings are established in heaven.
Rewards for Overcomers
*Spiritual Food. Rev. 2:7" He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God."
*A New Name. Rev. 2:17 " He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it."
*Authority. Rev. 2:26 "And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations."
*Robes of Righteousness. Rev. 3:5 "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels."
*A Memorial Pillar. Rev. 3:12 "He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name."
*Enthronement. Rev. 3:21 "To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne."
Rev. 12:11 "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death."
*An Eternal Inheritance. Rev 21:7 "He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
These revelations of the Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit to the churches shall come to pass.
This is the time of shaking, a time seems unwilling to face reality. Tensions mount as moral structures are crumbling. The basic principles of honesty, faithfulness, and diligence are questioned by many people. All kinds of evil things are happening now as we can observe in our modern society. Harsh things and even hatred are in the hearts of the people, bad issues against political leaders, corruption and disrespect. All kinds of satanic ploys are out there in the market... Beware Christians... let us be careful in every step we take. The path that leads to eternal life is very small and very difficult road. The road to destruction is very wide...
We might receive an offer for an easy transportation ... with lots of comfort that would harden our hearts against righteousness. Don't let us grieve the Holy Spirit... for the Word of God would give His rewards for those who overcome and continue to live in His Word until the end of time... The Word of God... which some people just taken lightly and even deny... the same Word will judge us in the end times... The same Word whose mouth has the flaming sword. The same Word who saves... the same Word whose other side gives us grace of repentance; the other side (judgment) that carries out death.
Jesus Christ, the incarnate Word, the Eternal Word of God, is the true and faithful witness. There is nothing hidden in his eyes. He searches even the hearts of the people.
Hebrews 4:12 says "For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (NIV)
Run the race with steadfastness and walk in the Word of God, because even if we are dead spiritually because of our sins, Jesus has already paid that price for you and me through His blood. The Word of God is calling for REPENTANCE... FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND. No matter who you are and where you came from... your color does not matter in the last days...for God will not judge us according to our success or our credential... God will judge us according to what is in our heart.
