Today's Relevance of Israel in End-Time Prophecy

...in the futility of their mind, being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them - Ephesians 4:17-18

"Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand. - Daniel 12:10

Ignorance has become a point of view.
Ignorance has become a point of view.

It is amazing that the series of prophetic events that have been foretold in Scripture have happened with such accuracy. If the skeptic took a closer look it would be reasonable that it is not merely coincidence. Over one-hundred events prophesied in Scripture have been fulfilled with great accuracy. Even today, events are ramping up or leading up to foretold prophecy. Unfortunately, the apostate church does not encourage the masses to look at the evidence because they have been too busy promoting their “mystical-Jesus” that they can merchandise.

We cannot see the times that we are in if we are continually absorbed in our own self-interests and pursuits. We have become oblivious to eternal things and cannot see the signs of the imminent “storm” that is coming. To think outside the parameters of the merchandised Church and Hollywood would be unheard of.

Over the course of history, there have been times when many thought the time of Jesus Christ was at hand, but the evidence today would suggest that it is unfolding before our eyes. The biggest thing to look for in end-time prophecy, are the anticipated events leading to the return of Jesus Christ. In the environment we live in today, the news, entertainment, and advertising are what controls are day-to-day living, whether we realize it or not. We have become far removed from true reality that even when the latest disasters and catastrophes are reported, they are not really a consequence to us. We may read it in the newspaper, magazine, or see it on television for a few minutes, then we completely forget about it because the latest episode of our favourite television series is about to begin. Ignorance is what makes Biblical prophecy irrelevant.

In a desert cave, ancient scrolls were found in Qumran, Jordan in 1947. These scrolls contained prophecies over two-thousand years old, which predict events in our future. The Old and New Testament are proven documents of antiquity. The skeptic will say the Bible cannot be proven in every single aspect, but if you think about it, it is an unrealistic expectation, or burden of proof. What can be said is that nothing has been discovered that disproves its authenticity; the things that have been discovered give it more credence.

The prophet Daniel in Scripture recorded that certain people in the final generation of mankind would understand the end-time prophecies. What is disturbing about the times that we are in is the complacency of the Church is at an all-time high. They are being seduced by false spirits that feed off the carnal idolatry in their hearts. The events that have, and will transpire, will happen despite the ignorance of those who do not heed the warnings.

There are many events prophesied in Scripture that have come to fruition. The following end-time events are for the followers of Jesus Christ to understand that the Good News of Jesus Christ should be put on a state of urgency. The time of grace is on a crash course of coming to an end. We need to put away with our temporal mindset and focus on the eternal ramifications for all of mankind.

If the Apocalyptic countdown has begun, how do we know, and what evidence is there to prove it?

“Moreover, the LORD will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth; and there you shall serve other gods, wood and stone, which you or your fathers have not known. “Among those nations you shall find no rest, and there will be no resting place for the sole of your foot; but there the LORD will give you a trembling heart, failing of eyes, and despair of soul. – Deuteronomy 28:64-65

Now it will come about that instead of sweet perfume there will be putrefaction; instead of a belt, a rope; instead of well-set hair, a plucked-out scalp; instead of fine clothes, a donning of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty. – Isaiah 3:24

“Say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king will be king for all of them; and they will no longer be two nations no longer be divided into two kingdoms. – Ezekiel 37:21-22

“It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. – Zechariah 12:3

An application of Scripture to the historical events that have taken place leading to the imminent events of the future may lead to some revelation.

Both Jesus and Daniel warned and predicted that the Jewish people would be scattered, exiled, and persecuted. The Jews have been part of the malevolent history of anti-Semitism. The Romans destroyed Jerusalem and by the account of Flavius Josephus, 1.1 million Jews were executed by a Roman decree in 70 CE. The progressive dispersion of the Jews scattered across the globe to places such as Africa, Europe, and Asia. Moreover, the Jews have been product of murder from the violent massacres of the Middle-Ages and Russian Pogroms; over six-million Jews were extirpated during the WW11/Holocaust.

On May 14th, 1948, the nation of Israel was reborn after almost two thousand years to their ancient capital of Jerusalem. There is no other point in history where the Jews were gathered back to their land and nation as an established state. The New Testament reads that this will be part of the end-times.

The history of Israel has been problematic and it is evident today that they have become the focal point of world tension. The diversity of different faiths (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) and land contentions (historical and religious) have, and are still, commonplace. It was evident in 1967, when the tension between Israel and its surrounding neighbors came to a head; it could be considered divine intervention that they won the contested land war in just six days considering their foes had more resources over the smaller, limited army.

In Israel today, the biblical Hebrew language has been restored and the shekel has been revived and used once again.

"For then I will give to the peoples purified lips, that all of them may call on the name of the LORD, to serve Him shoulder to shoulder. – Zephaniah 3:9

“The shekel shall be twenty gerahs; twenty shekels, twenty-five shekels, and fifteen shekels shall be your maneh. – Ezekiel 45:12

Recent reports have shown that water has returned to the barren landscape of Israel. The Negev desert has pools of water for irrigation systems. There are fruit orchards, olive groves, vineyards, and forests that cover the land; Israel has become an agricultural producing nation. If we look back in history when the Jews did not have control over their nation, their land was barren with parasite/malarial infected swamps. Today, there are many agricultural products from Israel such as peppers, melons, chocolate, and wines.

I will open rivers on the bare heights and springs in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water and the dry land fountains of water. “I will put the cedar in the wilderness, the acacia and the myrtle and the olive tree I will place the juniper in the desert together with the box tree and the cypress, that they may see and recognize, and consider and gain insight as well, that the hand of the LORD has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it. – Isaiah 41:18-20

"They will say, 'This desolate land has become like the garden of Eden; and the waste, desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.' – Ezekiel 36:36

“Also I will restore the captivity of My people Israel, and they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them; they will also plant vineyards and drink their wine, and make gardens and eat their fruit. – Amos 9:14

In the days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will blossom and sprout, and they will fill the whole world with fruit. – Isaiah 27:6

The wilderness and the desert will be glad, and the Arabah will rejoice and blossom; like the crocus. Isaiah 35:1

Prosperity gospel
Prosperity gospel

It is obvious the land of Israel is blossoming and at the forefront of world issues, but there are more foretold events to weigh and test throughout the world. There have been many catastrophes that are natural and man-made that has wreaked havoc on the environment. Pestilence, disease, famine, tsunamis and earthquakes have become commonplace. Corporations have become above the law where the bottom line supersedes ethics and morality. Our societies have changed from the effect of lawlessness and apostasy of the Church. The influences of pagan ideologies are the catalyst in the decline of morality and spiritual delusion. People are seeking after a “mystical Jesus” and “signs and wondersinstead of Biblical truth.

But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. – 2 Timothy 3:1-5

The Gospel message has been exchanged for the con-artistry of false prophets and teachers. “Christianity” is a label that religion pins on you if you conform to their departed truth.

News Flash! - The established institutionalized Christianity ignores the Bible, which is a metaphor for the anti-Christ.

"Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. – Matthew 24:11

Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. – 2 Thessalonians 2:8-10

Paul and Jesus are speaking to the ekklesia, but the modern church ignores their warnings. The apostasy is right in front of our faces and the masses are deluded into believing that it is “Jesus”. Biblical morality has been thrown out; the church no longer studies the Bible and has no clue what it is saying. The teachers and preachers are no longer accountable to the Word and their “chattel” ignorantly say, “Amen!”, “C’mon!”, “More, More!” openly accepting and acknowledging the spiritual counterfeit.

There are many religions that are awaiting their own Messiah, but the clue to the deception is the message of being all things to all people with a political agenda to unite all faiths to restore peace, prosperity, and stability in the midst of crisis or chaos. Thefear of the masses will look to a man instead of God for a way out. The product will be a corrupted global religious system, which will be hungrily accepted by the masses.

“…the people of the world can live together in peace. We know that is God’s vision. Now that must be our work here on earth. Thank-you, and may God’s peace be upon you…Thank-you. – President Barack Obama

The advancement of nano-technology has shown the ability to manipulate matter at a molecular level. Implantation has already taken place on humans and animals. The controller of this technology will be a corporate government entity. This technology is an attempt to collapse a single human entity into a piece of official information. The imposed, assigned identity would make an individual completely reliant on corporate services, which in a literal sense; they would own you and your data. A constant state of surveillance will be required to “enhance” security and to identify and “separate out” individual groups with tracking data.

History has already shown the consequential results of the dictatorships of Stalin and Hitler, why would it be any different in the future?

“Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand) - Matthew 24:15

Today, Jewish schools are advocating and dedicating themselves to resurrect the Levitical priesthood. They have been collecting, restoring, and designing to reintroduce this type of worship in Jerusalem.

What does the Bible say about the last seven years of mankind? Here is one theoretical scenario that could happen:

The unrest in the Middle East would make oil production and natural gas unreliable, causing prices to go through the roof. Russia would align with Iran to bring about this instability and become the new “Saudi Arabia”.

A peace treaty will be signed, but will be broken by military coalition backed by the allies of Iran, Turkey, Russia, and central Asia.

Humans have the ability to bring themselves to extinction. There has been the technology and capacity to do this since the 20th century. The domino effect of nuclear warfare is very real with number of nuclear warheads that have been produced.

...And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God...Revelation 20:4
...And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God...Revelation 20:4
Are you prepared?
Are you prepared?

The evidence reveals that Scripture has predicted and warned that the Jews would be exiled and persecuted throughout history. The anti-Semitic hatred of the Jews was predicted in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. The gathering of the Jews back to the land of Israel was an unprecedented event. The Hebrew language and the shekel have been used once again as currency. The thirsty and dusty ground of Israel has turned into fertile, agricultural land. The increase of disasters of all kinds, and the apostasy of the church, confirm the predictions of Scripture. It would be sensible to take heed to the foretold future events.

Daniel said that the wicked will not understand, but the righteous will know their escape from God’s wrath. Examining the Biblical evidence with history should bring conviction and the conclusion that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is historically accurate that speaks volumes into the times we live in till the return of Jesus Christ. The prophetic nature of Scripture is not a theory, but a postulate. The rules of evidence applied to prophecy would hold up in the court of law. The empirical evidence holds up to scrutiny. The amounts of prophecies fulfilled to Jesus’ second coming are reaching the one-hundred percentile mark. God’s agenda is going to come to pass.

Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. – Luke 21:24

“For I say to you, from now on you will not see Me until you say, ‘BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!’” – Matthew 23:39

Satan wanted to be God and involved man and other angelic beings in the rejection of God’s place, authority, and love. Those who have rejected God have made their own relative standards of righteousness apart from Him. God wants each one of us back; the sins of our own man-made standards have separated us from Him. All we have to do is choose to accept His love. God foreknew the fall of Satan and man leading up to these end-times because He gave them both the free-will to deny or accept Him. God has done this for the sake of those who will repent and accept His gift. Jesus Christ has not returned yet because He is still giving mankind the chance to repent and turn from their sinful ways and trust in Him for salvation before His wrath destroys the evil of this world.

Most of the world will not be ready except for those individuals who know and love God and believe His Word. They will be ready for the times of tribulation and will escape God’s wrath through what He has ordained, which is through the Biblical Gospel of Jesus Christ. Turn away and reject the mystical and merchandised version of the "gospel" that is paving the way for the Antichrist.

Hello Planks and Nails,

I watched and have the DVD "The Daniel Project" which was researched and filmed by a Scottish film crew. They covered all this information. Well worth watching. Jacob Pratsch was the Bible expositor in the documentary. I hope many people will be moved to google this and get the DVD to watch for themselves. Amen

i sincerely appreciate your well written article Planksandnails.

Here are a few things that have occurred to me as I have studied the topic of the last days:

Re-establishment of Israel as a nation:

From the days of Daniel the prophet (following the Babylonian exile), Israel has never really enjoyed a 'glorious' return to their homeland until what seems to have begun in 1948. The first return under Cyrus was probably a reflection of an event that is yet to occur in a grander scale in our days. Hence to me Israel's return as of now in these days is a clear indication of something significant that is yet to occur.

Rise of a chosen leader:

From a number of passages there seem to be hints of God raising a leader who will lead the remaining Jews to their home land and rebuild the Jerusalem temple. There are explicit references to a direct conflict between an anointed one in Daniel, a Prince, who will be opposed by the antichrist. If this individual were to refer to Jesus, it would have to mean a conflict in which Jesus succumbs to Satan. (Paul also talks of a restrainer, a subject of much speculation). This view also seems to sit well with a true return of the Jews to the Truth, an event that Paul clearly expects to happen in the last days. This will bring back Israel's lost glory in front of the nations, which in turn will seek the God of Israel. This would also agree with an 'abomination of desolation' which desecrates a sacred or holy space. If the temple were to be rebuilt by antichrist himself, where is there need for any desecration? Hence I feel another leader will arise upon whom God's stamp of approval remains. This i think is probably the next major event to indicate that we are in the last days. (Did you know that the Jews are more and more eagerly anticipating that individual who would rise up and lead them like Moses?)

Rebuilding of the Temple:

There are numerous prophetic passages that will be fulfilled if a temple is rebuilt. This includes passages such as Ezekiel, Daniel, Matthew 24 etc. The temple seems to be the venue where God chooses to stage his final plans upon the earth. The days in which we live seem rather close to a fulfillment of this event. But there would have to be some dramatic changes before something of that sort comes about. This sure seems to be a time when all people everywhere need to watch out as things unfold.
