The Worshiper The Father Seeks
The Worshiper The Father Seeks
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit and his worshipers must worship in spirit and truth.”
John 4:23=24
Who are the true worshipers of God ? Are they the ones who come to church every Sunday and lift up their hands and sing worship songs to God.? Sunday after Sunday so many worshipers are filling the churches. Are all of them true worshipers whom the Father seeks ?
The truth is that you can never be a true worshiper whom the Father seeks unless you have a genuine born again experience. What is a born again experience ? It is not simply a change of Religion, but it involves a change of heart and mind. When one is born again, God’s seed is implanted in that person as it is written in I Peter 1:23; “For you have been born again not of perishable seed but of imperishable , through the living and enduring Word of God.”
God’s seed is implanted in a person through hearing of the Word of God. A person in order to be born again must hear the Word of God. For God’s Spirit is alive in God’s Word It is the Word that pierces and exposes the darkness of one’s heart.
A true worshiper of God is a born again person who has the Spirit of God living in him and who are living in the truth. He is not living a lie. He is somebody who has fully repented from his sinfulness , who made a 180 degree turn from darkness to light, and living in righteousness and truth of God’s Word. That is why he can worship the Father in spirit and in truth. He is the kind of worshiper the Father seeks. His worship is not merely lip service. It is an expression of his wholehearted devotion to God. And worship for him is a lifestyle.
Worship to God is not merely a lip service . It is observed in how you daily live your life . A true worshiper has ceased from sinning as his lifestyle. A true worshiper is living in holiness and righteousness. A true worshiper seeks daily to love God with all his heart, his soul, his mind and his strength. He has put away all the “idols of the heart” or anything that hinders his relationship with God. A true worshiper has ceased from living in self-centeredness and worldliness. He has ceased from coveting worldly things . He has completely surrendered his will to the Father.
Worship is more than just singing a song, lifting up your hands during praise and worship , it involves complete vow to the Father’s will. It involves total dethroning of the self-life and complete surrender to the Lordship of Christ... You can never be a true worshiper if you are still living for yourself . You can never be a true w orshiper of the living God if you are still busy pursuing your selfish ambitions. You must dethrone self from the center of your life and enthrone Christ as your king and master.
The Father seeks for true worshipers. He does not look for those with fine singing voices or for those who can play instruments very well. He looks to the heart of the worshiper. He looks for the one with a totally pure and consecrated heart.
